Devarus cursed and started to raise his foot as if to stomp down and try to break the lock, but just barely kept from doing so least a broken foot would be the next of his many worries. And with the exception of Valwyrn, seeing the others possibly distracted still doing their own thing, the half-drow turns to the elven druid and says, "Well its not going anywhere at the very least. Let's... I don't know. Let's head for the stairs and see what's about. If we're lucky, mayhaps we'll even find a key." He said as much, but without much hope in his eyes. Dev than briskly turned about to make for the stairs and climbed them least he lose his nerves.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Uh... that works as well." Devarus gives Runt a look that appeared a mix of appreciation and some consternation. But with the way open to the group once more, he'd step up to remove the remnants of the lock, casting them aside to open up the door. He then -- that is, assuming nothing awaited them on the other side to cause trouble -- took a second to inspect whatever stairway or ladder might've been set in place for security as much as it was to see if it was stable. And if deemed so, then he'd doff his shield with the intent to be the first to descend and secure the bottom while the others followed suit.
(I was under the assumption it was the cabinet. I can take a whack at the trap door if need. Or switch if we intended to open the trap door and I misread)

The cabinet lock breaks. Inside the party finds... more prayer materials. These are of the more expensive variety such as gold plates, cups, boxes of candles, oils, "holy" water. etc.
So what are you doing? Is someone going to smash the trapdoor lock? The cabinet is open now. Does Deva continue upstairs? Does Val and Elsara do anything?
(Ooc: Sorry, I hadn't clarified after the whole cabinet thing. Yes, Devarus is continuing for the stairs unless in the presumptions others wouldn't be far behind/following. But would happily stop if if anyone wishes him to for other shenanigans.)

Val follows Devarus, If anyone was hiding in the basement someone has to had locked it with the lock So long they are locked they will not go anywhere so their better chances were upstairs.
Going up stairs, Val and Deva find a long wooden hall with two sets of doors on either side. At the end of the hall is a large set of double doors that are wooden.

Out of the two doors on the left, the first one is not locked.
Val opens it and peeks inside
