Devarus tries to play it cool as he took out a Crackerjack. But then in narrowing his eyes on the half-drow flings it up at the cieling where the dots appear to disappear. Or at least, he looked about ready to unless anyone stopped him, but hesitates at Elsara's findings, assuming its passed along. And if so, he spends at least a few more precious moments see if he could make out any odd patterns int he heavy dust to suggest something having moved them even slightly.
"Until then, Ms. Ruu, you have to be satisfied with finding their latest monster, and bringing out their end." He said calmly, then made his way to check out whichever room Elsara indicates (assuming she did so).

Goyo - [Tortle]Druid/Warlock - Circle of Sea/Celestial (Libretalia)
Drozo - [Hobgoblin]Cleric - Blood Domain (Call of the Netherdeep)
Val begins heading back. It will take quite some time but he eventually manages to return. The room is empty. He doesn't know where the others went. (Neither do I because they would be a bit further along by the time Val gets back.)
They seem to have left on their own volition. Val will find the open door left in the hall way on the floor beneath. This is the same door that the others uncovered from behind the bookcase.
Val will also see the blood on the floor next to the door which led to the room with Bill's body.
Val: Noted. We'll see where they're headed soon I guess.
Val enters the dusty wood room. Lots of footprints are left in the dust. The footprints seem to belong to his teammates. In the lower square of the room, there is a crossbow trap that has already been triggered. A few drops of blood is on the floor. The only other door on the lower square is on the east wall and it is open. The office beyond is coated with red blood with the torn and splattered remains of Bill. The drawers are open and are empty. The upper square has two doors: one on the east wall and another one on the west wall.
Val, give me a Perception check and tell me what do you do?
Party:
Deva opens the west door. It does not seem trapped. Opens may not be the right word since the door was so swollen it is impossible to open or close. So it was left ajar; not closed but it was not possible to see the other room. A gentle push slowly swings the door open until the swollen wood gets out of the way enough for people to step through to the next room. The room next to it has moss growing on the stone floor. It is a large dining room with a very tall ceiling and a slightly elevated floor. The room reeks of rotting water and sewage yet there seems to be no discernible source of this foul stench. A large dining table sits at the center. There are a total of 6 chairs around the table, all in various stages of rot and decay. The north wall seems to have been torn down at some point a long time ago. It was done ages ago but it was done poorly so it seems the extension on the north side was added much later after the room itself was built. The extension in question is a elevated wooden floor that's 5ft high and bordered from the rest of the dining room with a brass railing. Blue-green rust has completely coated the railing to the point where the original brass underneath is not visible. Moss covered stairs lead to this elevated wooden platform. On the "new" north wall, accessible from this platform are two rusted steel doors. It is unclear if the doors are locked or not but it is clear that metal doors are too rusted to be opened without brute-forcing through them. The wooden dining table has also swollen up. Another swollen wooden door is on the south wall. This wood was painted green and thus is less swollen than the door which Deva pushed to enter this room. It might still take some force to get through these doors. Next to the stairs is a stone fireplace.
DM: None of the doors in this room besides the one you entered can be opened without an Athletics check (roll with advantage if someone is helping). No matter what you roll, you will be able to open it. The athletics check will determine how long it will take and how much noise it will make.
The door is incredibly stuck is impossible to push open. With the Athletics check of 25 however, she can just break the door down in two swings of her great sword. Deva, pick a door.
Val: Roll Perception and state next intended action.
Val: (Others don't read. I is LITERALLY a quest spoiler. No, Val isn't dead. He has 3 HP left)
Val enters the room searching for his friends. He gets the feeling that he is being watched and there is strong alcoholic and pungent stench in the air but looking around, there is nothing he can see. Suddenly he feels like a large sickle slashes across his back, cutting through his armor like butter. It was not a clean cut by any means. The blade was dull yet it could tear through things most fine swords would fail to cut. His wound burns like the very fires of hell as the tissue around it has already died and decomposed as if the wound had been left in mud for days. Val quickly turns around to face his attacker. He is met by the smiling face of a creature that may be the ugliest human he had seen. In fact, he wasn't even sure if the creature was a human at all. It's eyes where bloodshot and covered in puss. It smiled at Val with a face full of putrid rotted teeth that were somehow still thicker and bigger than any human teeth should be. It's breath reeked of strong alcohol, and rotting flesh as if it had sustained itself in nothing but alcoholic lamp fuel (90% Alcohol) and rotting flesh. The right side of it's face appeared to have melted down, putting its left eye half an inch lower than its right. A clump of skin fused a section of its lower and upper lip shut on the right side of its unnaturally large mouth. Its yellow jaundiced skin was splattered with dark spots of dead skin, moles, boils and even the occasional tumor. It seemed to wear a very old, very dirty and very torn white shirt that had torn to the point of being rags. Before Val could see much more, another slash connected with Val's stomach and almost disemboweled him. The rusty sickle in the creature's hand shown with a sinister dark crimson and trailed dim red light as it swung. Val puked a good amount of blood and the creature rose its other sickle above its head to impale Val's brains through the back of his head. The druid however, stumbled back clutching his stomach wound and dodged the deadly blow. The creature re-positioned itself. It's legs ended in meaty stumps that were attached to a strange rusty metal contraption. The tips of its metallic legs clacked on the ground like a metallic spider.
Runt and Gendan work together to bust down the north doors. Runt swings. BANG. The old metallic door bends and the sound of the metal banging against metal reverberates though the room. Runt swings again. SNAP. The old rusty hinges of the metal door snap and the door flies forward. It lands just in front of a wooden table. This one has not swollen up like the other ones. The air in the room is stale and heavy. It seems the room, which was not very ventilated to begin with became even less so after the door rusted up. The green paint of the walls have mostly flaked away, revealing the old bricks beneath. The table has multiple drawers, all containing various tools but they are rusted beyond use. There is a strong lamp hanging from the ceiling but that too is out of oil. It may still be usable though if someone refills it. This room seemed to be some kind of workshop. There are no other doors in this room.
The other North door also goes down in two swings. The room is very small and cramped. It also has the tacky green paint on it. There is a small table and a pile of books, scrolls and paper in the north corners of the room. The paper is damaged beyond salvage by the strange moisture in the office and the dining room before it that doesn't have an obvious source.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
In spite of the clarity of futility, Devarus made his way over to the northern corner to at least try to pick among the remains for even a sliver of a section to have survived the watery decay. The books especially are of interest, as he had at least some hope of their covers remain intact. "Just how in the world had this place become so flooded? A spell gone wrong?" He asked, and would at least glance at Elsara before returning to his investigations of everything in the northern corner.
Investigation: 18. (Just in case there is at least a little something)

Deva, checking the decaying books, it seems nothing survived. Though Deva does find enough faded writings and barely readable text from the collective pile to know that the books where not about anything magical but rather, the books' contents where more erotic in nature.
Also just to be clear: the room isn't flooded. It just has an unusual amount of water vapor in the air given that there is no source from where this excess water vapor would come from.
Runt growls in low tones. When I find the one who makes this fullness, I will rip their arms off and feed them to them.
