Mrs Brown: Tell them about those old ruins dear. I bet some new nasty thing has taken up resistance there.
Mr Brown: Not this again. You can't blame all the world's problems on those ruins. The boys probably just helping out on the Littkeroot or Clarkson farms and forget to check in. Won't be the first time.
Mrs Brown: You say that but those bandits came from there and the Rats that one time.
Mr Brown: That was like 10 years ago and its been quite since. I bet the boys go play over there all the time. Don't you boys.
Boy 1: Nope place too creepy for me.
Boy 2: I don't like going that close to Mr Clarkson's farm. He is mean.
Mrs Brown: Enough of that now he is a good neighbor. We have to stick together this far from town.
Marley's ears prick up, "Ruins you say? What type of ruins? Where are they?" He tries not to sound too overly excited but probably does a poor job of it.

Mr Brown: oh I don't know what about type but it used to be a temple or something. One of those holy orders maybe of the old empire. Not been there since I was a kid but I remember a stature of a Knight.
Maziara is intrigued by the thoughts of these ruins. “I’m sure they were a sight to see back in the day! It might be worth checking out. At least we’d get a little sight seeing in.”
Marley can barely sleep that night as thoughts about the ruins churn through his mind. He tries not to keep the others awake with his restlessness as he tosses and turns in the haypile in Farmer Brown's barn. He's up before the dawn, going through and organizing and re-packing his gear in the yard outside the barn door.
The party enjoys a warm breakfast before setting out.
Marley is easily able to fund the tracks. The party follows them for about an hour across Farmer Brown's fields then through the woods.
As the woods start to thin you can see smoke in the air. You come upon a clearing of a farm.
Small fires burn the crop among the slaughtered animals. A house overlooks the feilds on a small hill to the east. A barn in semi ruin is on the north side tucked against the edge of the forest.
There are dead bodies laying in the feild. 5 creatures picking over the bodies see you can charge.
Maziara’s ears perk up at the Draconic language. It’s been a while since he heard it, but he understands what they say. “More of them?” He says confused as he readys himself for battle. “They seem hungry guys. Be careful.”

Marley moves in to the nearby underbrush or trees taking cover as he readies his bow (using Cunning Action to take a Bonus Action to Hide). He then fires an arrow at the kobold closest to the rest of the party.
Stealth:17
Shortbow: Attack: 20 Damage: 6
If he is successful at gaining Advantage and Sneak Attack here are the rolls:
(Oh no, four whole damage. If only I had a free casting of a spell like Color Spray that I could use to blind some of them on my turn to prevent further damage to us. What ever shall we do?)

Maziara takes the hit and rolls to the side. Knowing he’s got some cover from Marley in the trees, Maziara moves toward the kobolds with the slings. Once he’s within 15 ft he positions himself away from the rest of his squad and begins to chant, and thunder begins to boom. He casts thunderwave at both the sling using kobolds.
con save of 14 or take damage: 12
