Rizo recovered a 2nd level spell slot and then just rests his bones during the short rests. He wasn’t hit. Moni left, though, doing what fiery butterflies do in their free time.
Rested and refreshed, the party sets out to continue their journey.
After about an hour, the adventurers notice that the temperature has sharply risen. That, combined with the significant increase in humidity has turned the experience into a sub-tropical one. The foliage has turned somewhat jungle-like: large ferns, vines and exotic flowers are in abundance, notably reducing ground visibility and sometimes impeding movement, while the occasional pine has given way to the occasional palm tree. Even the forest sounds have changed, from songbirds and grazing creatures to monkey calls, exotic bird cries and an incessant background insect buzzing.
(( Encounter 4 ))
Soon, the humidity is sweltering; swarms of gnats and mosquitos continue to hound the party while there is a mist, really a thin fog almost ten feet high. Suddenly, just as Ruaccek's sword gives warning, there is a crashing sound of trampled foliage--from two different directions. The entire party sees movement ahead, and despite the tall flora obscuring even the aarakocra's view, everyone catches a glimpse of a creature--a HUGE creature--over a dozen yards ahead. It continues slowly, but loudly, approaching, while the second source of sound to the right quickly transitions to a loud, ground-shaking trampling. Fortunately, there is less foliage in that direction--little enough that Locke is able to shout the warning: "Triceratops!!"
(( OOC: Both creatures are huge size. Free Nature checks to anyone trying to determine what the first beast is. All Insight checks will simply reveal that the creatures are attacking out of anger--whether over territory or something else is unclear. Locations have been updated on the map. ))

Gordon uses giant's might and, moving 30 ft toward it, throws a sword at the triceratops, activating his fire giant rune.
Attack: 14 Damage: 13
On a hit, the dinosaur takes 7 fire damage, and must make a DC 14 strength save or be restrained by fiery shackles, which will deal more damage to it on its turn.

Gordon runs towards the triceratops, deftly avoiding the spiked tail that swings toward him as he moves. Pulling out a sword, he activates his runic magic and throws the weapon at the dinosaur. It lands squarely in the beast's right eye, causing both a burst of flame to erupt from the wound, and a ground-shaking roar to erupt from the creature as magical shackles of fire appear and attempt to bind the creature to the earth!
Unfortunately, the beast shakes itself and shrugs off the shackles with hardly any effort, causing the restraints to dissipate into fiery red motes that quickly fade away.
(( Triceratops is up! ))
Now glaring directly at Gordon, the dinosaur snorts, then gallops right towards the adventurer, apparently determined to either trample or gore him--or both!
T.MOVE: Twenty feet right up to Gordon T.ATTACK: Attempting to gore Gordon * Gore - Attack: 10, Mundane Piercing Damage: 24 (or 48 instead on a crit) * If the Gore hits, Gordon must make a DC 13 STR Save or be knocked prone and suffer an additional attack
Ruaccek will rest and retain his temporary hp if it's allowed.

So just clarifying that based on the Triceratops are a dozen yards away puts them at 108 ft and the map shows them 5-6 hexes away so 20'/hex?
