Mirabel shrugs. "What's to lie about? There was a weird dude and some golems, probably left over from a previous tenant. The storm seals were drawn down by, let's call it strange weather. Once in a lifetime stuff. We took care of the problem, and wouldn't say no to some kind of payment."
“I suggest we lie about the demigod in the making as well as the spell engine”, says Gavin with a smirk
”Also, Peren and I need to head over to the Harper and Goblet and meet with Della at some point. Do we want to go speak to the clan leaders first? I have a feeling I’m going to want a drink immediately after talking to those self important fools.”
((Seems good. So, which dwarves are you headed to first? Will you speak with Bhaerny, the Watch Captain at the gatehouse tower, or try your luck at the Krakhal Clan hold?))

((Ha ha whoops sorry I've been ill for the last like.... five days or so and didn't check this thread))
Kathra frowns as she considers the party's options, and seems remarkably cheered by Mirabel's suggestion. "Yes! Let's go see the watch captain. Maybe we won't have to talk to the Krakhal Clan at all. Maybe."
As a group, you all head over to the watchtower by the roadside leading into the northern entrance of Rockmount. A familiar pair of dull-grey armored dwarves greets you at the door, giving Mub a weary glance, as one would give a doddering old relative, before letting you inside. The main floor is pretty much how you remember it; a handful of dwarves move about from desks and tables, there's a large map on the wall with various pins and colors that you never really learned the meaning of, and sort of in the middle of the more organized chaos stands the older dwarf in shinier armor that you know to be Bhaerny.

(( think you guys briefly crossed paths with Bhaerny or his guards around page 8 or 9? Anyway, you know him to be the local guard captain. He wasn't as much of a dick as the dwarves in the clan hold; just busy and seeming dealing with a lot of stuff that you guys failed to pry much out of him.))

Kathra steps forward and goes through the formalities of introducing her and her companions before getting down to business. "We took it upon ourselves to investigate the rumors of those strange flying fish and other nonsense in the countryside. We found the source - some storm seals which were attracted to what we believe was a localized build-up of magical energy. Fortunately, that was easily solved. There was also some hostile nutter with some golems trying to raise his dead god or something. We killed him."
The small flurry of activity in the room sort of grinds to a halt as Kathra inserts herself into Bhaerny's space and lays out the groups recent exploits. One of the guards who was pinning some new information to the wall stops and listens in, his hand hovering near the spot he was about to mark. Captain Bhaerny seems to take in the information for a few moments, and then closes his eyes, rubbing the bridge of his nose is a rough, meaty finger. "You and your crew did what now?" Looking to the wall with all the pins, he strokes his beard. "Where in our hills did you find the nutter with the metal army? And what's this about some 'magical build-up'?"

Kathra shrugs and nods to Mirabel. "The sorcerer can explain the magic build up thing. Some kind of weird weather anomaly, maybe? It attracted lots of those little storm seal guys. Harmless, really, unless you get them angry."

Peren agrees, we should not speak of the Demigod
"It does not matter to me if we speak to the clan leaders first, but not really looking forward to it"
"Talk first, drink later always seems like a smart way of doing things."
“Kathra, go to your happy place.”
Kathra looks like her happy place has disappeared, but she eventually gives a deep sigh. "Fine, let's got talk to these ********."
((Seems good. So, which dwarves are you headed to first? Will you speak with Bhaerny, the Watch Captain at the gatehouse tower, or try your luck at the Krakhal Clan hold?))
I will leave that up to Kathra
Mirabel coughs politely. "We could always skip the more, uh, traditional dwarves and just talk to the head of the watch. Barmy? Barney? That fellow."

((So what’s the plan? Also, I don’t remember meeting this guy before, does anyone else.))
I don't remember him, but i guess we should go over and talk to him.
Who wants to speak first?

Gavin will cast guidance on Kathra to enhance her dwarven charm, if he can do so without anyone noticing.
((Nobody would notice at this time.))
