He thinks for a moment, "All I need is a security card to get out from being back there to meet up with one of the other teams. That would give away that something more is going on though."
Elovar agrees, "Yes, I think that it would be useful to have an extra security card other than the one our cunning janitor has. That way, we could split into two groups who have access in and out of the secured doors. I'm no pickpocket, but if someone else could help distract a guard or employee, I may be able to 'lift' their security card. Though that would probably be safer if we were doing it at the start of the heist when one of us is already cloaked with invisibility."
(OOC: IIRC, both Elovar and Falkas have proficiency in sleight of hand. Combining inspiration or guidance and help would give them an 85% chance of rolling 15 or higher. I like those odds!)
"Me! Me me me me me!" Sorith pipes up, raising a hand in the air and bouncing a bit in her seat like an excited child hoping to be called on in class. Her expression changes to one of disgust, however, before she lets her hand fall back to her lap. "Unless you guys still need me to go back to that damn card game, anyway." As much as she liked the Moores, the card game was boring as all hell and there had been instances where the dragonborn had caught herself nodding off.
"I used to pickpocket for a living, before I went straight." Falkas says, "although it could be possible that I can borrow our janitor's keycard if everyone is on mission at the tournament or circus if we can't find a good target. I could come back into the employee only area once we're ready to start then drop the darkness on the mirror room. Could even beat them up if there's only one or two in there."

Elovar says, "No, I don't think that you need to go back to the card game. Now that Sinak has taken the keys, I think that we want to be long gone before the tournament starts again tomorrow."
(OOC: @KW - While Falkas finishes a short rest, Elovar was going to check on the boats and then try to bring back someone to translate the files from Infernal. Let me know how much you want to role play through the details of that errand.
Or, if the short rest is finished by the time Elovar finishes copying portions of the files, then I guess we could all go upstairs together (check on the boats, find a helpful tiefling, see the circus's midnight show, etc.).)

Elovar finishes copying some of the Infernal from the Sinak's original files, and says, "So, wait, crack the vault, get the statue, and release the lion from the circus. What order are you saying to do those? And do we want to try to stuff the guards in one of the cells, or just go straight to Darkness and chaos?"
"I thought that we were talking about releasing the lion from the circus just as a diversion. That way, if we're running from the guards once we have the statue, the guards would either have to go round up the circus animals, or more likely, the guards would try to follow us but get trapped in the panicked crowd that's running from a lion that's now loose in the casino. Or do you want to do that at the start before we get the statue or get into the vault?"
"I love chaos."Falkas grins, "but we can do it simply, let the circus animals getting loose which would be our cue to do take the statue from the case. Then we meet outside the employee area, I can drop darkness in the camera room, we get into the vault deal with the guardian in there and take as much as we can, meet Vrak and get her outside the city while everyone is trying to catch the animals."

Sinak says “I like your plan Falkas, and I like the chaos aspect of it as well. So, who’s turning the animals loose, the rest of us will meet near the employee area, after they seem disrupted, we will enter and neutralize anyone in the control room, head to the vault room, then statue, then out. Right? Let’s do this!” Sinak looks inside his bucket, returning the items from before there and reaching far down inside, making sure that he can get to his rapier and shield when needed.
“Team chaos on three. One.. two… three!” Sinak kicks the bed that Vrak is in and makes her put her hand in, saying in gnomish, “We are doing this, get ready!”

Elovar interrupts Sinak, "OK. But not yet, right?" He finally stands and folds the sheet of paper now that the ink is dry. He holds up the folded paper and says, "Don't we still want to find someone who can read Infernal for us? We may learn some critical information, like a password to bypass Virgil entirely or information about some other security precaution or trap."
"And if we're going to release the lion (Emrys?) from the circus, shouldn't someone look into how the animals are secured and come up with a way to do that? Is there just a locked cage? Additional guards? More magical wards? Can we get the lion out in between shows? Or do we need to do it during a show?"
"Or, like Falkas, do you prefer to 'make it up as you go along'?", he asks with a smile.

(OOC: I'm eager to get started, and conversations take a long time when posting in the forum. I'm not sure whether enough time has passed "in game" for Falkas to complete a short rest, much less a long rest for Vrak. The only time pressure at the moment is getting out before anyone discovers that the keys are missing, but I guess there's still time. In particular, having taken the files, I really think that we should see whether we can translate them before we start. Turning undead on Virgil isn't a bad plan, but if we discover a passphrase to have Virgil ignore us, that would certainly be safer.
@KW doesn't seem like an evil DM who would let the party plan the whole heist, and then have 30 guards show up and arrest us before we even get started. I bet we'll get some hints that we should move things along if we're going too slow. Like, a guard takes Sinak aside to ask whether he's seen a ring of keys anywhere while cleaning because Well'ard seems to have lost them, etc.)
Edited to add: (OOC: We could try to compress things a bit. Wait until the short rest is done. Then have Elovar and maybe Falkas look for someone who speaks Infernal while Sinak helps Sorith get access to the animals. Once Elovar and Falkas have the files translated or fail to find anyone to help, they could wake up Vrak and then join Sinak and Sorith. Once the party is back together, release the lion and let the fun begin. Something like that?)
Falkas laughs, "Let's get that translated real fast, maybe you can see if you can find out how to release the lion and the rest and we meet up to then share notes before going crazy. Don't get me wrong I love chaos, but if I can make more money by learning what's in these papers I like that more." (OOC: That sounds good to me, compressing it and letting us go find out all the stuff before acting on it. ^^)

((I agree. Sinak wouldn’t let Vrak complete a long rest and he would wake up the sleepy gnome. I don’t know that we can trust looking for anyone to speak infernal, we would get turned in by showing these files. I would take the files back and hope for a translation later. Hopefully Sinak can turn the Minotaur. I think after a short rest we should get the party started, turn loose some chaos and see if we can snatch and grab the statue, bonus points if we can get some cash from the vault. It all begins with the lion being let loose.
All of that being said, if you have a thought about who can translate that won’t turn us in, have at it, we can do that in compressed time. Sinak is coming up blank there.))

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If the conversation in the room is finished, Elovar will head back up to the casino either alone or with the group (if the short rest is done or if anyone wants to come with him). As I said before...
Elovar heads out of the room, up the stairs, and initially over to bar to get a drink. Carrying his drink, he'll stroll past the gaming tables around the slots (A3) and to the docks at A1. At the docks, he inquires how return passage works.
Do the boats leave at scheduled times or just as soon as they fill up?
Are they first come, first served, or can he book a return trip ahead of time?
Are return trips covered by the casino or is there a fee?
When he's done at the docks, he'll cross over and wander around the games at A2, finally ending at the lounge. While he walks, he's looking for someone who may be able to translate Infernal:
Any tiefling who is
just watching the games or hanging out at the bar or lounge, especially if they're looking bored
OR not actively gaming, especially if they're alone and looking sad or looking somewhat drunk already
OR playing the slots obsessively, especially if he can find someone who is about to run out of coins / tokens.
Or Nightshade, the tiefling who was playing in the tournament earlier.
The boats are run by different captains. Some have been pre-booked or are owned by nobles. Some boats act as a ferry service and leave at regular times and some will just take the first hire that comes along

"I guess, sure," Sorith mutters to Falkas before glaring after Sinak when the drow leaves. "Is that man deaf or something? I was the one who came up with the idea to free the animals as a distraction along with volunteering, and did he even acknowledge me?! No. He didn't." The dragonborn inhales, her hands clenching into tight fists as lightning crackles around her horns for a few seconds before Sorith slowly exhales, trying to keep herself calm. "We'd better get your grandma up."
