Oreus hails to the others at the table with a soft smile but then he melts into masculine hugs at everyone.
Oreus is a strong built human, with short brown hair and brown eyes, nevertheless he cannot hide some fat on the belly and on his round face. His character is friendly, jovial, respectful but very responsible when into something he is interest in. You all know is good at fighting with his distinctive helmet with a red crest and his long weapon (usually a glaive)
Indeed, like you know, he is a sweet mouth, maybe also because of his grandparents who owned a famous oven and bakery in Ash avenue. At his birth they invented a new biscuit for the sake of their new nephew: a double chocolate biscuit with vanilla inside, in the shape of a button.
In his youth Oreus helped his father as a fisherman by the lake but was later noticed by the chult of Kord and became a paladin.
The interviews take place in a house in Ash Avenue (from now on our headquarter).
On both interviews the party offers a tray with biscuits and tea (it actually looks more like a tea party)
While interviewing Irena, Oreus tries not to be spotted while looking at her cleavage.
Interview ending well:
"We indeed need some Arcana and magic knowledge, welcome to the party.
If you need magical supplies, there is a shop we trust.
In the meanwhile, here, take this potion (POTION OF HEALING), I am sure you know what it is"
While interviewing Vuntuk, he smiles:
"We had a front fighter but we took different roads.
I see you are a follower of Moraddin. Gods' help will be necessary!
Moreover, I have some equipment that may suit you..."
showing:
- a full plate
- a dwarvish weapon (better described at page 1 ooc thread)
" See, these did not come into our hands easily...actually quite the opposite.
If you want them, you must solemnly swear to use them for the good of the party and
well, I cannot ask you pay them back but every now and then your own money flowing into the common safe will be gladly accepted "(Oreus wants to test if the wdarvish greed he heard of is true or not)
Rellahne is a thinly built half-elf, standing at a small 5'4'', she wears robes, cerulean in color, which are made of fine material and have some amber decorations all around her clothing and tan upper sleeves on both of her arms. Behind her sits a cape that matches in color to the amber decorations of her robes. She has long brown hair that reaches her waist, but two braids fall from behind her face, crossing her neck and standing on her chest. She has a brown bag and two pouches, one to each side of her hips.
She's present during both interviews, always being serious and professional. Keeping eye contact with the interviewees for as long as it makes sense. During Irena's interview, Rellahne takes an unease instance about her addition to the team. "Our skills, yours and mine, are overlapping. I'm quite an abled source of information on the arcane, and I could've well been an investigator myself, had I more time between my studies and entering this group. I recommend you work in these areas with me instead of alone, lest we get in each other's ways."
Her view on Vuntuk's addition is a lot more ready and accepting as a logical decision. "Just the fact you handle yourself in heavy armor and carry a shield tells me you'll add something we need. Though I've not studied it at length, I understand religion better than most, so I hope that's not the focus of your skills. Hopefully, I can instead trust your strong arms and blessings if Moradin is really on your side."
During the Interview Vuntuk holds the gaze of whoever is talking with his dark gray eyes.
"Ya'r darn right yo are. Ah can handle maself better than most in battle, ah'm not one o' them soft skinned elven pansies."He looks at Rellahne.
"No offence! And of course ah've a lot of knowledge about religion, ah'm a damned cleric, what did ya expect? But a lot of ma worshiping of Moradin, ah do with ma hammer, either in the forge or on the battlefield. Ah'm a quit a skilled smith. See that armor ah'm wearing? Ah made that one ma self, so if ya need anything metal for ya group, ah can make it. Nothing is betta to praise the soul forger than ah fine piece of craftsmanship still hot from the forge. Ah'm also capable with masonry but ah don't think ya going to wont meh to build ah house or make a statue ah guess."
When Oreus brings up the plate armor, Vuntuk is inspecting it closely and then responds:
"That armor is made well enough and it would sure offer more protection than ma own ah must say. Ah like how they made the plates overlap at the joints. Ahn armor like that should run ya at least one and a half thousand gold pieces and ya'r right, ah can't afford paying ya for it and ah'd hate being in dept to ya. However ah'd be fine wearing it, not owning it. Ah'll take care of it's maintenance and wear it in battle but it'll still belong to the Bastards. Would that be okay with ya?"
He keeps going on inspecting and talking about the armor and forging techniques and it almost seems to forget about the others in the room until Oreus takes out the Dwarven Urgrosh and Vuntuks lengthy explanations trail off as he stares at the weapon in silence for a moment.
"Now that's ah .... How did ya come by a masterpiece like that one if ah may ask."
Vuntuk walks over to Oreus and takes the weapon, not asking for permission. He inspects it closely and then starts swinging it in a series of quick strikes that belong to his basic warmup routine and then change into a series of thrusts. Then he returns it to Oreus.
"Ah remarkabe piece ya have there indeed. Ah don't think ah'd be able to make one that well and that means ah lot. It's balanced just right to make it comfortable to use as ahn axe and ah spear. Beautiful...ah'm already rewarded by getting a chance to look at ah fine piece like that but ah'm not sure if ah can take it. Ah weapon like that, ya have to earn for ya self. So if ya can make use of it, keep it and ah'm going to earn meh the right to wield it. If ya can't make good use of it, then get ya darn hands of it."
Shadow stands 6' tall. He has dark blue skin and a 5' long thick tail. His eyes are slit vertically like a cats and a deep red, his hair is also a deep dark red color. While he appears to have normal teeth like a human when he talks you notice his tongue seems longer than normal and is split like a demons. 2 small goat like horns protrude from the top of his forehead. To the truly observant they realize that inexplicably he appears to cast no shadow. Around his neck is a chain with an ancient looking key hanging from it. While he looks thin and almost frail at times, closer inspection can reveal while not overly strong, he has trained for speed, dexterity, and lithe muscle that would make him a formidable opponent
Shadow is mostly quiet during the interview just observing the interaction between everyone. He finally chimes in at the end "this town obviously has some dark secrets. The papers wrote of heroes and villains but the truth is much murkier. It was a hard fought struggle to survive down below in the place we found. I dont imagine it will be easier on the road ahead. Prepare yourselves for a challenge and be ready to face what comes and we will succeed together. Welcome to the Bastards. "

