The mind flayer moves closer to the nearest combatant, Vishnu, and csn catch everyone in the area if the mind blast, however, without line of sight to thise remaining in the hallway before the cathedral, they would be shielded from the effect.
Since I don't explicitly know if Quadere and Vendelen are in the hallway or the cathedral, itself, I'll let the players decide. It might seem obvious, but it's not my place to say.

Because the pbp flow is slower thsn real life and this creative approach should be rewarded, not punished, I rule that Vishnu is immune to Mind Blasts from Mind Flayers for 1 minute, so no saving throw required at this time.

"Unleash your most powerful spell on the fighter." He commands, before falling back to the southeast corner if the room, near the portal.

<This is a psionic version of dominate monster. My ruling on psionic effects is that they aren't spells and cannot be counterspelled by the spell of that name, but countercharm, which Ven can also perform does work here.>

Vendelen rushes into the cathedral behind Kandalou, longbow drawn, taking aim at the airborne aberration abd looses a pair of arrows.

No. If you succeed on the save, you resist the mind blast's effects completely: you take no damage and are not stunned.
