OOC - I liked the map and that it was updated easily with for where everything was located.
Ruaccek lowers to the ground softly and looks everyone over for wounds and if they need healing.
"The forest seem to have grown possibly and some of the creatures seem so different", comments Ruaccek. "The challenges have been exhilarating to be sure. I am ok to continue on or rest as you all need."

Locke nodded to Ruaccek as he caught his breath. "I'm fine without a rest," he said, "although if anyone else needs it, I've nothing against it. Although... maybe after moving away from here, if possible? The humidity in this part of the forest is brutal!"
(( OOC: Alright, I'm going to assume Gordon has nothing extra to do and move things forward. ))
The party continues forward, not stopping for a rest. Soon the jungle begins to tame; the flora and fauna seem to be returning to normal, and within an hour of keeping a steady pace, the trees and environment (including the humidity) return to something closer to normal for the forest.
(( Encounter 5 ))
The party soon finds itself approaching the edge of the forest, breaking out of the treeline to encounter a river bank. Across the river the forest continues, but there appears to be a old, crude shack right inside the far treeline. The next step, apparently, is to cross the river. It's only about 100 feet across, and the water is quite clear and calm, with only the occasional fish swimming by.
“A force is of nature like nothing else, perpetually moving mountains into the sea,” Rizo marvels at the sight of the large river and observes if other small animals than fish are nearby, like birds, squirrels, rabbits, a fox? He then starts a ritual to speak to animals, to the fish if necessary but he’d prefer something outside the water.
Approaching the animal, he says, “Such a lovely place you live in,” and he offers a Goodberry to build trust. “I hope whoever lives in that shack over there,” he points to the other side of the river, ”doesn’t disturb too much, or is it empty?” He asks friendly and continues. “It’s so peaceful here, or should I watch out for danger?”
Ruaccek marvels at the chance to fly freely seeing the vastness of the open sky....He takes in a deep breath of fresh air.
He spreads his wings to catch some of the warmer air to gain lift and ascends a hundred feet and takes in the beauty of the area. He scans it checking for wildlife and looks for danger as he descends back to 30 ft.

Gordon looks at the water unhappily. He doesn't like swimming in general, and he's not looking forward to swimming across in full plate armor.

"The Doomvault... Probably full of unicorns and rainbows." -An imaginary quote
Rizo is able to notice plenty of wildlife nearby, including birds, small mammals, and fish. In particular, as he casts his spell and speaks, a small young trout heading downstream stops, then swims closer to the river bank in response to Rizo's words. It gobbles up the goodberry eagerly, and practically does a backflip out of the water and back in before swimming up the loxodon again.
“I hope whoever lives in that shack over there, doesn’t disturb too much, or is it empty?”
"'Shack?' Oh, you mean that weird-shaped leafless tree just inside the forest? I don't think it's anyone's home. I've only seen a few creatures go in before, never the same one twice. Often they'd carry strange things out after entering, and then walk off. Can't tell you what's in it though--never been there myself, and everything your kind makes is alien to me."
“It’s so peaceful here, or should I watch out for danger?”
"Peaceful? Ha ha ha, they've got you fooled, then! For little ones like me, we can avoid them well enough. But even though the water's clear, the long-mouths are good at hiding among the rocks upstream downstream. When they get your scent, they'll wait until you're clear of the shore before coming to eat you. But so long as you stay out the water, they won't come after you."
@cwreando:
As Ruaccek flies up into the clear sky, he turns and sees that the area is indeed beautiful. Everything here is lush and green, and the forest on the far bank doesn't seem to continue very far before coming to an end, revealing a path that looks like it leads back to town. There is plenty of wildlife--other birds can be seen in flocks, or taking care of things on their own in the trees. The occasional squirrel can be spotted, and even a mother doe and her twin fawns.
Looking at the river, the aarakocra finds it remarkably clear; he can see straight to the bottom, although he's not quite able to discern how deep that is. There don't appear to be any threats in the water, although Ruaccek does notice that just a short distance downstream, there are numerous large rocks and boulders in the water that create turbulence and provide ample hidden corners and blind spots, even from his vantage point.
Locke looked at the river and grimaced. Sure it looked safe, but that sort of a situation made him nervous. "I'm going in," he announced, quickly following up with, "don't worry, I'm not going in deep; I'm just trying to get a feel for how deep this river might be."With that, he waded out about fifteen feet , finding the water was already at his waist.
(( Locke's Nature check: 6 ))
(( OOC: Everyone watching can also make Nature checks to determine the water's depth, although Ruaccek will have to roll at disadvantage unless he comes back down to ground level. ))
“If I were you, I’d watch out for long-mouthed predators. The friendly trout here warned us of them. Might be alligators or crocodiles, or something else entirely. Just be careful,” Rizo suggests.

“Ruaccek,” Rizo calls, “Would you feel up to the task of carrying us to the other side one by one? Or alternatively, we could try to combine some ropes and fix them to trees in both sides.”

"sure I can try and carry or use a rope to string accross."
Gordon chimes in, "I have a bag of holding that people can fit into. We may be able to even make it in one trip."

“Now that sounds like a great idea, Gordon. Let’s all climb into that bag and Ruaccek can carry us across without even breaking a sweat. I’m curious what’s inside that cabin, the trout said that several people went in and out but no one stays for a long time. It might be a simple storage room or, perhaps, an entrance to the underdark!”

The Ruaccek will fly 25 ft up just above the party and a bit behind them. Ruaccek droppings are the worst. LOL.
