Samson would stay at the doorway and looking at the group say, "I don't like this. We should find a different place to stay, because this place seems abandoned." He'll back up towards the cart and stable, and stand by the horse.
Logan pulls his cloak up over his nose as he looks around, "Lovely town." his words muffled somewhat. He goes back outside to look down the road and at other nearby buildings for signs of any life at all.

"A warm welcome indeed," Clarity adds, nodding at Logan. She starts walking slowly down the road and peering into windows to see the state of the other nearby buildings.
Geoffrey's eyes cast around the abandoned inn swallowing against the gorge the smell of rancid meat causes, "Something isn't right. Cass, you seem familiar with the town. Is there anything that could cause this? Plague? Curfew by local militia? Any gangs that might clear out an inn?"

Cas pushes pass all of you and leads the other women into the dark Inn. She walks over to a drawer and pulls it open, grabbing something within. There is a spark and a lick of flame appears on the end of a match she is holding. She lights 3 of the Wall sconces before turning back around to face the five of you. "This is my Inn Strangers, please come in if you would light the hearth. I'll get some of the dried meats and prepare a meal for you as thank you for your help."
The other women are busily lighting sconces and clearing away the rancid meat, it isn't long before the smell is replaced by the Pleasant odor of a soft lavender mixed with honey.
Now that the interior is lit, you can see that it is quite a cozy spot. 2 tables and 12 chairs, a heart on one side and a traditional fire pit in the center. Over which there is a empty spit roast, A faded blue carpet lines the floor on either side of the pit along with a series of drinking horns. Cas rushes off into a room behind the main counter and reappears moments later with a bowl full of dried meats and bread. You hear the sound of flowing ale as one of the women taps a barrel behind the counter and begins filling five of the Horns.

"Oh, in that case, do you mind if I play a bit then? It's been a while since I practiced. Don't want to get too rusty!" If she agrees, Samson will start playing basic songs that every traveler knows, but with flourishes here or there to make them sound new and complex.
Logan actually stays just outside the door while the place airs out, listening to the activity and eyeing the town around them. Eventually he goes inside, straight to the hearth and moves his hands over it as fire errupts in the wood (using prestidigitation).

First off, Outside. Clarity, the snow storm is raging on but has slackened and it does make the area more perceivable. You take a moment and glance threw a couple windows on 2 nearby buildings, there is no movement or light in either of them. It would seem this part of town is abandoned.
Inside the Prancing Hen. Thanks to Logan a roaring fire takes the Hearth, the wood snaps and pops as the flames begin to burn its way threw it. Making sure to throw a few more pieces of wood into the hearth you are welcomed by the smell of Fresh Ale and Salted Meats.
"Oh by all means Sir, if you know how to play please do. It would be a wonder to hear a tune after the last few weeks." Samson begins to play a Ballad everyone in the continent is accustomed to hearing at a Inn or Tavern. The ballad is a tale of a Lost man woefully making his way in the wilderness, Learning to survive with what is at his fingertips and eventually becoming smitten with the wilderness and choosing to live his life in his small piece of paradise. While there was never a true name put to the ballad, Most just call it "The Huntsman."
"Oh I've had this place for almost 3 winters, Back before the Valiant took hold and Crestfell actually meant something. Not many patrons pass by anymore." Cas idly speaks as she sets about boiling a few vegetables over the hearth.

"The Forestry kept this town afloat for decades, All kinds of trees naturally grow around here and grow rather fast. it takes not but 4 years for a a sapling to become a 12 foot tree, The Ground is rich with nutrients so the Researchers have said." She sticks a wooden spoon into the pot and stirs the vegetables around, throwing in a couple carrots. "Though in recent years the trees are'nt growing as much as they once did and the ones that do usually die as soon as winter comes around." She takes a breath as she sets the spoon down and turns to face you Logan.
"Truth is, the town is dying. In more ways then one, the demand for fine timber has become less and less. With it workers leave to start new lives elsewhere, they take their families and never turn back. Its why most houses in this part of town is abandoned. Some blame the Valiant, claiming they brought a plague with em. The Valiant blame supposed 'Witches' and often burn a woman alive just for preparing herbal medicine." Her face is somber as she speaks, Like someone who is truly sad because their home is no longer what it once was.
The Other woman have stopped and listened to Cas's recounting of events, Each of them has a slightly sad expression on their face. "I was born and raised in this town, I know every inch of it by memory....but running a Tavern in a town where no one comes to stay is a hard life."
Geoffrey the fire is warm and Inviting, its bright flame is soothing to you and you know that this is where the Eternal Flame wants you to be.

Samson's playing shifts to a more somber tune, one called the Hard Road Ahead. The lyrics describe how even though you know the road ahead is long and difficult, it will take you to where you need to go. The end picks up into a more upbeat tune, signaling the end of hardships.

Samson your brief run in with Members of Valiant did'nt give you much information about them. You know they are a private army of hired thugs and mercenaries and that's pretty much it. The act of burning 'Witches' is a drastic measure wherever you go because the practice of both Divine and Arcane based magic has never been considered taboo. "A general store, eh? Let's go see what they have." Alethra waits for any companions before heading to the store. When she gets there, she asks Gevin (or whoever is helping), "Excuse me, do you have a map?"
Alethra seems rather Impatient as she taps her foot expectantly, Whether becoming annoyed with waiting or is just anxious to get to this General store. Out into the street she go's after so long. The Snow has all but stopped at this point there is still some very light snowfall but no where near what it was before, the wind has come to a halt for the moment and the clouds overhead are beginning to break. Letting threw the last bit of sunlight for the day as the sun touches the horizon.
Alethra, the snow is Deep and hard to walk threw. Coming up to your knees you have to make wide steps to get threw it. You walk for 20 minutes, Passing Boarded up and derelict buildings along the way. This area of Crestfell is definitely abandoned and by the looks of some of the houses, Have been for some time now. You eventually see a Small, Single story brick building with a simple wooden door. Over the door there is a sign with a woodburn into it that reads. "Gevins Haul." A weird name but a name none the less. You Barge into the building swinging the door open and smacking a small girl in the face with it. She is sent onto her butt and her hands cover her face. This blonde haired child, no more then 9 years of age begins to screech as blood flows from her nose.
A Burly looking man, Muscular from a life of hard labor work. Strides into the area from a side door at the sound of the child screeching. "Marie?, YOU GET THE **** OUT OF MY HOUSE BEFORE I CUT YOUR HEAD OFF." The Burly man grabs an ax laying against the wall and shoves you out of the building and into the snow. Slamming the door, you hear the shift of wood as a beam is placed across the inside to prevent entry.
You did in fact see a series of maps for sale behind a counter in the brief moment you were inside, You figure that barging into buildings isnt the best idea in this section of Town.
