" For the time beign " adds Val " the goblins had probed more prone to talk and listen that this village. " says plainly " We were in the middle of a fight and they were the ones who drop weapons first, probing to us that they were eager to talk and to change the violent cycle you and them are inmerse on. Tell me good priest ¿would probe this "unreasonable goblins" wiser than you all?"
And here you got a true believer in second chances Valwarin the druid ;)
The priest says, "In the end, all this may or may not be a rouse. However, I trust that you have Lathander's guidance and whatever will be end result of the meeting will be for the best."
“You know, I think I’ve got a thing at six.”(I couldn’t resist.)
”Six o’clock is as good a time as any. Thank you for your hospitality.”Gendan starts to ponder what she might say if she were asked to convince the village to make a truce with the goblin.
Gendan is turned down by most merchant but is directed to visit the local smith. In a small village he mostly makes farming and woodcutting tools. He says, "Miss, I'm afraid most of these are quite old and worn. It is true that it will work about as well as a new equipment so their actual effectiveness hasn't degraded. However, nobody would like to buy used and worn equipment from a shop. If I were to repair them, it would cost too much for it to be profitable. However, I can still make a profit by melting them to get the raw materials."
He offers you: 1 GP (Arrows don't suffer from the problem he listed) for the arrows, 10 SP for the scimitars, 8 CP for the shield (It is a wooden shield), 16 CP for the bows. Your total would be: 2GP 2 SP 4 CP
The smith takes the things and gives Gendan the money.
I'm going to be moving on now so if you did do anything within these 12 hours (like getting the payment from Franklin, do retrospective RP)
Summer -8 6:00PM
Most of the villagers were gathered at the request of Father Torelgen. The meeting held place under the open sky at the center of the village. Out of the 3 village elders, 2 of them are present. They are Father Torelgen and a halfling named Samuel Moris. Samuel is about 190 years old. The Father lets you know who are absent. The 3rd elder, a high elf named Elias Cronomane, is absent. "Elias is never around. He spends all his time in his study. The only time he goes out is when his experiments and research requires it." He points to the only large wooden mansion in Camenose and says, "He lives up there." Among the villagers Alan Swan, Franklin and Tracey are absent. A human woman named Elyza Blackthorn is also absent. The local postmen are also absent. The Father tells you, "Don't worry about these guys. The postmen of Rurik answer directly to the Council. As long as the proper procedures are followed, they don't really care whether the senders and receivers of letters and packages are humans, drow (not evil in this world), goblin, or even a succubus. As for Elyza, she's probably helping old Elias with his study."
The sun has begun to set and the soft light of the setting sun has painted the village in a serene and dim hue. 3 Chairs have been set up for the 3 elders with one being empty. 3 wooden pallets have been placed on the ground at the Father's request to act as a stage. Large mats cover the ground to offer villagers a place to sit, Those that have arrived have arrived about 5-15 minutes early. Murmurs fill the air as they all quietly whisper to each other and wonder why on earth the meeting was called. They also express their curiosity about Gabby. Some of them speculate on whether or not the goblin will be executed and if so, in what fashion.
I could use that arrows.... the 20 of them I will give you the GP if you want.
The wood elf stands and looks at the people gathered and then turns to the two elders. He bows to them and start to speak
”Good people, Wise Elderes, I am Valwarin Omaren, druid of the Old Faith. We had just arrived to your village trying to help the plea of a father that claimed that the goblins had kidnapped her daughter. Fortunately that was not the case. She was fine and near the village and as for now they are reunited. “ he takes a few steps to keep them focused on him, for as when he mentioned the goblins most of the villagers looked at Gabby, but he hopes they keep looking at him as he speaks.
