"We would like to inform you of some dreadful events that had transpired tonight. They are of the utmost importance for your village and its future, so excuse us for waking you up in this late hour... " 

Samuel gives you stern look and says, "What events?"

"Maybe we could come in and tell you about it, please." Elsara suggests. "It's better than shouting in the street in the early hours."

Samuel says, "Who are you people? You may not enter my house at this late hour."

Hunin will step forward "Samuel old friend, it is I Hunin, Sorry to have called on you so late. I am afraid there is something foul afoot. We ask for but a minute of your time. Please may we come in?"

Persuasion 21

Samuel recognizes Hunin since he has been around since Hunin was a kid. "Hunin? Didn't you leave to join the Guild? Okay come in." He lets you into his house.

"I did leave to join the guild, and oddly enough my first task was to escort a student of Dr. Chronomane back here. But the events that unfolded tonight could cause the town to fracture. Everything I sought to protect could be gone. Some men wearing cowardly masks have attacked the goblin outpost on the outskirts of town. We were able to put the fire out before it did to much damage. We come to you as someone that has long been apart of this community and having a strong heart and mind for the wellness of the people of the town, any idea why these men would be putting on these cowardly masks and attacking the protectors in the middle of the night?" 

Samuel sits down and says, "Their tactics are cowardly I will admit. Though I'm afraid I don't know why they would attack our protectors."

"We captured one of them: Jeremy Cyanfur." Gendan grunts from behind Hunin.

"Cyanfur? The local farmer? Do you think the guys in dark masks are brainwashing the villagers? I mean Cyanfur is an all-round good man."

"How do you think they would go about brain washing them? Why do you think it is brain washing? What are your thoughts on the Goblins being in town? I know we used to hide and have to fend them off but surely the tides have turned recently and things have been better off?"

"The tides have turned, I will admit. Admittedly, I'm a bit unsure of the goblin's intentions but they've been protecting the town so I don't have any qualms with them. As for brainwashing, I'm afraid I don't know. I just thought that because you said Cyanfur was working with the people who set fire to the goblin's guard post. He is a nice guy and I don't thick he would do that under normal circumstances."

"Hmm, that is very interesting. well I am sorry to have bothered this late evening for no reason." Hunin will start to turn. but then will turn back

"One last thing, Do you know why Jeremy would have told us you were the leader of the cowards in the masks?"

DM: *Laughs* Nice one.

Jeremy says, "Me? The leader of the guys in dark masks? No. I don't know why Jeremy mentioned my name."

"Maybe I should just go back and get Jeremy and bring him here, so he can speak for himself." Gendan's not bluffing. She actually will go grab Jeremy and put him before the elder if nobody in the party gives her reason not to.

DM: Or you guys could go the easy way and roll insight to see if the elder is lying or not.

Valwarin is bored of all of this. 

“Let the man be, it’s late and if he doesn’t care that half of their neighbors prefer to burn the village down and get most of the other killed just becathey are so stupid and short-minded that weren’t able to accept that working with the goblins they all would thrive, they just deserve to die. I would suggest Vlad to leave this stupids alone and die for an attack of another humanoid clan or monster or just bandits... “ he turns to Elsara “ we should advice the Chronomancer to leave too I guess that he would find a suitable place to work at the Guild. And your family Hunin “ he adds “ I can see that they are not as dumb as the rest of them and I would be more than happy to escort them back to safety. “ 

He is insulting Jeremy and the rest of the village on porpouse.

(For the record Valwarin doesn’t really cares. If he is lying and he is actually the leader of the masked ones, he is leading its own people towards destruction, if he is not, his complacency and ignorance is. He just doesn’t want to have nothing to do with it. ;) )
