Roo ducks the flying axe and then cocks his head sideways as he inspects what it happening.
"Ha, you are a sorry excuse for a spectral assailant!" He cries, ruffling his feathers back into place after the miss. "Wha...Wiflred! Oh my Gallus, are you a worm now!? The rats had sterner backbones and they were dead! Come back here! You caused this! I swear, you featherless never cease to amaze me!"
Virro sees the spectral axe and his eyes go wide when he sees the blast of cold do no damage and attacks against it don’t seem to affect it. “I agree Reed, I’m out of here! C’mon Roo! Stop strutting and preening up there and get out of here!” Virro tries to talk Roo from leaving, but he gives his effort to dash out of the room and down the hall, back the way they came.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Wilfred sighs, and moves back into the room, in the corner opposite Roo, flanking the axe "Roo! As my Pa used to say, you can't win a fight against a shadow! Or... something like that. We can't win a fight if we can't hit this thing! Magic and blades went right through it." He attacks the axe again, to make a point. "See, right through. Let's go! This isn't a fight, its a distraction."

Reed looks back over his shoulder and just shakes his head.
He keeps moving, back through the tunnel and to the door, but pauses there to make sure it stays open so Roo and Wilfred can race through if needed. If they do and something's chasing him, Reed will ready himself to slam the door shut once the last of the group is through.
IronMaiden continues watching every detailed movement of the axe, it's slight transparency, she tries to figure it out, and then with a calculated throw she launches her light hammer toward it, her aim is flawless and the hammer leaves a wispy trail of flame and smoke as it spins through the air, whether the hammer hits or simply passes through, she recalls it to her hand with a "hmmmmm?"
(24 to hit, 7 bludgeoning damage, infused hammer is regarded as magical weapon)
Corlith moves through the door to the corner, and cups his free hand to his mouth and calls to the three left fighting the ghost axe, hoping to direct the sound in the one direction.
"Stop messing about you three, we haven't got all day!", he says loudly having concentrated and focused himself.
"In truth, I have nothing better to do, but I'd rather not waste time. Especially as someone likely heard that", he adds with a shake of his head returning to Virro and Reed.

The rooster continues to diddy-bop his way along the edge of the open sarcophagus, ruffling his feathers, puffing, strutting, and being a general nuisance as he does so. He evades another attack with little issue and goes about heckling the ghost as he moves freely along its final resting place.
"No wonder you died!" He taunts, stopping long enough to scratch with kicks of his feet before reaching down to sharpen the edges of his beak along the sides of the box. "You can't fight for shit! You're absolutely pathetic! I bet you're even teased in the halls of the dead! The other dead guys probably think you're a wuss! You know what I think of you?"
Roo hops down off the side of the sarcophagus and grabs the lower edge of it and tries to heave it over.
Wilfred puts away his Glaive, realizing it's going to be useless here. He completly ignores the axe and goes to grab Roo'. "Goddamnit Roo'! This is a waste of time! This isn't even a fight, it's a damn distraction! Are you going to come willingly or am I going to have to drag you out?" As he says this, he will grab Roo'.
"I have one final idea and then I'm out too" says Archie as she struggles to understand the spectral axe, she produces a flame in hand and tosses it toward the black sludge hoping that it might just catch light, (12 to hit, 6 fire damage if needed)
Fed up with the situation, Wilfred grabs ahold of the gesticulating chicken and heads out of the crypt. As soon as he does, the ghost axe vanishes into thin air. Wil continues to run down the tunnel holding onto Roo'Stor
Iron Maiden throws a ball of flame at the slude, and as soon as it hits it the axe appears again, swinging wildly. But the flame peters out and once it does the axe disappears again.
Reed, Virro and Corlith get out of the sewer water as this is going on and trudge back to the stairs they have yet to climb to the East. They get to the top and notice another door. Pausing to listen for noises on the other side, none is heard and they head through the door into another dark chamber.
This dry, partially collapsed room contains a stone altar with humanoid skulls and bones piled around the base of it. The top of the altar is covered with dozens of half-melted candles made of black wax, all currently unlit. At the other side of the room, another staircase exists heading down.
"Interesting", Corlith says as he enters the room with the altar, surrounded with skulls and bones.
"Not foreboding at all. Perhaps we should forego touching things this time", he adds as he wanders around the altar, looking for any clues it might be haunted or trapped. He focusses his mind on the task as he does so. Paying particular attention to the candles, but not touching anything.
He turns to Virro, as their resident expert on the macabre, to see if they have any ideas once he has taken a good look himself.
Ironmaiden gives a little shrug at the axe, and them closes the door behind her as she leaves, following Wild and Roo back toward the rest of the party.
"I've decided I don't like this place..." She mutters to herself as they find themselves joined up once again in a room with a pile of bones.
After his circuit of the room, Corlith stands behind the altar, next the wall.
"This wall looks different, there is something odd about it. Other than that and a lot of half burnt candles, not much I can see here", he says as the others finally join them.

He keeps moving, back through the tunnel and to the door, but pauses there to make sure it stays open so Roo and Wilfred can race through if needed. If they do and something's chasing him, Reed will ready himself to slam the door shut once the last of the group is through.

As the axe is attacked, each weapon passes straight through the ghostly image, making it separate like smoke - but then it reforms immediately after.
It swings at Roo, and misses again, twirling itself around in frustration.
Corlith moves through the door to the corner, and cups his free hand to his mouth and calls to the three left fighting the ghost axe, hoping to direct the sound in the one direction.
"Stop messing about you three, we haven't got all day!", he says loudly having concentrated and focused himself.

Reed sticks his head back around the corner to see if Corlith's encouragement had any effect.
"I think I could put an arrow or two into the rooster from here," Reed suggests. "If he's out of the way, the others might return?"
Then he shrugs and heads back to the doorway where Corlith and Virro are.
"This cult is a bit disappointing," Reed says. "How do you recruit members when your secret lair smells like sewage?"

As Roo throws a tantrum and attempts to roll the sarcophagus, the best he gets is a slight rock to it, making the sludge inside move a bit.
"Filth attracts filth", Corlith says simply in reply to Reed.
Hearing Roo trash talking still, and no sign of the others returning, he looks to Virro and Reed.
"Shall we move on? They will catch us up when they are ready I'm sure. I hear no sign that they feel in danger in there".
If either one agrees, he will join them moving back down the corridor and taking the path they had not yet been down.
"At the very least I want out of this disgusting water".

Reed scans the room as Corlith looks around, holding his still burning lantern up to see if there are any other doorways or exits from the room.
He then urns his attention to the wall Corlith points out
"Odd how? Looks like a wall." Reed says.
But he gives it a closer look, trying to see if maybe it's a false wall, or if there might be signs of a concealed door.
