“There was the flying fish, which we have seen, and then a loud beast noise that one of the locals said sounded like a were beast. Hesaid he didn’t see it but it may be similar to what Peren heard last night”

((So I take it we're going further up the mountain. I will need Survival checks from each of you. Depending on how the group does on average may determine how your upward slog goes.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
The morning hike starts off pretty well, with the skies holding back the bulk of their storms for a couple of hours. With the help of your aerial companion, Mub, you manage to stay on the clearer trails that haven't been washed out by what look to be fairly recent mudslides. However, your luck changes shortly after that. With a distressing peal of thunder, the clouds open up and rain begins to pour down in a rather torrential manner, driving Mub to the ground and eliminating any real sight advantage he could have offered.
((There will be more on this later, but I have a meeting a I need to get to.))

The storm actually seems to lift Kathra's spirits a little, and she grins at each clap of thunder. "Beats having to talk to a bunch of dwarven bureaucrats, doesn't it?"
It's not long before the game trail you were fallowing ends in a washout. There seems to be more mud in the surrounding area, as the nearby plant life appears to have been stripped down almost to the roots in some places. The ground looks fairly churned, but the rains have either wiped away or filled in any tracks that would indicate what manner of creature or creatures caused this. As you travel further up the mountain, the sheltering forest gives way to sparse trees and muddy bare rocks. It is a slow climb from here, as walking becomes hazardous on the rain-slick ground. For a time, you seem to lose the river as visibility decreases and the sounds of the storm drown out even the rushing waters. At one point, during a rather bright flash of lightning, you think you see humanoid figures moving along a ridge further up, their amorphous afterimages dance in your eyes as the dark rain again clouds your vision. Striving that direction, it takes you about another hour of winding through mud and stone to come to the ridge. It seems like a natural path, carved along the cliff-side, running with rain water, that drains back into the river below. Up ahead, you see...and now hear over the storm, a roaring waterfall that seems to be a featured source of the river. The waterfall flows over the ridge, splashing down into a small lagoon of sorts some thirty feet below before flowing down the mountain. Around the lagoon, a pebbly beach stands wet with rain water and decorated with various damp drift-woods. It's hard to tell, but you think there may be signs of a darker cave mouth lurking behind the falling water.

Gavin feeling pretty soaked and miserable points out what he thinks may be a cave behind the waterfall to the others. ((How much water do we need to go through before getting to waterfall? How big/deep is this lagoon?))
”Some shelter from the storm may be not such a bad idea.”
((The path you are on now is about ankle deep in rain run-off. It empties into the lagoon which, if you stay along the edge, shouldn't be more than shin-deep water before passing through the waterfall itself and to the cave mouth behind it.))

Mub set to go back to town or walk with everyone to the stop he saw before.
“Anyone want to see a waterfall, I promise I won’t go swimming this time...unless there is good reason to :)” says Gavin
Mirabel shrugs. "If there is more strangeness for us to find, then I am all for taking a look around." He stops to think.
"What were some of the other odd rumors you all heard about last night? We may as well keep track of them."

((Yes, you are.))
Kathra seems a bit more interested. "A werebeast might be more convincing than some weird fish. Let's go hunting."
