”You should know better than to lie to me!” Gendan flips back her hood revealing her bright red locks and comes nose to nose with Jeremy. In her fist, she holds a purple ball of energy that resembles the bolt that ran his accomplice right through.
Gendan turns and says, “Submit yourself or experience my wrath! You already got one of your goons killed tonight, I assume you’d like to keep that number at one.”
Samuel says, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." He says this louder than usual. "Killing me won't stop our resistance. I may lead it but that doesn't mean another won't take my place as long as our goal lives on."
DM: Going to pause here to give Hunin, Val and Elsara time to react. (And Gym too but he's also not responding to my PM)

”Are you crazy or what? Does the age had caught up with your mind and that’s why you behave like a stupid troll? How can you put the lives of your peers in danger? Out of what? The color of the skin? Pointed ears? sharp teeth?. How could you be so blind and don’t judge people by their deeds instead of their lookings or the deeds of others like them? Should I label all humans as crazy psychopaths with pyromaniac tendencies because of you? “ he raises a finger in front of his face “ No! Don’t even try to throw at me the wasted but their kin had made terrible things to us in the past. If there is bad and old grudges between races I could win that conversation without effort. But we “ he points to Elsara and himself “ have been able to see past that. When we first came here you all were afraid of the attacks of bandits or goblins. When we left your village we were assaulted by bandits. Do you know what attacked us in our way back here? Nothing. Nothing you stupid son of a hag, because they kept their word and their only presence keep the real monsters at bay. “ he stops at look at them “ Guess that I am wrong. The real monsters are in front of me. How many people have you endangered with your fire games tonight? How many kids could have died in the flames if we hadn’t stop that fire? Are you so lost? Have your fear and hate truly devoured your souls to the point that you are able to kill innocents just to have those that are different from you away? Are you so blind not to see what have you become? If we were in the wild I would kill you all to end your misery and to stop this curse of yours to spread, but we are civiliced, aren’t we? We don’t take justice by our own hands, don’t we? We do not try to impose our sights of the world to others with violence, don’t we? We are better than that of course, we are humans, and we represent the top of sentient enlightenment, right? “
He looks both of them in the eye for a few seconds and says
“ You get me sick. I pity the race of men. “
He then seems to calm down and stays on the door, letting the others speak or act.

Val is refraining himself not to turn into a wolf and kill them all. XD
DM: *Claps* And Val comes back with a strong Rebuttal. I should clarify again that if you didn't stop the fire, it would've burnt itself out and not spread to the other parts of the village. It probably would've spread to the forest though. Still a great speech. While I wait for Elsara and Hunin, I better try to come up with a counter to that argument. Though I'm not sure I can.

