As the party joins back up together. Micky tells his story.
"So after yall got pulled from the caravan. We headed out the next morning. The whole way here we were attacked by goblins. It was to the point we where running through the gates of Arena as the guards where fireing arrows at the goblins chasing us. The merchants determined it was the chest for the Duke the goblins must of been after so they asked for volunteers to take over the delivery. I volunteered but it turned out I was the only one. The next day they left me here. So I've been doing odd jobs to earn enough for a cart and horse to finish the delivery. So what you say help me deliver the chest and split the reward 5 ways?"
Marley seems happy to see Mickey as he greets him with a wide smile and makes room for him to join the group at the table. He enthusiastically flags the bard maid down, "Please bring another ale for our friend here!"
"Interesting..." he says slowly, after hearing Mickey's proposal. Rubbing his chin thoughtfully, hethen adds in a quieter tone, "If there are so many goblins, do you think the five of us can do this?"
"Thanks, I'm not sure I don't think we can take them all. We will need to push hard. Maybe get an e tra set of horses to swap them out so we don't have to rest as often."
"I figure 4 horses and a cart would cost around 250 gold, unless yall have that amount, there is a job that pays 500 gold. It's to deal with Rats in the aqueducts. Starting a few weeks back large Rats started appearing in the city. The magistrate thinks a wererat nest is somewhere down there. Kinda crazy if you ask me but a crazy amount of Rats did appear out of no where earlier today. So I guess it's possible"
“rats from the aqueducts you say?” He thinks on the pipe of the sewers and ponders. “Any rumor as to if there happens to be some sort of sound that occurs before they appear.. like a music or some sort of unique tone?” He tries to remember any tell tales of when the pipe of the sewers is in use.
Mickey nearly chokes on his ale. "What you mean fight rats with rats..." He looks at the bag and sees it wiggle. "DID YOU. He looks around then more in a hushed tone. "Did you release the Rats this morning. Are yall behind this wererat thing? What's going on?"
Marley snorts and tries to keep ale from coming out his nose with a burst of laughter. He resists the urge to make his best rat face as he regains his composure. "Wererats? Us? No..." he says with a sideways look towards Crunch and his bag.
Mickey shakes his head. "Ok well keep that thing closed you don't want to be blamed for anything. Well I'm happy to split the gold with you, less the cost of the horses and wagons of corse. Well tomorrow is good enough to start our investigation. Let's enjoy tonight." He raises up his glass in toast.
At this ti.e the bar keep walks over to Maz.
"The other bard took off during your last set. Need you back on stage the crowd is getting restless"
Maz looks around and sees the crowd wants more. He goes back to stage and puts the pipe of the sewers on the back burner. He plays on the night until he and the group can get a rest and prepare for the adventures of tomorrow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The rest of the night goes well. Sam trades stories with yall about the past few weeks. He is fascinated with Bon Bon and commits multiple times he wishes he was there.
Maz you play 3 more sets before the barkeep finally rings the last call giving you a break. You go to collect your tips when you realize the bard from earlier stole away with mist of it but you still got a modest 33 from the second half of the night.
The next morning the party meets mickey in the main room over breakfast.
"Morning hope yall slept well. Today we do my first real job. I'm excited I know yall are old hats to this by now but not me."
He smiles.
"So the job dealing with the Rats. I don't have much I fo so far but the magistrate thinks they are coming from the aqueducts. So we could dive right in or go try to find more info.. um where should we start?"
Maz continues to play some songs for the crowd before taking a break back over with the group.
Crunchface nods agreement and takes a concermingly large drink.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
He takes it all inas he watches.

Mickey takes a long drink when his ale arrives.

Crunchface shrugs. “Fight rats with rats?” He points to his bag of endless rats.

Marley chuckles as Crunch points at his bag. "Well, we could use 500 gold..."

Crunchface thankfully has the bag tucked under his cloak where it’s not easily visibly. “I know nothing of wererats.”

"More info might be wise, see what we're getting into..." Marley says thoughtfully as he takes a sip of coffee.
(19 gold or silver?)
Maz wakes up and is noticeably more sullen than previous night. Whatever reprieve he had had from the dagger seems to have washed away.
