As I said before, if Finley thinks that it's safe, Val's suggestion is that she, Hisa, and Finley get in the portable hole and then have Gan-Re fold it up and fly down to the ground below. Then he can open it up and help them back out.
Valrieth asks Finley again, "What did you think of my idea for letting Gan-Re fly down with us in the portable cave? Do you think that we'd survive if Gan-Re folded up the portable cave while we were inside? Or did you have a better idea for getting down to the swamp?"
Val also suggests that everyone eat 1 Goodberry so that they don't have to spend too much time today foraging. After having all of their other food vanish over night, she's worried that the goodberries might disappear before they have a chance to eat them.
Gan-Re gives Val a small bow and says "Thank you Val for sharing your magic berries, most considerate. I may save mine until later, as I sometimes get a bit grumpy if I don't find fresh meat and part of the fun of travelling is trying new things and creatures. I'm not sure how the magic hole works, Lady Hasahi is the expert on these things. However I am happy to carry holes, people or equipment. Others eyes seem better than mine and I am happy to carry Lady Hasahi or yourself outside of the hole". Gan-Re places the Goodberry into his pouch.

"Hmm, ah believe as long as we aren't in th' hole fer a long time we should be fine, as long as we land rather quickly as our stuff doesn't seem ta be damaged while it's in there but ah dunnae know how much air is available. Ah do have a magic rope ah made last night just in case though, aye?" Finley pats the coiled rope hanging from his belt, "Thank ye fer th' berry Ms. Valrieth." He eats it and goes to peek over the side again. "Alicorns, unicorns, riddles, hags.. It seems we've a mystery ta solve and sounds as if we should find a unicorn and ask what an alicorn is. Is this so called queen Zybilna or someone else entirely? That information is very important, so anything dealin' with those clues we should pay attention ta, but not let it lead us astray." "I am happy to carry holes, people or equipment. Others eyes seem better than mine and I am happy to carry Lady Hasahi or yourself outside of the hole"
Valrieth says, "Thank you, Gan-Re! I thought about asking you to carry us down one at a time, but then one of us will have to wait alone on the ground for a minute, and the last one down will have to wait alone on the causeway for you to come back. Prismeer doesn't seem that dangerous, yet, but I thought that it would be safer to stick together for now until we learn more about this realm. That's why I was thinking of riding carrying us down all at once in the portable cave. But I guess Gan-Re would just have to make sure to get us back out before we run out of air!"
"Ah do have a magic rope ah made last night just in case though, aye?" Finley pats the coiled rope hanging from his belt,
Val asks, "How long is the rope? Would it get us all the way down to the ground? Or at least far enough down to land somewhere stable?"
Val is nervous about both plans (Gan-Re carries everyone down in the portable hole or Gan-Re flies down while the rest uses Finley's rope to climb down), and she'll acquiesce to whichever approach the rest of the party prefers. If she has to break a tie, she'll vote for using the portable cave. In either case, she suggests that they check it first. If they're climbing down, tie the rope up on the causeway and then have Gan-Re see how far down it goes and maybe swing on the end to make sure that it's stable. If they're going down in the portable hole, she suggest that Gan-Re flies down and ensures that there's a spot of dry, solid ground at least 6' in diameter where he could spread out and reopen the portable cave for them.)

"Yes, our focus all day yesterday was just on getting to Prismeer. Now that we're here, we're still on the same quest, but it's almost like starting over. We have a whole new set of puzzles and questions! But I guess we first need to learn more about this realm: who rules it, what's it's history, what are the dangers, and can we find enough to eat and drink?"
"Th' rope is sixty feet and will latch onta wherever ye tell it ta and if yer worried about climbin' it ye can tell it ta make knots which shortens it ta fifty feet. Could get close ta th' mushrooms with it I reckon, but ah think ah'll ride in th' hole th' more ah think about it. Lotsa weight on these ol' bones." Finley grins.

Gan-Re thinks a bit "I'm not sure how heavy the hole is. Val if you put some of your things in the hole, could we use some of the rope to create a harness so that I can carry you separately. That way you can help keep a look out and do some magic if required."

Valrieth is confused, "I thought that the portable cave weighed almost nothing no matter what we put in it."
"Oh! Yes, maybe that's a good idea. In case there's a problem when we land, one of us can 'hold off' the enemies while the other one opens the portable cave so that Finley and Hisa can get back out."
If it's all clear below, I guess Gan-Re is big enough to help Hisa and Finley back out. If there's a problem, Val or Gan-Re can keep one end of the rope of climbing and toss the other end down into the hole. That way, if there's a tree or something nearby, Finley can use the command to have the rope tie itself securely. They can use the rope to get out of the hole themselves in case Val and Gan-Re are busy dealing with some creature or other denizens of Prismeer.
Have the mists cleared up? Val still wants Gan-Re to take one trip down below the causeway by himself first to make sure that it's not just all water below them. "But don't wander too far alone!" They need a 6' diameter patch of solid ground (or a really big mushroom top) where they can unfold the portable hole. They don't want to trap Hisa and Finley in the hole for too long before getting it opened up again, so they don't want to have to spend a long time looking for a place to unfold it.
(OOC: Val doesn't really know anything about tying knots, but maybe someone with survival could rig up a harness or at least tie off a loop with a bowline knot that would hold Val secure enough for the 100' descent? Val can put her backpack in the hole for the trip down. Without her backpack, Val + her other gear should only weigh ~ 60 pounds.)
"Can't it jus be simple? I mean I can climb down no? Like scaling cave walls and stuf mhm. but happy to go into the spoopy hole for a few minutes... les go" she says as she looks over the edge of the causeway taking in the goodberry as she does so.

Valrieth looks over the edge at the long drop. She steps back from the ledge, smiles weakly, and says, "Well, we don't all have as much experience climbing as you do, Hisa."
If Gan-Re flies down to check for solid ground below, Val munches on her Goodberry while Finley and Hisa tie the rope into some sort of harness for her.
If a skill check is required to create a sort of harness for carrying Val, she will consult her star chart and cast guidance on whomever is tying the rope. She has incentive to make sure that the harness is solid! (OOC: I guess that it would be a survival or maybe an INT check. For survival, it works best if Hisa ties the loops / harness and Finley provides help. it should be hard to fail with advantage (help) + 1d4 (guidance).)
Then I think that we're ready for "Operation Air Lift."
(Intelligence check to know how to make a harness 8 in game log.)
Finley scratches the side of his face. "Ah'm not sure we needta be so complicated," He tells his Rope of Climbing to secure itself to something at the edge of the causeway above the mushrooms and to make itself into knots which allows it to be 50' in length. "Ah'll help construct somethin' like tha' but ah'm thinkin' o' just climbin' down, th' mushrooms could be a soft landing fer someone anyways."He looks over the side again and puts his hands on his hips facing everyone else. "Kinda wanna try me new toy."
Finley will offer help to anyone who wants to make a harness.
"Well time and light waits for no-one. Anyone into the hole who wants and I can carry Val".
Gan-Re puts his Quaterstaff, leftover rope and torches in the hole.
As soon as everyone is ready and strapped in then Gan-Re takes off with the hole, holding a Javelin in one hand, and flying guard on anyone who is climbing.
Just before everyone chooses how to head down you spot a great balloon made of patchwork material off in the distance. It spins out of control as though punctured, causing the wicker basket that hangs from it to swing wildly. The balloon plunges out of sight, disappearing into the fog approximately a mile away. Towards the Slanting tower.

Plus the giant mushrooms will catch anyone who falls.
