Archie, in her duke disguise, busts through after Corlith, "Late? This one was just following orders, these are MYMEN, in case you are having trouble remembering, and WE have a problem. The constabulary assaulted the house.
I need you four to go and protect what is left, make sure nobody else gets down here. These fine folk here are my specialized back up. They are here to help. We won't be able to drag the city to avernus without them"
Archie quickly points the four cultists out and demands them to leave and protect the mansion. Hopefully leaving the group alone with the devil. Additionally attempting to ingratiate the rest of the group to this devil whilst the cultists leave.
(Rolled 12 for either deception or intimidation, and if DM is willing to grant adv, the 12 remains)
Corlith doesn't break stride as he moves into the room and around the opposite side to that which the fiend stands, allowing room for their Duke to enter, having seen there is no other Duke present.
"You heard the Duke, get moving", he growls to the four cultists kneeling in front of the statue. He doesn't address the fiend, that is for the Duke to do.
Intimidation: 13+7=20 Special: Armor of Agathys thunder damage - 1 hour(ish) remaining, 10 HPs Special: Concentration Detect Evil and Good - 10 minutes(ish) remaining - detects aberration, celestial, elemental, fey, fiend, or undead within 30 feet
Virro steps forward flanking the other side of the Duke, remaining quiet, crossing his arms and nodding. Behind his mask, his lips move but no sound comes out. Sending a message with his earring, he sends to Reed “Devil in here and cultists, trying to send 4 of them out. Don’t let them see you!”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The devil stares at the newcomers as they make their claims and demands. It looks at the wall behind him, then back to the three of you.
While the devil considers your words and actions, the four on the floor do listen to Corlith and scrabble to get out of the room, deeply bowing to the "Duke" as they leave, completely ignoring those they find in the hall, assuming they are the ones that Archie referred to as 'fine folk'.
"You... no, you can't be the Duke, she was right.. you're supposed to be praying." It's face starts to contort with anger as it starts to realize it's been duped. Looking to Corlith and Virro, it's voice starts raising, "This is not your duke, she is a false leader and needs to be eliminated immediately! Do not let her leave!"
Virro turns and acts like he is going to grab the arm of Archie. If she can see his eyes behind his mask, he winks at her, waiting for his chance…. If he can get out a second message he sends back via his earring “Get in here, need your help with a foul tempered devil!”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Roo survives in his own head, silently plodding along on Glory of Morning's back as they make their way along the corridors beneath the Vanthampur house. When Corlith announces that something evil lies beyond the door of the next room, he draws the Owl's Talon and closes his eyes. Two things happen at once.
First, the blade vibrates, the dark aura around it seeming to shake and distort for a moment...
Second, Roo says a short, near silent prayer.
"Gallus, blessed be these three...and remember us."
When the first three of the party enter the room, Roo is able to glimpse the man-sized beast standing in the room...and his feathers bristle...
Then he sees things start to go wrong. Devil's are out of his league and he hopes the others can deal with whatever in the nine hells that thing in the other room is. He focuses on the cult members coming out of the room.
He lets an arrow go straight at one that comes close to one of his companions (Shortbow: (8+7) = 15 for (1+5+4+4) = 14 damage . Then he shouts at the air near his head.
"Stop hassling me and let that one have it." (Wails from the Grave for 2 damage to the next cultist out of the room - if the first attack hit)
Reed then slips backwards into the kitchen, keeping the door ajar to give himself something to hide behind to attack the next target. (Bonus - Cunning Action - Stealth: 7+9= 16)
Reya, a bit confused as to what is going on.. sees several cultist run out the double doors and not attack them. From behind her, Wilfred's glaive suddenly appears and skewers the first one. She is completely perplexed, and then Reed shoots off an arrow, killing another one of them and then the one next to her screams out in pain.
Shrugging, she pulls out her longsword and swipes at the one that screamed in pain. Felling that one in one swing, she swings her longsword at the remaining cultist and slices him across the chest.
Roo doesn't wait, and doesn't care about the fight at the door either. One hand squeezes tight on the reins while the other maintains his grip on his sword, and then Roo goes charging into the room on the back of Glory of Morning. The possum dashes for all she's worth, leaping over the body of one cultist and weaving past another before jetting between Corlith and Archie as Roo goes for the kill.
"Put your eyes upon me, beast!" Roo cries as he moves in close. "See my armor! Know that I will lay you out beneath the gaze of Gallus and Strix! Buck!"
He lashes out with the Owl's Talon...sloppy...but aimed to hook the soft meat of the monster's belly...the blade in his hand weeping shadow and light as he attacks... And then Glory of Morning moves past the fiend as far as she can go before wheeling to the right side of the room and preparing to circle back toward the fiend...
Bonus Action: Hexblade's Curse- Once per short rest, as a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 ft. to curse it for 1 minute (or until the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated). Against the cursed target, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls, score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and you regain 5 HP if it dies.
Action: Shortsword Attack- 16 to hit, 9 damage. If that hits, adding 8 Divine Smite damage on that for 17 damage total
If the attack hits, the fiend is also sheathed in booming energy from Booming Blade and can't move more than 5 feet without taking 1d8 damage.