I remember you saying that about the fire, but...Val doesn’t know.. he only saw them starting a fire in the middle of the village :)
In fact if they say something like that he would reply “ Oh yes! Of course! You had the explosion and the fire under control... Excuse me oh great fire sorcerer... I tell you what, lets start a fire in your house and see what happens... how many more houses are catched up. You should not be worried, you have it under control.. haven’t you?”
XD
Aand with my own experience with fire... you never know.. that bastard tend to have its own ideas and runs faster than a lion behind a cebra ;)
Thanks for the comments :) I am happy that you liked :)
DM: Moving on... Samuel is on the ropes (Metaphorically speaking) and makes one last desperate attempt to attack and breakdown Val's argument.
"I see what you're saying. You say that you wouldn't consider all civilization to be bad because of things my men did. So does that mean you'd consider me bad for ordering my men to do said things?"
Valwarin looks at the man for a couple of seconds, not really knowing where he wants to go.
" I wouldn't say that you, or your men, are bad. Stupid, for sure, but not bad. Despite the twisted or misguided your actions are I am sure you are trying to do what you think is right. And that's the real problem Samuel. You don't understand that you need to open your mind. You want to work for your people and make your little place of the world safer? Then drop this madness and start working for it along with those around you that have the same porpouse. Your path only leads to more pain, suffering and deaths. It's enough. No more attacks, no more meaningless deaths. You have enough to worry about outside your town to cut down a helping hand " he motions his hand to point his prisioner man " and losing the other hand in the process. How many of your friends has to die against those who had made no wrong to you?. I know that taking steps towards trust and understanding is scary. But I don't have you " he turns to include the tied man in his phrase "any of you, for cowards. Show real valor and accept that, despite the race or origin of one individual or group, they can be different and you can thrive and live and fight together."
(Sorry, had computer problems over the weekend, and still under the weather.)
Elsara will step between the party and the elder. "That's enough! All of you!" She yells in general. She seems very annoyed and upset at the current goings on. She turns and points at the elder. "You told your followers to attack the Evans Clan. They set fire to their home, the place they live. It nearly spread and burnt down the rest of the buildings nearby, but didn't because we came in to help. In trying to harm them, you nearly killed the people you're so called protecting from a threat that's not even there!" She then looks to Gendan. "Gen, we're not here to draw weapons on people, please. We're trying to show the better way to resolve this, and just pulling out swords and hitting each other isn't always what's best. He's admitted he's the ringleader, let's just tie him up and present him to the town when they wake up, letting them know that their super wise elder guy nearly killed half the town because he doesn't like goblins."
DM: To make things easier on myself I've decided that Gendan's knock-out attempt will happen after the discussion is over. That is, if it needs to happen by then.
Samuel thinks for a while, processing the words of the two elves. "Maybe we can come to a compromise." Samuel says, "How about this: My men won't attack the Goblins anymore but in return, you need to leave us be and give us some better weapons and armor (Min Armor cost: 45gp/head ; Min weapon cost 45 gp/Head; You can give them money or you can choose what armor you give them as long as the total cost becomes 90 gp/head). The reason I want weapons and armor is as a safety net. We will let the goblins do what they are doing and if it turns out that they are planning to take over our home, we will put up a hard fight. We're going to need enough equipment to suit 10 people plus extra ammunition. (Cost: 945gp/7" = 135gp per party member). What do you say?"
Elsara frowns. "We can negotiate that later. First you need to tell the village that it's your fault that it nearly burnt down last night. We don't sweep things under the rug, and I think we should settle this by you, Vlad, and a couple of us being an outside party talking this over."
Elsara isn't convinced that just arming the side that is already attempting terrorism attacks is a good idea, and wants to try and settle this peacefully before any ideas of bringing extra swords into the mix.
"Let me get this straight. You have broken not only the pact you made with the goblins, but the laws of your own city by attacking members of it and bringing chaos to it. You have been discovered and aprehended, and have admited your crimes... and you want us to help you arm yourself and your little band of perpetrators with nothing more than your word that you only want to defend yourselves in case this goes south... taking into account that this attacks are the living proof that you have no word, for you have already broke the pact you made... and you are actually asking us for money to stop the attacks that doesn't have nothing to do with us, to keep peace in your village, that it has nothing to do with us, except for him who used to live here... I... " the elf is genuily caught off guard " ... I am not sure if you are crazy or this is normal in this places?" he asks looking to Hruin and Gendan.
"Ask the goblins for better war equipment in exchange for farming equipment as they asked us for, and tell them you want to join their forces, so you can keep an eye on them and actually help defend your people... and leave us out of it... " he rolls his eyes and starts walking away from what he thinks its crazy, still he gives Hruin his coin purse. " In case you need it, but he is crazy... " he says before going to the door. " I beg you all... please leave us out of this crazy village and their crazy people.... " he looks to Hruin " no offence... you look pretty good..." and he walks away before he really lose his temper and turn into a bear and eat Samuel's face off just out of frustration.
( I guess it was Hruin the one who used to live here, if it was Gendan just change the name... and accept my apologies. Val is trying... hard.. to understand the complexities of the human society... but they are giving him a hard time.. XD )
Hunin is so confused by Samuels logic. Tosses the sack of coins in his hand up a few times.
"I agree with Val 100%, I have 10 gold, to my name where to you think this armor and weapons come from? Go work with the Goblins learn from them." Looks over to Elsara "Sorry the Evans Clan, or move on to a new town. I think Gendan and Elsara have this pretty will covered I am going to give this back to Val." Tossing the sack up and catching as he turns to head out the door.
Once Hunin Catches up to val "No offense I left this town and didn't plan on returning. I think you are alright. Here is your gold back."

Samuel responds to the group, "I think you misunderstand me. I'm not saying I won't tell the villagers what happened. By letting us go, I mean my people. I was the one who ordered the attack and I will admit to the villagers as such when it's morning. No objections there. However, I will still hold that weapons and armor are necessary for self defense. If it pleases you, you can give to us at a later time, once you think we won't go back on our word. Working with the goblins in the meantime... may not be a bad idea."

Samuel says, "Yes Jeremy. Time to tell the truth."
Jeremy looks around quietly for a second before saying, "I lied last time. My leader is... Dr. Elias Chronomane."

You guys get the feeling that Jeremy isn't being very honest.

”You should know better than to lie to me!” Gendan flips back her hood revealing her bright red locks and comes nose to nose with Jeremy. In her fist, she holds a purple ball of energy that resembles the bolt that ran his accomplice right through.
