With the call to retreat, Windarë slips the Murkmire Stone into her pouch, making extra sure it is secure, then heads down the stairs for the basement and the secret passage out. (Using DASH as her action to go quickly.)
Dubh is torn between surrendering to the guards since he was abandoned by his crew or trying to go to and hold the door to try to cover their escape, hoping he can somehow find his own and at least get paid for this job.
Dubh’s greed wins out over his senses and he backs his way back to the curators office (I believe it should be in movement range…) He backs just through the threshold of the door in hopes that it will stop the statue and clog up the guards. Once there Dubh uses the dodge action to hopefully delay things a bit…
Windarë makes it down the stairs and about halfway across the basement, however she quickly realizes that the egg is too big to fit in her pouch (it’s about the size of a rugby ball).
Round 7 starts:
With the exception of Dubh, the crew has started to retreat. Dubh remains in the Grand Entrance where the remaining guards are regrouping while an animated statue attacks anything in sight.
(Ooc not sure how close I am to the basement stairs at this point and pulling up the maps on my phone is a pain...if I can't make it to where I say just assume that I make progress in that direction)
Joorin continues his merhodical retreat, planning to make it to the top of the stairway heading down into the basement before again looking back for the two crew members that are still on the main floor with him.
"Luci, Dubh, come on...let's go!"
Held action to cast firebolt at any guards or other hostile that come into line of sight.

Dubh takes up a defensive position in the doorway to the Curator’s office. The statue gives chase and swings at him once with each arm. The first swing misses but the second hits him in the upper body for 5 damage and he falls to the floor.
Guards 10 & 11 join the other guards near the door to the records room. The five of them manage to stabilize Craig who is no longer bleeding now. They also take up defensive stances, keeping their distance from the statue so as not to draw its attention while they speak in hushed tones, formulating a plan to take down the interlopers.
From their positions in the Records room, Joorin, Luci, and Parr all witness Dubh going down.
(In light of this development I will ask Joorin and Parr to confirm or revise their turns before I continue the round)
( Parr has a strength of 8...she couldn't move Dubh even if she wanted to....which she kinda doesn't based on the slaughter. She still heads for the basement. The stone is way more important than us.)
Seeing Dubh drop, Joorin realizes there is nothing he can bring to bear that will assist...what is needed is Windare's magics, but she has already retreated further into the basement with the mirkstone.
Instead of stopping to turn and wait for the others, Joorin continues in the retreat, trying to catch Windare to encourage her to turn around and save their fallen partner.
(Let's ditch the held action and take a dash instead to head further into the retreat...not sure where I am at at this point and if I make it to the stairs or if I would still be in one of the three rooms on the side...)
"Windare! Dubh is down...we need you up here. I'm all for getting out of here, but I would love it if all of us could make it out."

Windarë hands off the Stone to Joorin. "I'll see what I can do." She quickly turns and goes back up the stairs to locate Dubh. (I am assuming she cannot reach him this round with just standard movement. She will DASH if necessary to get close enough to be able to reach him next round. Coming into the room, she will stay back somewhat to try and maintain cover from anyone that might be out in the Grand Hall.
In a desperate attempt to save the tiefling from being beaten into a pulp by the mindless statue, Luci swiftly places his Hex (Int) on the statue, then touching his ring again, calling upon his eldritch magic to create an image of of a closed door in front of the statue, hoping it will turn it's attention to the remaining guards, then moving towards the tunnel but staying just within sight of Dubh, hoping Windarë will be able to get the tiefling on his feet again.
As an illusionary door appears out of thin air in front of the statue, it does not appear to doubt the illusion.
Suddenly Windarë appears back on the scene just as quickly as she left.
Round 8 starts:
Five guards and an animated statue occupy the Grand Entrance with several other guards lying in various places on the floor.
Luci and Dubh are in the Curator’s office mere feet away from the statue with only an illusion separating them. Windarë is in the Records room with a clear view of Dubh on the floor. Joorin and Parr are in the basement with the egg.
(Dubh make a death save please to start off the round)
From his position in the Curator’s office, Luci can see a guard approach the animated statue. As the construct turns toward him with hostile intentions, he begins to lead it to the west. It is clear that the statue is much slower than the guards making it easy to safely lead it away. When it has cleared the area outside the office, three more guards appear and begin to stabilize their fallen colleagues. Luci can clearly see all of this through his illusionary door, but the guards also have no reason to doubt the illusion so they cannot see through it. Several guards remain unaccounted for, not visible from Luci’s position.
Parr materialised out of the shadows next to Joorin looking at Windare in frustration, " Joorin a guard made it outside, city guard could be on the way now! If we don't take the Stone now they can cut off our escape and all of this stupidity and death will have been for nothing....damn it I could have been halfway there by now if I hadn't tried to stop them...we...you...need to GO NOW!"
" I'm going to go turn myself in. It'll keep this lot busy enough that they won't head after you and hopefully it will mean no one else dies...."
" No one needed to die tonight, not a one."
" GO!"
She turned and headed back up the stairs and into the records room, heading for the door into the main entry, she was unarmed and held her hands open at her side as she moved.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Windarë will move to where Dubh lies, trying to make sure to not disturb Luci's illusion. She casts Cure Wounds on him (heal for 6 hp). Then, yryingbto help Dubh retreat, she moves back into the office as much as she can.
Assuming Windarë manages to bring Dubh back to the living, Luci gives the tiefling a firm hand and helps him up. "Time to leave." He says with a quick smile, then moving as quickly as he can towards the secret tunnel.
Accepting the burden of the stone, which to everyone else was cumbersome...Joorin wraps his arms around it...fingertips barely meeting on the other side.
"Sure, make the smallest and slowest of the group be the bagman...makes sense."
He turns to leave just as Parr appears from the shadows and tells him their plan. "Don't go making yourself a jailbird for nothing. We might still make it out before the guards show, and there is no reason to suspect they know about the secret entrance!"
They dart up the stairs leaving him in the basement alone with the stone/egg. He hopes his words reach them, but the best thing to do now really is to run as they said.
Going as quickly has his legs can carry him, Joorin gives the corner with the strange crates a wide berth and heads into the tunnel out to meet their employer.

Joorin continues making his escape with the egg. He makes part of the way down the long escape tunnel.
Parr arrives back in the Records Room just in time to see Windarë healing Dubh. She then sees Luci reach out to help the tiefling to his feet and hears him proclaim that it is time to leave.
At the sound of Windarë’s spell being cast, Luci sees one of the guards beyond the illusionary door look in the direction of the Curator’s office, seeming to stare directly at his companions. The suspicious guard taps his colleague on the shoulder and whispers something to him, gesturing at the door.
Round 9 Starts:
Luci, Windarë and Dubh are in the Curator’s office with Parr close by in the Records room. Dubh is prone but conscious once again.
Several guards can be seen by Luci through his illusionary door with several others unaccounted for.
Joorin, meanwhile, is in the escape tunnel, in the process of extracting the egg.
Waking up Dubh blinks and shakes their head in order to get their bearings. That was probably a mistake, he decides, as his head quite vehemently lets its displeasure be known. Climbing back to his feet (half movement) Dubh closes and kicks the actual door.
“Run, you fools!” He calls out, turning to look at the others in the curator’s office and he spends the rest of his movement, action, whatever to try to usher everyone else out towards the guard office, closing and locking doors behind him. But mostly he’s ensuring he’s at the rear of the group so he can turn and fight off any guards that may catch up.
