Thormund leads you to his house. It's neither particularly large nor particularly small. Clay pots with flowers line one side of the door under a windowsill. It's located near other houses, but slightly out of the way and the dirt road isn't as compacted here as other areas in Hampstead. Inside the house is a humble abode with the trappings of a well-to-do but not particularly family. There's a pot in a hearth for cooking, table and chair, bed, and other items such as books and quills for writing.

Do I see anything pointing towards where someone was forced out of where there was a breakin in the house?

Let's roll perception/investigation for that.

Raker looks for footprints extending out from the house, anything to match the prints that were seen.  He looks for anything unusual outside the house, out of place.  

Perception : 19 

Raker gets a good look at the interior of the house. His keen eyes are able discern that the interior is mostly undisturbed, however he does see a book sprawled on the floor with its pages spread on the floor, contrasted with neat bookstacks elsewhere. Outside the home you're able to find a faint set of tracks mixed in amongst the others that look like they could come have come from a bare-footed woman. You also notice a small green glinting in the dirt.

With a 10, Lyrai is able to see the house looks rather in tact without signs of a break-in. However she does notice the book on the floor with its pages open in contrast to the neatly stacked books as something out of place in comparison to the rest.

Raker picks up the book that was out of place, cocking his head and looking at it with interest, quickly skimming it and looking for any notations, also where the reading stopped.  When outside, he notes the woman’s footprints, pointing them out to the others, “Look, we must follow them!”  Then he bends down, getting very close to the ground to examine the green glittering substance, pointing that out as well, trying to understand what it is.  

Investigation (of green glittering substance) : 11

As Raker examines the book he finds it be a collection of fairy tales filled with fantastical notions like candles powered by harnessed lightning and wagons driven not by horses, but by metal furnaces inside them. The pages show wear and tear with extensive dog-earing and other methods of keeping one's place. As best he can tell the reading appears to have paused in the middle of a chapter. 

Picking up the glittering green, he examines it and finds the green thing appears to be a scale of some sort.

You overhear a young, well-dressed man with deeply tanned skin and bright green eyes talking with the guard captain, “Who is the lord of these lands?  Have they been notified of the disappearances?”  The young man has a quiet confidence about him.  He seems comfortable assuming a position of authority.

Also, his skin seems to have fine scales around his temples and brows.

The captain seems momentarily taken aback in surprise but the man's quiet confidence seems to assure him and he responds, "Lord Thalorin is in charge of these lands. We sent a rider off to ask him for aid a week ago. If we're lucky and nothing hinders his journey we may hear back by the end of this week. But the lord's resources are not as ample as others' and Hampstead is a lesser town within his domain. So for now we're relying on word of mouth to hopefully bring aid. Have you come to help get to the bottom of these disappearances?" His eyes look hopeful as he asks the last question.

Lyrai will nock an arrow, but not aim, just in case something goes wrong.

Gaius nods along with the captain in agreement.  "Yes, that is quite a problem you are in right now.  I am, of course, happy to help you in any way that I can.  Having people go missing is very disturbing.  This seems like a lovely village.  I'm sure nothing like this has happened in the past?" he watches the captain for reaction to that question and then moves on.  "These folks seem to be I the midst of looking for clues.  Let's make introductions and see if we can come up with a plan," he gestures for the captain to join him as he begins walking towards the group searching around the house.

As they near he speaks up, "Hello.  I am Gaius.  The captain and I were just discussing how to go about getting to the bottom of these disappearances.  You seem to be well on your way in a search.  Is there anything I can do to help you?  I am happy to work along with you to solve this mystery."

Gaius is a young human man with dark, tanned skin and brilliant green eyes with golden flecks seen in the iris.  He has fine scales across the ridge of his brows extending to his temples.  You can see the back of his hands have the same scales as well.  He is dressed in very well tailored traveling clothes.  The clothes are not ostentatious, just very well made and fit to him.  You can see a dagger on his hip, but no other weapons.  He demeanor seems calm and assured.

Lyrai icily responds “We’re conducting an investigation, not a meet and greet for rich adventurers. Before you try to coup this operation at least help first”

She will, however, put the Aro back in her quiver.

Gaius takes in the unintroduced woman's message as he looks over to a group of what appear to be town guard milling about.  "Perhaps your men need some direction, Captain," he addresses the guard captain.  After allowing him a moment to move out of earshot he turns to the archer.  "I spoke with the guard captain.  He has sent a rider to Lord Thalorin who is responsible for this land.  Unfortunately, it will be a week at best before any word comes back from him.  The Lord's resources are stretched a bit thin as well it seems, and, this is a small village under his domain.  It is unlikely much help will arrive it any does.  Investigating this falls on the captain who looks to be in water too deep."

Gaius shows open palms at his side and extends his hand, "I am Gaius and offer to assist in investigating this and the other disappearances.  My interest is personal.  I have been traveling alone through this area and would like to see some sense of safety return.  Perhaps you and your group would like to combine our efforts?"

“Combine efforts..”. Raker says back to Gaius in his own voice.   “Perhaps.  That’s what’s I said.”  He keeps looking down at the green substance, holds it up closer observing the scale, then brings it closer to Gaius’s hand, to see if it matches in shape and size, if not color.  “We found footprints.  Should follow.”  His head snaps up and he regards him, looking down his beak at him.  “I’m Raker.  Come.  Join in if you can help..”

Gaius extends his arm to show a more extensive scaling pattern, and, that the scales do not match.  "I have heard of bird people but never met one.  It is my pleasure," he bows slightly.  "Thank you for inviting me to join your efforts.  What kind of foot prints did you find?   Also, may I examine the scale?"

He examines the scale to see if he recognizes anything about it.

Investigation: 12

With a 20, Gaius is able to examine the scale and determine it's draconic in nature. From it's size and comparing it to your own scales from your draconic heritage you can deduce it's a scale from something smaller scale in size.

Relic turns to look at the newcomer, his 'face' impassive as ever.

"Ah, welcome," the robot says. "I thought the tracks resembled those of some kind of reptile, but I could not say more than that. It is good to have another join us for this task; after all, there is safety in numbers."
