DM: Crunch you saw the entrance to the cave and the robed man from the rat nest inside using the artifact to conduct a ceremony. Nothing else as everything was too blurry outside the focal points described

After resting Maz started playing around with the cards. He picked up simple flourishes and shuffles rather quickly. Before long he realized the cards ability to hold onto the power of his words. Maz decided for fun to imbue one card with a spell (sleep) as a trick to have up his sleeve.
Maz Cartonancer hidden act: imbue card used.
As the group eyes the cards Maz smiles and nods at Marley’s gesture. He flicks the card seemingly out of nowhere into his hands. “I could give them a nap if needed.” He chuckles softly to himself.
Sam whispers "I'm not very stealthy but we should try to take those two guards out before the alert anyone inside. I can use a bow from a safe distance. Do either of you have any tricks we could use for this?"
The party is in a tree line 120 feet from the cave. The cave is set into the side of a large hill. There is no obvious way to sneak up. If you took the time you might be able to move around climb up above the entrance and attack but you see no obvious way to do that from your current position. And it would take a bit of time to do so.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Hmmm, combat may make noise an alert others.” Maz ponders for a second before looking at the others. “Cover me. If they swing, you swing harder.” He smiles and then sneaks out. A few moments later the group would see him much dirtier than he had just been, with this on his hair, as he sprints up to the guards shouting “HELP!! The rats, they’ve followed the robed one. There’s hundreds of them. They’ve taken out the southern watch…” he gasps for air “they… need your help”. Maz would then fall to a knee in exhaustion. “I couldn’t stop it.”
The two guards look at each other. Guard A completely buys your act.
"Quick call for the others we have to go help!" He goes to run into the cave but the other guard stops him.
"Robed one?... Master Malak told us of the rats.... but what is this of a southern watch?" Guard 2 grips his sword.
Guard 1 "Relax you know they never tell us of any more then we have to know there probably was a southern watch. Hey let's just ask em the code and then go kill some rats I'm bored out here."
Guard 2 "Fine but we are not leaving that's death and you know it" He turns to you.
Sam says I’ll take the guy on the right, you take the one on the left. Sam will use Giants might. When he’s ready, Sam will use his inspiration and fire his bow
Marley lets his arrow loose at the guard on the right (if I'm interpreting the rules correctly Advantage for being hidden and Disadvantage for shortbow range cancel each other out).

Going to do things a little different for this fight. Like block initiative post when you can at least once a day preferably but I'll resolve in initiative order. to speed things up I rolled for Maz and Sam.
Round 1:
Order: Guard 1, Maz, Marley, Sam, Crunch, Guard 2
Guard 1. The guard moves forward 30 ft. 90 ft away. Casts spiritual weapon.
A translucent figure holding a scythe rises out of the ground and starts moving towards the woods. 60 ft away
Y'all are up post when able.

You see two guards.
Are people guarding a cave ever up to any good?
(Good point)
Is there cover to sneak up to the cave entrance?

"I suppose that is best option," Marley frowns as he looks at the hillside. "I could climb up there but would take too much time maybe."
