Gendan eyes the gap. “Piece of cake.” She backs up a little ways and gives it a running start and launches herself.
(Should be an easy feat for Gendan with a STR of 19. Jump Rule: Long Jump. When you make a long jump, you cover a number of feet up to your Strength score if you move at least 10 feet on foot immediately before the jump.)
Gendan rears up and jumps back to the side with the group. “I could do this all day.” She is loving the extra strength from her new gloves, and it makes her even more arrogant than normal. She reaches into her pack and pulls out a harness from her climbing gear. “Why don’t you put this on. Runt and I will get you across.” Using the harness and some rope, Gendan and Runt should be able to get Barry safely across, even if Runt is throwing him.
DM: Yes, it is possible to get him there safely but it isn't without risks.
Barry doesn't want to be thrown over a pit. "H-Hey. That's no way to go about doing things. Surely there is some other way. I mean, maybe we might actually want to climb down the pit and see where it goes? Eh?"
“For all we know, if we lower Barry down there, all we’ll get back is half a skeleton, but maybe he’s right, we should check out what’s down there.” Gendan is willing to go down, but only if Runt stays up to hail people back. (I think at least two should go down to check it out: Val or Elsara, and Gendan or Runt.)
Briggs steps forward and says, "Well, it's like 40 ft deep right? Maybe I can let us see what's down there from up here."
He grabs a large stone from the ground and casts Light on it. He then drops it down the hole. It lights up the hole as it falls and finally hits the ground 40ft below. It lights up the hole enough for people to see what's down there. 20ft down,. reveals some kind of passage that stretches east-west. It is on the same level as the floor you just came out of but when you were still wandering around in the tunnels below, you don't remember seeing any doors that would lead to this section. Unless of course, the door guarded by the two Yuan-ti said to house their queen eventually leads to the section visible through the hole.
20ft further down, you see another three passages. These ones seem to be a bit wider. These passages are about 15ft wide. They stretch north-south with another passage going eastward. As the illuminated rock falls, you think you saw something retreat into the shadows but you aren't sure.
Also Gendan, as Briggs urges you to step aside a bit so that he can toss the stone down (the hall is 5ft after all. Everyone can't all just gather around the hole), you notice he is also wearing some gauntlets with ogre motifs on them. They are very similar to yours
Also Elsara would notice the gauntlets (both Gendan's and Briggs') are mangical when she cast Detect Magic. I just forgot to mention it. Sorry, my bad.
Sounds good. Ill act as the anchor as you all go down. With Gendan's blessing, Runt takes the rope looks for a place to tie one end off, if one cant be found she will use herself as the anchor

Runt ties the rope to herself while Briggs holds on to her in the off chance she might lose her footing. Gendan begins to descend. Does Val go with her? If Val doesn't go, does Gendan go alone or with someone else?
As she lowers herself a bit, it becomes apparent that this is not going to be easy. There are no walls or anything for you to grab on to. There are walls but they are out of your reach. You are suspended in air with the rope. Gendan, Make a DC 15 Acrobatics check. Do it with disadvantage if you are holding Val.
Elsara will make a mark with a piece of chalk before looking to the group prepping this climbing setup. She examines the magical aura upon the gauntlets, assuming they are used to heighten their striking prowess, and watch as Val is carried down. She has Feather Fall ready in case they trip and fall.
The hole is 10ft long. The stone falls and about 3 seconds later, you hear the sound of it hitting the ground. The hole is around 40 ft deep.

Gendan clears the hole with no problem. Barry gets a little nervous and says, "I can't jump that far."
Can Runt safely throw Barry over the gap ?

Seems climbable enough to me. Shall we descend? Run asks the group, wanting to know our next course of action.

Would be possible for Val to descend in wolf form? Any kind of outgoing or edge that could be used to descend?
PbP Character: A few ;)
Nope. Unless you can fall 20ft without taking damage.
Others can try hanging off the edge of the hole and then flinging themselves onto the hall way 20ft down.
“I’ll bet I could hold Val if I put on a harness and you belayed me down, Runt.”

Gendan motions to Val to hop into her gauntlet-clad arms. She knows he can’t respond, but could definitely understand what they were discussing.

(Gonna wait to see what Val's decision was as to whether he was descending with Gendan)

Val jumps into Gendan's arms. The look in his eyes is like "Are you sure of this?" but he stay relaxed not to complicate more things.
