(So hunin believes what he is saying, but with my insight do I notice any twitches or nervousness? what is Samuel demeanor?)
"I don't know why Jeremy would point us to you if you had nothing to do with it? Is there something you aren't telling us? Samuel please, I only want what is best for the town and fires cowards masks aren't it!"
( If any decided to go with us Val will stop them saying " Better stay with him and protect him in case the masked one decided to end one of the supporters of the goblins... we will be here soon" )
"I am not sure if the others believe you or not. The fact that Jeremy named you specifically as the leader doesn't look good. What have you noticed in the time since the goblins have been on patrol here?"

(DM do i get details on this or was it considered a fail so I didn't notice anything)

DM: If I told you if you succeeded or not, that would kinda ruin the point wouldn't it? As far as Hunin knows, Samuel is telling the truth. I will throw you a bone here though. According to Hunin's Insight, Jeremy was not lying. Samuel is also not lying. Now how this contradiction is possible, I leave it up to you to decide.
Samuel says, "Those goblins. It started out fine at first. They worked the fields, did business and, most importantly, kept the Bronze Leaf (Bandits) away. However, I'm a bit torn on their idea of constructing a wall around the village. You saw the large wooden parts when you entered town. They are planning to construct a wall. I'm not too sure about it."
For the sake of balance, Gym stays with Hunin.
Oh and Samuel seems pretty calm though his speaking pace is sporadic.
When Gendan gets back to Jeremy she says, “Their stories don’t line up, but I trust the fear in this man’s voice more than a smooth-talking elder.” Gendan has always trusted someone more after she has threatened them a bit. “You’re coming back to the elder’s house with us.” She grabs Jeremy by the arm and escorts him out.
When the group were being invited in, Elsara will cast a Detect Magic and look around the elder's house while they talk. She hums quietly and looks more like an aloof high elf child would when invited into a human's house, with curiousity. Mainly, she wants to make sure there aren't any other evil icons, fetishes, symbols, or other things in the room, and to see if there is anything weird on or about the personage of the elder himself.
Right, that's mostly what Elsara was worried about when going there. She was concerned that maybe another evil curse was influencing people to be bad and bring the worst out in them, but now she thinks it's now down to their own desires etc.
Elsara kinda picks up on the conversation. "Hmm... So if you're not the leader of the baddies, but the baddie says it was you, then one of you is lying." Elsara says, hopping down from wherever she perched herself. She looks about the room as she talks. "Is there any reason that Mr. Cyanfur would say that you're the baddie's leader? Does he not like you, or have something to achieve from you being ousted as a villain?"

Does Hunin believe what he is saying? bBsed on any previous conversations he may have had with the man.

Yes. Hunin believes what Samuel is saying.

Gonna assume Gendan also believes him, so she leaves to get Jeremy and drag him over to the Samuel’s house to pit their words against one another.

"Yes... we all want what's best for the town."
Elsara, Hunin, are you going to go with Val and Gendan or are you going to stay with Samuel.
( If any decided to go with us Val will stop them saying " Better stay with him and protect him in case the masked one decided to end one of the supporters of the goblins... we will be here soon" )

Hunin will stay with Samuel.

Gendan, you will reach Samuel's house shortly. However, I want to see if Elsara or Hunin have anything to add first.
(Sorry, to backtrack a little bit)
When the group were being invited in, Elsara will cast a Detect Magic and look around the elder's house while they talk. Luckily her detect magic spell doesn't detect anything.

"I am afraid I don't know why he would mention me."
Moving on...
Gendan and Val arrive at the house again. This time with Jeremy.
“So here we are... time to tell the truth... who is your leader again?” Asks Valwarin to Jeremy.