Vuntuk is out of words for a moment, staring at the weapon and the armor in front of him. The only motion you can see is the smoke that is slowly curling upwards from his pip. Warily his eyes start to wander from the equipment to the members of the bastards as he is not sure what to think of a group of people handing out arms worth thousands of gold pieces to a stranger they just met. He shakes his head for a second.
"Humans.....ya sure don't lose any time do ya? Well, ah'll see to that those (he points to the weapon and plate) will be put ta good use and for good ah'll use 'em."
Tyris also remains mostly silent during the interviews, but welcomes the newcomers once the group has chosen. The ranger is about average height and appears to have had a rough upbringing, with signs of a hose that's been broken before and some visible scars. His leather armor is scuffed and looks to have seen plenty of use. His array of weapons show similar signs of wear, though appear well cared for.
On Irena's appearance: She is a tall, slim human woman, with dark eyes and dark hair habitually pulled up into a bun or another simple updo. Her manner of dress is very formal for the interview, long skirt, high neckline. (No, Oreus you don't get to see her boobies!)
She listens more than she talks, asking as many questions as she answers while still giving you the responses you want.
"I appreciate the offer to join, and I'm sure I can make a contribution."
A few days after formally joining the group, Irena visits her lodgings to settle her account and secure her belongings.
As she returns to the headquarters, she finds Shadow, and presses an open envelope into his hand.
"We might have a job," she says.

Rellahne will also give priority to the information on the letter, though she hopes to investigate the crocodile problem when it seems most appropriate, given they have enough time.
((Since it seems like there has been a few days of downtime between the new recruits joining and the arrival of the latter, Vuntuk would have taken the plate to a forge for "ah few improvements" and when he comes back with it, it has the same rusty color his previous armor had and the helmet has the same silver emblem of a hammer with silver band running around the while thing. Also he changed it in a few places to adapt it better to his body.( If you let me do that during those days.)))
Vuntuk listens to the story pf the groups previous adventures mostly in silence and just occasionally mutters a few words into his beard like "unbelivable" or "by the All-Father ...it's been there all along". After the story telling comes to an end he looks at the others and says:
"Ah wish ah had joind ya ah little bit earlyer. Ah really would have liked to see that place of mah ancestors with mah own eyes."

Shadow leads the group to the Town Hall and asks to speak will Terseon Skellerang, saying that he might have a job for you, and shows the attendant your note. The attendant leads you to a small, but well furnished office and and announces you.
Terseon is sitting at a disk filling out paperwork and looks up. He is a thin, but very muscular blonde human man in his forties.
As he looks up hus face breaks into a smile and he greets Irena by name and then asks for who is the leader of the group. Upon hearing that Shadow is the unofficial leader, he directs his following statements more towards Shadow.
"There is a 'possible' goblin infestation in the city. I can't really send my soldiers and guards on a goblin hunt right now. Would you be interested in tracking down their lair, if indeed there us a lair? I am authorized to pay 5 Gp per goblin you bring my. Yes I know that this is a little bit gruesome, but the Lord Mayor wants some proof that the problem if it really exists is dealt with.
Rellahne listens in, giving no care that it was directed at Shadow, as she had her own words to say. "And if the problem doesn't exist, we come back with no goblins and get paid nothing? Is that the implication? I'm personally fine with that. I do not require the coins you have to spare, though it'd only be fair that a reward still exists for us confirming that the city is safe. Would you agree?"
Moreover, do you think that this goblin thing is connected with the vandals written in the last herald? Or something else? Please share the information you have so we can have a full picture"
He replies to Rellahne "Well there is something going on, and it’s true that there have been some goblin vandalism has incurred. My guards have killed six goblins themselves. But unlike the Lord Mayor, I don't believe that it is a coordinated goblin uprising. I can give you a flat 50 Gp, if you can prove that this is simply rumors getting out of hand, and a little bit of teenage pranksters. I believe that the papers are trying to sell copies, and the Lord Mayor is buying into thier hysteria" The last said with a nod at Oreus. "Is far as to what is really going on. There have been a few sightings of goblins appearing at night in gangs of 3 to 6 humanoids armed with short swords and light crossbows, however every night they have been reported it on cloudy, overcast, or foggy nights. Several warehouses have been vandalized, robbed, and graffiti has been written in feces in an unfamiliar language, possibly Goblin. There have been sightings of goblins all over town, but most of of the witnesses, can't confirm that they saw goblins. Unfortunately whatever is going on is getting worse, as people are starting to get attacked and robbed, if they are out and about at night. Here again, most don't give a clear description of their attackers, saying that they were overwhelmed by a group of smallish humanoids speaking in an unknown language. Is far as I know, no one has been killed, but it might only be a matter of time, if this is really a goblin uprising, but as I said, I believe that there have been a few real goblin sightings, and someone else is taking advantage of the stories."
