Gendan will speak to the plague doctor as he passes by. She doesn’t always use pleasantries, but out of respect for Ripo, she does. “Sir, Ithink you’d be interested in some information I’ve got for you. May I follow you to a less crowded area to talk?”
The rushing Plague Doctor says in an annoyed voice, "A man has died here, possibly murdered. I don't have time for this. If you have something worth saying, you can say it here."
Valwarin doesn’t says nothing. The idea of people murdering each other not for eating and protection but for sport and money still amazes him. For the moment he will just stay with his friends in case they need some help.
The plague doctor nods as he listens to you guys talk. He calls over one of the guards and says, "You say you saw a guest with a blowgun and that Ripo had a bounty on his head? I don't recall the Council doing anything like that. If they did, they'd probably send the Guild after him. Who set up the bounty and can you describe the guy at the table with the blow gun?"
The other guard gets a sketchbook and a pencil out. He's going to draw the description as best as he can.
Gendan wracks her memory of the past couple days, despite the big fight in the middle of it all. “Ripo told me he was wanted by House Enric of Ervo. I’m from Ervo and can tell you that House Enric talks a big game, but they’re just a bunch of loud mouths now. They used to have importance when their mine was rich with gems, but the well has since dried up, so to speak, and they’ve got a big house and a big name, but that’s about it. I don’t know what Ripo did to anger them, but they must have dipped into their coffers to hire someone named Berta Leatherjack. I don’t know what the relation is to Hugo Leatherjack who I met at the mess hall last night, but I’m sure there’s a connection. Anyway, Hugo asked me if I knew of Ripo and got all fussy when I wouldn’t give him any clues. He was big and orcish, about yay tall,” she reaches well above her head to describe the orc’s height. “He was wearing studded leather and carrying a blowgun. His teeth were all...orc-y.” She goes on to describe his appearance as best as she can for the sketch artist. “That puncture wound you described on Ripo’s neck would likely fit the darts that guy had for his blowgun.”
The plague doctor nods as he listens to your explanation. When you finish, he turns to the guard and says, "You go all that?" He then turns to you and says, "House Enrick of Ervo, you say? I don't think we should get involved in Ervo's affairs. However, the fact that they can send a mercenary here is... troublesome. I will issue a warrant to find this orc. Neither heard of him nor Berta so either he's not very big in the merc gig or he isn't from Rurik. I'll send word to the council and suggest they strengthen our boarders."
The plague doctors looks over the group and says, "Aren't you the guys who brought in a corpse yourself? Yeah, the cause of death of your companion was most probably misadventure and I have filed it as such. Measures have been taken to preserve his body and it has been sent to Sydil. After the Guild goes through some paper work, he will be sent back to Camenose to be buried. You guys are free to leave whenever you please."
"That's basically a fancy term we use to say someone died from an accident. We shove natural occurrences like lightning bolts under the same heading too."
The Plague Doctor begins walking away to tend to his business.
DM: Will the party do anything else at the fort or should I skip to the day where they leave?
(Elsara will be happy to be on the open road again hopefully. If there is time after she's recovered, she can go purchase some extra blankets to take with the group, and maybe a replacement tent.)
Elsara feels like a kid in a candy store (well, a kid wizard in a spellbook store). What are the costs of the following spells (to transcribe into her spellbook)?

(If it's still recovery time, Elsara isn't there unfortunately.)
(Okay. This is happening on Day 3 so still recovery time)
Will Val say anything?
Moving on.

“There was a bounty out for Ripo, and I’m pretty sure the merc was at dinner last night with a blowgun.”

“Yeah, that was Hunin. What exactly does an official ‘misadventure’ filing mean? And thank you for taking care of getting him sent home.”

Runt is slightly offended at the "ork-y" description given to the doctor. She gives anaudible grunt of disapproval. Very ork like.

(I’m okay with skipping ahead. Thanks everyone for your patience while Gendan had some adventures at the fort.)

Yes. Elsara has a whole day to do whatever she wants after she recovered.
In which case, Elsara has the following shopping list:
Tents are magical (Because I can't be bothered to calculate weight) and extra food will cost you depending on how many day's worth you are buying
Blankets, Buckets and Chest will run you 1GP 1SP
There are spell scrolls up to 2nd level. Pick any spell from the book within that range of your choosing. Cost Depends on spells.