“ They, however, ranshaked its home, in search of supplies. You have stablished a curious balance here. The goblins periodically rob you from well earned supplies and you retaliate killing them. This cycle has to stop. We “he moves his hand to inclue his companions “ a band of adventurers, went outthere, found their home and broke into it. Most like they did before to rob, but we were there to kill. And we did. We kill many of them before we come to an understanding. “ he makes a stop, looks at the Elders and goes back to the villagers. “ Yoy must understand this. We were on the brink of defeat. Many of us were lying on the floor bleeding, they had us. One or more two attacks and we wouldn’t be here today talking to us. And they stopped. “ he let one second to that information to sink into everybody’s mind. “We didn’t ask for a truce, they spared our lives. They told us that they just wanted to have the opportunity to trade with you, to work their own land and not to be constantly raided by adventurers. They want to this vicious cycle to stop. And they have done the first step, even sending here an ambassador as a sign of peace. I know that they are goblins, and that there ir too much blood between you, but here is the chance to stop it. Here you got the chance to probe that you are truly wiser and braver. Barter with them. Stablish a good relationship. They offer not only their valuables wares, but to patrol and protect the village from beast and bandits once they had gathered their strength again. You can change your relationship now. Stop beign a parasite for each other. Be better and you will prosper. You can only win.”
The villagers listen to you and then quietly talk to each other about what you just said. A murmur engulfs you.
Val, with a larger audience, it is no longer a question of if you can convince anyone but rather how many you can convince.
Roll Persuasion. The roll will determine how many you've convinced and how well you've done it. No matter how high or low you roll, there will always be one or two people who cannot be convinced. Likewise, there will also be one or two people that will be easily convinced by your speech.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gendan is very impressed with Val’s wordsmithing. She steps onto the platform,
“Just think of the prosperity that a partnership like this could bring to Camenose. To open a trade network unlike any this town has ever been a part of. To have a defensive pact with skilled fighters.
The wares they offer are exotic and will enrich the culture of your city. The possibilities opened up by such a pact are far-reaching.
Best of all, you will no longer need to fear that your children will be kidnapped or murdered by these raids. Your colleagues won’t be lost in an ill-calculated retaliation. This move is for the prosperity of Camenose. Act in your own best interest.”
The people murmur again. At this point, Samuel speaks up, "You talk about working together with goblins and how they are willing to negotiate. I ask you how much you trust the little creatures? How do you know this isn't some trick to get us to lower our guard? Despite what most of the villagers might think, the goblins are far smarter than we give them credit for when it comes to combat tactics."

“We trust them as far as we have left one of our wounded friends under their care. They will not spoil her, but she will be safe and will recover from her wounds.”
Sorry was a long day... Nice roll NorthwestNiner, hope I have some luck.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I see. so it's just blind trust you have going here" Samuel says with a nod. He stands up and says, "People listen. It is possible that these fine adventurer's are telling the truth but it is also possible that they've been tricked. These goblins have raided our people for a long time. Now they want peace? Have you forgotten all our brothers and sisters that have died to these goblins? All our children that were violated by them?"
Persuasion: 19
The crowd becomes riled by his speech. To convince people that their fears are true and to confirm their belief in something they think is correct is far far easier than convincing them that what they know is wrong. As the villagers start bad mouthing the 6 of you, Samuel says, "Quiet! Do not disrespect the adventurer's. They are not malicious. In fact, we should celebrate them. They have weakened the goblins. If we strike now, we will wipe them out once and for all. The fine heroes of our land deserve nothing but our hospitality. Let them rest here and enjoy the best food, drink and lodgings our small village can offer them. It is the least we can do for our heroes."
Gabby begins stuttering out, "Y-You're wrong. We came here for P-peace. We don't want any more bloodshed. Give us chance to prove ourselves."
Father Torelgen speaks out, "Stop! Has Lathander taught you nothing? It is true that the Goblins were a menace to our society for a long time. However, that does not mean we should kill them all right now. I will admit, I too have my own doubts about the goblin's intentions. But Lathander has taught us to forgive. He has taught us to work together and love each other. Even if there is a chance that the goblins are telling the truth and really do want peace, we should take it. If we stay on the path of Lathander, he will guide us. If this is a trick, Lathander will smite them. We should not dirty our hands with sin and blood. We should forgive and be welcoming of any possibility of peace."
Persuasion 26 (18)
Gabby perks up and says, "Yes. We want peace. The only reason we raided is because we needed tools to defend ourselves against orcs and other goblins. If we are just allowed to buy and sell things and our own resources are not raided, we have no reason to attack you."
Father Torelgen manages to calm the villagers down enough that they are willing to listen. The continue to murmur between speeches and are dissuaded from just jumping into an attack.