Movement: Roo should be in the back right corner of the room somewhere now after using Glory of Morning's full 40 feet of movement + 40 feet Dash.
If I did all this correctly... I may have effed this all up...lol
Wilfred watches as all the cultists fall to his friends attacks. "Oh good, we aren't pretending anymore. Let's do this! Oh, one is still standing? That ain't right." Wilfred attacks the last standing cultist as he rushes into the room, running up to try to back up Roo'.
Attack: To Hit 12, Damage 13 Slashing Bonus: To Hit NAT 20!, Damage 10 Bludgeoning Movement: If Cultist is dead, all movement to the middle of the room.
"Times up, fiend. Give our regards to the denizens of whatever hell you came from", Corlith tells the fiend in his native infernal tongue. He infuses the words with venomous spite.
Action: Cast Vicious Mockery on fiend. DC15 Wis Save or take 4 [psychic] damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of it's next turn. Special: Armor of Agathys thunder damage - 1 hour-ish remaining, 10 HPs Special: Concentration Detect Evil and Good - 10 minutes-ish remaining - detects aberration, celestial, elemental, fey, fiend, or undead within 30 feet Special: Bless round 1/10
As Roo comes flying into the room, the remaining cultist attempts to slice his scimitar at Glory of Morning, but misses. Wilfred ends him soon after.
With no more cultists remaining and several eyes upon the devil, the rooster hits him, but his main focus is on the one who is impersonating the Duke. Until the one impersonating a cultist dares to speak to him in his language and psychically pains him in the process!
The barbed devil hisses, then turns his attention to Corlith. In his hands he creates a small ball of flame and hurls it at the hooded tiefling. The words corlith cut through the devil threw off his aim and he hurls another one (4 fire dam). This time hitting, but to his chagrin, he notices that the fire doesn't hurt him like it should and he cries out in aggrivation.
He then moves one square to the NE to get more in the center of the room.
Archie smiles at the devil, "you are about to be replaced child" she gives off a smug smile from the dukes face as she produces her light hammer and a dagger from within the illusion. "Random bullsh*t go!" She yells as she tosses them both forward, (21 to hit, 9 bludgeoning damage. 13 to hit, 5 piercing damage.) As the hammer spins and flies back to her hand she moves around the room sidling off to the devil's right 10ft north of Roo.
Virro turns and smiles a crooked smile at the devil as the ruse is over, cackling a little and listening to the odd echo of it through his mask. “Yes… my Lady!” He says in reply to Archie/Duke. He points his hand at the devil and an arc of lightening attaches itself to the beast, shocking it.
Action : Virro casts witch bolt at the devil, arcing electricity toward it. 15 to hit (with bless) for 2 points of lightning damage.
Movement : 1 step to the northeast, stepping partially behind the candle holder.
(Using inspiration for witch bolt to hit, 19 to hit with bless, for 2 points of lightning damage.)
Reed nods to himself, a broad smile on his face, as he notes all of the cultists are dead.
"More bad guys dead, mum," Reed says quietly.
He then slips quietly up to the open doorway, keeping low, and just peeking around the corner, keeping his face in the shadows cast by the lanterns. His eyes open ever so slightly at the sight of the spiney angry devil. He quickly slips an arrow into his bow and lets it fly, ducking back out of sight once he does.
Bonus - Cunning Action - Stealth - to stay hidden and attack from hiding: (18+9) = 27
Action - Short Bow: (15+7) = 22 to hit (w/ adv if hidden - 6+7=13) for (2+5 plus sneak attack of 5+3) = 15 piercing
The thunder damage surprises the devil as it moves to its next spot. And it glares at Corlith as the man continues to speak in infernal, belittling it. Archie's hammer hits as does Reed's arrow, but they don't appear to do the damage Archie and Reed would expect.
The lightning damage, however small, attaches to the devil connecting him to Virro.
Reya runs into the room, straight at the devil, pulling out her short sword alongside her longsword. Missing her first and last attack, the second one at least finds purchase on the barbed creature in front of her (9 dam - resisted). Bleeding from her own wounds, the frustration on only hitting the creature once is palpable.
Roo circles Glory of Morning around, rushing back toward the monster as it advances on his friends. The possum whips around behind it and then around to the side.
"Look at me!" The Gallus warrior commands as he passes in front of the fiend, his chest stuck out as his sword bites into the monster. "Tell me your name, beast! Tell me the last time you saw this armor!"
Glory of Morning rushes off, taking Roo back toward the corner again...
Attack: 17 to hit, 12 damage (rolled on Discord) Divine Smite: 7 damage
Wilfred watches as this monstrosity starts attacking. "These devils or demons or whatever they are keep getting uglier. Well, no time to be lolly gagging! Hup hup!"
Wilfred sounds his glaive as he moves forward. As the creature gets into his range, he viciously attacks at it's chest, slashing quickly. Without stopping, he steps forward and swings the but of the glaive low, connecting perfectly with what he assumes is the side of it's knee. While it seems to do damage, it manages to stay on its get. He smiles at this creature.
Movement: Get right next to the devil
Attack: To Hit 18, Damage 22 Slashing
Bonus: To Hit Nat 20, damage 28 bludgeoning
