Corlith looks to Roo as the Gallus mentions the family they murdered, and shakes his head.
"I do not accept the fact we murdered a family. We executed a group of cultists under the authority of the Flaming Fist to ensure the safety of the citizens of Balder's Gate, and potentially other cities that they may have gone on to target", he clarifies. "At least, that is the way I see it".
"I do agree that taking Reed's father is an outrage though, so let's go get him back".
Virro has walked outside and he’s warming his hands at the roaring campfire in the center of the encampment. When he hears the question about Reed’s father posed, he says “Yes, let’s head into the mine, shall we? Let’s save Reed’s father and finish the rest of them off..”

As the group begin to gather to descend into the mine, Archie stops dead in her tracks, the papers she was handed brought firmly up to her face she reads and then calls out, "UHHH guys! Amrik was a buyer... What's the chances that this is Amrik Vanthampur?...
There's others too, names that I don't recognise, but if Amrik is on this list maybe it's linked to what we were doing before, Trinity... Gerald... Marge... And Taro... Looks like those last two owe something."
Bree nods as the other halflings are busy in the makeshift kitchen, "Good good, the community hall. Dad? Why, boys.. it's not just Garret. Why there is Tristan Longglade and Charles Thunderbee and Calbyn Grandcheeks and Gorin Coppershine... " and the halfling woman continues to list off other people and as she ticks off her fingers.
Then a scream pierces the night air.
A halfling woman has emerged from the mine and is staring, mouth agape at the tall man with the infernal blade and blood soaked pirates hat. Not seeing the others past the tents, the woman stands frozen in her spot, carrying empty pie pans.
Bree, realizing what is going on, stops listing off names and runs to where the woman stands. "Come come Verna, it's alright, they are with Reed. They have come to help us! They have freed us and I'm sure they'll get Gorin from the mines." She talks comfortingly to the woman and walks her around by Reed, nodding to him as she walks the woman to the large tent with the others.
As they walk into the tent, those close by can hear the woman say, "I.. I'm sorry, I am sure those men heard me scream..."
Wilfred stands guard at the entrance to the mine as the others do there thing. When he sees a shape come out of the cave, he quickly swings his glaive! Then stops himself as he see the halfling woman.
As she screams, Wilfred starts say. "Oh, I am so sorry! Oh now, I'm friends with Reed Underbough. Oh no, please don't scream, I'm not going to hurt you. Oh, they probably heard that." As Reed, his mum, and the others come around the corner. "Sorry, I think I gave her a spook. Umm. Apologies, where are my manors. I'm Wilfred Cliffvine, at your service. And once again sorry for the scare." He pulls off his hat and gives a quick bow to the halfling women.
To the others, he'll say. "I'm ready to go down when you all are. No sense in wasting time."
Virro gives guidance to Reed when called upon. He waits for a moment, listening and watching, then he holds his hand up to his ear, and nods. He turns to Wilfred and says “I’m heading down into the mines, following Reed. Please, gather everyone along. We are going to need help with this. Let’s finish the job..”

"Vanthampur! By Gallus Archie, that was the family we destroyed! Buck!"
And then there's a little commotion and then he hears that he's needed up front. Roo shouts in delight as he moves to meet their enemies.
"Blood for Gallus!" He shouts. He stops as he moves forward, not having enough speed to get to the front lines yet with his short little legs, and then makes a motion kind of like a cat yakking up a hairball. His neck stretches out, feathers standing up, and then an Eldritch Blast erupts from his mouth and screams down the corridor at their first contact.

Roo squeezes past the lineup of his friends that have stopped up the front of the cavern, and as his eldritch blast shoots out from his mouth. It dies against the wall of the tunnel.
Wilfred hears Virro call out to him and Roo, and starts to make his way forward. "Excuse me, pardon, on your left, your other left..." He manages to squeeze by Reed, then dashes forward. "Coming through!"
Right after he gets by Virro, he will smile at the bandit and say "I don't suppose you want to do this the easy way?"
Wilfred's shrugs apologetically at the bandit. "Sorry, kids are in a rush." With that, he viciously strikes down at the bandit. He corrects his grip at the last second to help improve his aim, hopefully it was enough.

Reed moves up and as soon as he finds his position, the bandit that was behind A, moves forward and gets pinned completely through to the stone wall behind him. He doesn't even get a word out, just gurgles as he dies on the arrow.
Another bandit (C) comes following behind to take up the space the kebab'd bandit (B) left behind and seeing Wilfred, attempts to hit him with a crossbow bolt. It sails wide, nowhere near the vintner.
Archie had been holding a flame up in her palm as the group descended into the cave, to light the path for those without dark vision.
Growing a little tired of people pushing around and generally being a larger individual in her armour, stuck in a cramped cave she begins to move forward too getting awkwardly around roo and Corlith she gets to the bulk of the group and asks out loud "guys! I think we're too bunched up, do you want to move forward so we can all get through? or should we back up and bottleneck them out side?"
She then throws the flame toward the nearest bandit which extinguishes itself pathetically against the cave wall as of to punctuate her point.

"Everyone's coming back out," Reed says.
He looks down the tunnel entrance after the scream. Then pats Wilfred on the arm.
"Best get at it then," Reed says to the others.
He hitches up his pack and then looks at Virro and Corlith.
"Mind giving me a little of the extra juice before I head down to scout a little?"
Hoping for some guidance to help out, Reed slips into the tunnel, trying to keep to the shadows to get an idea of what's nearby.

Virro hears Reed's voice in his head.
"Big bad people don't seem to have heard the scream so you're clear to come in to at least the first bend before anyone will notice."
