Devarus gives Runt a nod if she should look back, signalling her to open the south wall's door. In the meantime, he swapped Scattershot for the longbow and readies a shot for any surprises that may be lurking beyond it.

The door leads to an empty dusty kitchen. It has cabinets contain broken glass and packs of rations that have been voraciously eaten, the covering torn off. This had happened years ago. Every edible thing from spices to rations to pickles have all been rotting for a few decades and was eaten few years ago. The most disturbing thing however is that the nail marks that are left from the way the packs were torn suggests that it was done by a child of age 11 or 12. Given the age of the things that have been torn, the child, if it is indeed alive now, would be 14 or 15. Other than this, the kitchen also appears to have the skeletons and teeth of creatures like rats, snakes, possums, mongooses and the odd cat skeleton. Judging by the age of the bones, these carcasses did not turn into skeletons from decomposition. Rather, the flesh of these creatures were picked clean after they were killed, as if they were eaten. Dried blood from these myriad of different creatures paint the white marble floor. that lies under spotty dust. There is another green wooden door in the south wall but it has multiple holes in it, as if someone struck it with a kitchen knife. A combination of the assailant's questionable strength combined with the age of the blade made the knife ineffective against the door but it was enough to cause large holes in it. Large enough for small creatures to sneak in. There is a significantly more serious damage on the handle of the door, breaking the deadbolt on the other side and preventing the door from being locked or closed ever again. By the foot of the door is the broken remains of the rusty knife and a bent hammer. There are small marks of dried blood on the handle of the hammer.
Beyond the broken door is as small corridor that goes east and then bends north and ends in a cellar door. The south wall of the corridor is made of metal, the north wall is made of stone like the rest of the house. The "roof" is just metal bars with gaps big enough for small creatures but not big enough for humanoids to pass through. Beyond the bars, the open night sky can be seen. This suggests that the door originally led to a garden or outdoor area but the grate and the metal fence was put in later to make it a corridor instead.
Elsara, make an Arcana check. You may detect something interesting due to using Detect Magic to look at Affectus Uti so much.
(Because of making Investigation checks on rooms that didn't really have any thing useful, I decided to give you a free success on Investigation in this room. Described the things as if someone tried investigation and rolled a nat20. Who investigated it? Doesn't matter RP it based on which of you wants to be the guy to find these things out.)
Devarus took point once more upon discovering no dangers inside, as he was want to do. For after that last few rooms discovery, the investigator side of the watchman within saw a mystery in need of unraveling, and old ghost put to rest. But he did not do so alone. He would turn to Runt and Elsara when it came to investigating the animal skeleton's, if but to confirm them to be what they were, and the age of decay. Elsara would be the one most likely to catch the marks, and determining its source, further painting the picture in Devarus' mind.
But it is the damage to the door and the struggle that had to take place to puts the final touches. Whether it was Gendan, Devarus, or someone else entirely that added those final strokes. Devarus had to take a few moments after to just rub at his forehead. "I.... We still need more evidence. But, judging by all the signs, whatever child had been kept here must've been affected -- perhaps even intentionally been experimented upon by that twisted magic. If so, keep a close eye out for any forgotten documents, as it could be we may need them." At that, he'd gesture and follow Runt out of the broken door and into the small corridor beyond it.
It's only by then that he stops and looks back. "Val... He should've found us by now." He comments on out loud. Yet the moment of concern gets brushed somewhat aside upon remembering the elf's shape shifting abilities. And so trusting him to be more than capable of escape if ever the need comes, he heads for the cellar door intending on open it. With some type of man eviscerating beast on the loose, if it came down to breaking open said door as well due to some lock, he had little compunctions this time around.

Well if I've been followed correctly Val has a room to try to hide either at the office or at the workshop or the long, serpent corridor to try to lose it, right?
Deva and Runt hear a subtle sound. It sounds like heavy stone rubbing against stone. It seems to be coming from the direction of the dining room with the swollen furniture. It wasn't a continuous sound. It was present for a few seconds and then it stopped.
Devarus freezes up as soon as he heard the noise, and instinctively hand held up a fist. "Do you hear that?" He asked. Seeing recognition in at least Runt's eyes, Devarus nods then looks to the others. "Double time it back to the dining room. The damaged one. Quickly. It could Val." He once again donned Scattershot, and would hurriedly make his way either a step behind Runt, or ahead of the pack.

The Party heads back. A strong alcoholic and pungent stench gets stronger and stronger the closer they get to the room. They enter to find a severely injured Sabre-Tiger running into the North Room. On the table is a strange creature that may or may not be the ugliest human they had seen. The amount of Affectus Uti radiating from the thing sends a headache to spike through Elsara. (Make a Concentration check to keep concentration on the spell. If you don't drop the spell/succeed concentration, you take 1d4 Psychic damage from the strong magic). The creature had puss filled bloodshot eyes. It's mouth was filled with putrid teeth that were in various stages of decay. The teeth were bigger and thicker than any human teeth should be. It reeked of the smell of alcoholic lamp fuel and rotting fresh. Its head was bald save for clumps of long black hair. The right side of it's face appeared to have melted down, putting its left eye half an inch lower than its right. A clump of skin fused a section of its lower and upper lip shut on the right side of its unnaturally large mouth. Its yellow jaundiced skin was splattered with dark spots of dead skin, moles, boils and even the occasional tumor. It seemed to wear a very old, very dirty and very torn white shirt that had torn to the point of becoming rags. It's arms were disproportionately large and muscular, almost as if the once human arms had mutated and grew into something that would fit a hairless gorilla more than a human. It's legs ended in bloody fleshy stumps. Attached to each stump was a rusty metal contraption with a sharp metal tip at the end, giving the legs the appearance of metallic spider legs.
Surprisingly, the abomination speaks in common as it sees the party, "Eheheheh, Time to go." It sounds very much human albeit one that is very sick and asthmatic. The creature disappears though small clicks of metal followed by a crashing sound in the other room indicates to the party that it had merely turned invisible. The dining room looks the same as it did when the party left it except for one thing: The back of the fireplace is missing. It seems the fireplace lead to a secret tunnel of some kind.
What does the party do now?
DM advice: Splitting up is not advisable in horror movies.

Elsara winces at the suffocating amount of magic emanating from the creature as it begins to flee."Wait..."She looks to the others. "We need to give chase."
(Were there any signs of it casting to turn invisble? If so, Elsara can attempt to counterspell it. It would require some verbal and/or somatic components to do so.)
