Roo puffs up as the little beast prepares to attack him, and then relaxes as Reed explains to him what a hug is just before the child, Suzette, throws her arms around him. Roo immediately relaxes, his head bobbing about.
"Buck buh...what is this? A hug?" He says, standing there stark still while the kid has her arms around him. "It makes me feel...ways. All...warm inside...buh buh..."
Slowly his eyes flutter closed as he completely relaxes in this kids arms...
"Kill!?" Roo says later, as the sun starts to set and they wander out toward the encampment. "Gallus goes to rest, and Strix rules the night. Yes yes, where are they! Killing is our business, my featherless friends, and business is good!"
"do we reckon that this camp is used for the villagers too? Because if it's just the, uhhhh, 'brigands' then we could surround them and start fires, sending them out to us in a panic..." Archie clanks as she crouches into the hiding position, very much not enjoying or having any skill in the 'stealthy approach'.
“Pssst. Hey, ummmm, guys. You know, I can send one of those cool balls of fire down there to burn them up from a distance, or ring them off with a wall of fire, if you want. Seems like we have the drop on them, and we could begin that way…” Virro looks to Reed, deferring to him. “Say, there weren’t any humans who lived in your village, were there?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
As the group gathers within the trees, Wilfred and Archie clang a bit, but the clanging of pots and pans from the apparent kitchen area covers the sound and the group goes undetected as they take in the sight.
Currently, there are two apparent bandits in the center of the outcropping looking as though they are trying to start a fire, there is one by the far wagon going through supplies and you see one that seems to be keeping watch outside the largest tent. There doesn't appear to be anything beyond their features to tell them apart.
"If we start now, we can't let any escape to warn those at the mines," Reed says. Then he looks at the two bandits trying to start the fire. "Can you set them on fire? Might attract everyone's attention."
He takes out his bow, and places an arrow on the string.
"As soon as the fire starts, let's take out the other two."
"We could just ask them where the villagers are I suppose" Archie whispers, "when it comes to bad guys I've always just been really direct and told them what I want"
"Should some of us circle around to block the route to the mine then?", Corlith suggests.
Ambushing folk is completely out of his wheelhouse, but he is all in on this. He isn't sure if this is some kind of indentured servitude or straight up slavery, but forcing good folk into labour is certainly not something he would take lightly, which is what this all sounded like.
And if that meant turning a blind eye to Viro using the shield, then so be it.
He gets a bit of a chill when that thought crosses his mind.
"Who's the baddest motherclucker in there? Whoever he is, I want him first. If you lot start the fires..."
Roo shudders at the thoughts...
"...if I can just get close enough to him, I'll bring down the wrath of Gallus and the fury of Strix on him in the confusion. Cut off the serpents head, as they say. Buck buh."
To Marzin, he smiles and says "sorry, I didn't introduce myself! Wilfred Cliffvine, it's a pleasure to meet you. And I'm glad you enjoyed my wine! I wish I still had some, but... I've been busy with other work. Maybe one day, the vineyard will open again. Once it does, I'll personally deliver you a case!" He smiles as he remembers his life from long ago. Then he starts laughing as he sees the small child hug Roo's.
Wilfred follows the others along the trail, moving as quietly as he can. (Clank Clank). "Sorry."
Wilfred gets his longbow out. "I can't help with the fire, but I can circle around if that's the way we want to do this." He'll start to move around counterclockwise towards the mine.
"if Wilf, Corlith, and Roo, head to the mine entrance, Reed, Virro and I can start fires from here, then it's go time, we rush in, and you guys flank any reinforcement from the mine. Just watch out for smaller folk." Archie pulls a flame up from her palm and readies herself to cast firebolt on the man by the far wagon
(17 to hit, 4 fire damage)
Once the action begins Archie runs forward flanking as she goes and takes cover behind the tents on the left.
When everyone has moved into position and the nod is given, Virro nods and points his shield at the two in the center, saying under his breath “Let me give you a little help with that fire….” He sends a fireball in to get the party started, centering it on the firepit in timing of them trying to start the fire. Afterwards, he plans to rush in along with everyone else.
Fireball : 38 points of fire damage, DC 21 dex save to take half damage.
"Oh yes, yes yes, mine entrance, buck." Roo says his perspective shifting as he starts to bounce about a little more on Glory of Mornings back. His head bobs up and down. "Yes, are there bad guys there? Featherless ones? Let's go!"
Once the fire explodes around the two trying to start it, Reed draws back the arrow, stills himself for a moment and then lets it fly at the guard in front of the large tent.
Bonus Action - Steady Aim
Action - Shortbow: (20+7) = 27 to hit for (5+4+5+3+3+4+3) = 27 piercing
As everyone gets into position, Virro's fireball sears through the air and incinerates the two bandits that were attempting to make the fire. A fire is there now indeed. Archie's flame flies towards the one at the far wagon and delivers it's damage. And the guard posted at the large tent? The arrow pierced it's chest, lifted him off the ground and pinned him to the post of the tent. He now hangs there, limp and deceased.
Archie standing behind the tent hears the last visible hostile slump to the ground, and instead of approaching further she whips out a dagger and slices open the back of the tent to take a peek inside.
If the coast is clear and the tent is empty she moves inside, if it is not empty she charges her lightning gauntlets and steps inside anyway.
Reed takes down the last of the visible guards and Archie slashes the tent in front of him. Finding nothing but supplies and a couple of covered crates, she finds no enemies within.
A bandit comes running out of the tent to the east of the large tent, runs towards the blazing fire and looks around wildly. Seeing Reed, he fires a bolt at the halfling, but it goes wide. "We're under attack! All our guards are down!! They are dead!"
Once he pipes down you hear whimpering from the large tent and soon emerges three halfling women, shaking at the knees with raised frying pans in their hands. They are making a sort of wall in front of the large tent.

Reed shakes his head when Virro asks about humans. "No, just us little people."
He looks at the camp, still looking for the leader.

Initiative has now started!
Reed is up!
Reed pivots slightly, calms his breathing again, and then releases another arrow, this time at the guard at the wagon, already hurt by Archie's flame.
As the arrow pierces the injured guard, Reed shakes his head and speaks to the air around him "No, not yet. Do you see anyone else?"
