"That freakish scarecrow is not one of my subjects. I have some information that could help you, but I need the Trio to do me a favor. I need you to return this book to Bavlorna secretly. I was able to procure this book from a thief and now it should be returned to Bavlorna. Though you need a change of clothing as you seem singed. Head to my palace and my servants should be able to find finer clothes that should fit." (D11) say King Gullop XIX
Valrieth turns to look at Finley and Gan-Re. Her ears are standing straight up and look stiff with alarm. She's still in her archer starry form, but you know that it won't last much longer.
Turning back to the king, Val hops forward to take custody of the book. As she does so, she asks, "We just need to return this book to Bavlorna Blightstraw without her finding out that you had it? And in exchange, you will give us information that you believe will help us in our Quest?" Val glances down at the book to see whether she can read a title or tell what kind of book it is.
"Well that is easy enough. When you say secretly do you also mean from Bavlorna so they dont notice. Can we just hand it over to her or shall we be sneaky about putting it back"

Looking up from the book, Valrieth speaks her next thought out loud: "But....we don't even know where Bavlorna lives." Embarrassed, she says what she meant to ask: "Could you direct us to Bavlorna's home, your majesty, or have one of your subjects take us there?"
The King points to the center of town in a heavily mist shrouded area "Her home is there. She well open the way if you say you wish to make a bargain. I do strongly recommend getting new clothes as you attire is rather unsightly" says King Gullop XIX
“Ah’d prefer not ta make a bargain with her, but if saying so is the only way in we’d have to renege on the deal to do so.” Finley says tugging at his beard.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While Gan-Re and Finley talk to the king, Valrieth looks around at the other bullywugs to see whether there's any sign from them. Are they paying attention? Anything in their demeanor to indicate their thoughts on their king, the Trio, or this mission that they've been given?
The knights are standing at attention and some are conversion of their own while others takes a passing interest in the party. As nobles they are prone to schemes, but none seem directed at you.
The party heads to the Palace across the small strip of land. This ramshackle hall is built around a big tree. Two of the tree’s limbs reach out through the walls like enormous welcoming arms. The interior of the hall is roomy, with an open floor plan that allows occupants of the upper story to look out over the lower one. Bullywug courtiers crowd into the space, filling it with their guttural croaks. There is an upper and a lower level submerged # inches in the swamp water.
There are 2 guards and a crocodile guarding the entrance. They open the doors for the Trio and 2 courtiers peel off from the crowd and approaches the Trio. "Welcome to the Sunken Palace "The king sent word you would need a new set of clothing, come follow us." the 2 courtiers lead the Trio to the royal clothier where there is an Eldery Bullywug female sew new outfits. Behind her or many fine clothing with frills, flounces, and puff sleeves. One of the courtier speak in a Loud tone "Madam Mosscrown, The King ask you to give these people new clothing. Sorry she is rather hard of hearing." Madam Mosscrown stops her sewing to slowly look at the party. "Come closer so that I may see what I am working with"says Madam Mosscrown as she reaches down and put on her thick glasses.
The party is standing in what ressembles a coat check room as its not a true separate room with door.

Valrieth steps forward uncertainly. Her family was not wealthy, and she has always worn plain, sturdy clothes. Currently, she wears her armor over a shift and then wears a plain brown robe and hood over that. It's true that after the last few days in Hither, her robe is now muddy, blood-stained, and burned, but the puffed sleeves and frills that she sees behind Madam Mosscrown look impractical for an adventurer.
Gan-Re steps forward, he wears very little beyound the straps needed to hang his weapons. "Well I'm unsure how you could improve on my natural plumage, but I am interested to hear your ideas"

"Yes that is right. I suggest you do not open the book as it pertains to Bavlorna." says King Gullop XIX
There is no title on the book.

"Return the book without Bavlorna knowing its gone. That way we may be spared from her wrath." says King Gullop XIX

(OOC: OK. That's all Valrieth needs to know here. If Finley and Gan-Re are done, Val is ready to head to D11.
Heh. After multiple warnings not to bargain with Bavlorna, that definitely would not be my first choice!)

Finley gets the sense that the King is not revealing everything to the party, but is considering helping them if they do this favor.

When Finley and Gan-Re are done, Val is ready to head to D11.
Finley nods and performs the bow again as best he can, "We'll take our leave then, highness." He looks ready to head on as well.

For reference and just imagine there is an Elderly Bullywug working behind the counter.
