Elsara will also offer to do so. She will just in case cast another alarm at the entrance to the house (only counting party members for trigger omission) before she takes the first couple of watches.
DM: When you were searching the house for clues, I said you found nothing. I also said you found the son's diary. I was holding what was written on the diary until one of you said you'd read it. However, I now realize that you shouldn't need to say if you read it or not since you ARE looking for clues. This is my attempt to fix this mistake. If you wouldn't have read the diary out of some sense of privacy or respect, then just don't read the spoiler.
Now that you are done searching the house, you have time to look at the stuff you found. In the son's diary you find some info should you choose to read it:
In an entry which dates about 3 months (half a year or 180 Days) before the foxman started appearing, the son note the new angel statue. A person that looked like a traveling performer took shelter in Jay's house. As thanks, he gave Jay the angel statue. The son says that the man had an eerie. almost nightmarish atmosphere about him. He wore a mask that made his eyes look like black voids. There was a single streak of red painted near the right eye, as if it was crying bloody tears. He wore a strange necklace. His overall getup gave the son a sense of dread. However, the man was very amiable and nice. The statue itself was very beautiful and the angel's face was very well designed. It's smile was a very real one that was filled with melancholy.
In a much later entry, the son notes that he finds the angel statue disturbing. When his mother was out hunting, he took a break from his studies to examine the statue. He felt anxious and uneasy when he stared into the statue's eyes for more than a minute. It's face seemed to change and contort. The smile was no longer melancholy but filled with malice and wickedness. He said that the longer he started at it, the more sinister the statue seemed. When he finally looked away and looked back, the statue was back to normal. I believes he was tired and his mind was playing tricks on him.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Moving forward.
You guys rest for 8 hours (and so receive the benefits of Long Rest)
Summer -18 Time: 10:00 AM
The empty house bears the signs of someone looting it (due to your searching). However, nothing except the pouch of 210 gp was taken. The beams of sunlight peek through the canopies of the forest and fall to the ground. The sheep are munching on grass. <Insert anything you want to do here>
You guys set off for the Guild (at least I assume you do. Happy to retcon if you don't).
Summer - 18 Time: 4:00 PM
You are moving along the road through Moonglow forest. A very cool and relaxing summer breeze blows today. I blows for 4 hours. The lovely summer breeze and the relatively low temperature for summer makes for an enjoyable journey through the woods. The canopies provide great shade and the air brings with it, the sweet smell of summer fruits. The fine weather lifts your spirits and energizes you (and probably puts you in a good mood too, unless you are the dark brooding anti-hero type). The party gets four d4s. This is a shared resource. You can add it to your attack, damage or skill check rolls. You may only use one per roll. All unused dice are removed after 24 hours or after a Long Rest.
While walking along the road, you notice a large tree blocking the way. Everything else seems quiet.
(As Folki was saying, it will only be looted if they leave it all so they might as well take it and maybe try to find some of her family to give it to?)

Val doesn't find much else. He finds a crap ton of family portraits. They aren't worth much.
“I don’t find anything more useful to help us solve the mistery. Lets go back.”
PbP Character: A few ;)
"Do we want to wait until sun up?" Elsara asks. She notes that some are still wounded and probably wanting to regain their energy before leaving.
“Yes, let’s have a rest here. We should keep a watch rotation.”

(Following the new moving forward rules from post 1664)
How long do you plan to rest?
Summer - 18
Time: 2:00 AM
Long rests with watch rotation would take 12 hours, right?

Reading the rules, I think you can take 8 hours for a long rest. You will need to take 4 watches though.
Val can rest the first 4 hours and then do the rest of the watchs.

(I'm not too sure about how the rules work with elves. Can they do 4 hour rest and 4 hour watch instead of the usual 6 hour sleep and 2 hour watch?)
They need to have the full eight hours of rest but only need to be 'sleeping' for four of them
(Well, staying on watch is listed as a light activity so I guess they can do that for 4 hours and trance for the other 4.)
Elsara will also offer to do so. She will just in case cast another alarm at the entrance to the house (only counting party members for trigger omission) before she takes the first couple of watches.
Folki is out for the count as soon as they stop

If there's literature for Elsara to look at during her down time, then she'll totally read it.
“At least we have a clue. “ says the elf “Hope that the guildmaster knows more.”

(I'm not sure. Please clarify about that before proceeding)
