The second Cal opens the door, they're hit with a wave of warmth; the kind of warmth that a fire provides on a cold winter night. Which makes sense, considering that's exactly what it is; there's a huge, crackling fireplace in the center of the rightmost wall, and small bunches of tables and log chairs and stools all facing the fire in concentric semi-circles. On the opposite wall are a pair of satyrs busy at work behind two counters. One counter looks like a bar, and the other is the reception desk, where people check in to the inn.
She shoulders her pack and walks over to the reception desk. Still keeping her gruff appearance up, she says "I'd like a room. Please. Preferably one with windows, and I don't mind if there's a draught."
The satyr working the reception desk gives you a bright smile as you approach. A nametag pinned to the breast of his lumberjack-looking flannel reads 'Peotyr.' "Welcome to The Pine Nook! Will it be just you in this room? Or would you like a joint room with the rest of your group?" He points back to Anna and whoever tagged along with Cal to the inn.
Cal looks back to Anna, and sees her panicked expression. "I guess we'll get a joint one. Even though I barely know these weirdos." She mutters this last part under her breath, so that not even Peotyr can hear her. "How much will that be?"

"That would be 2 GP per night. But, I'll give you the blizzard special, cause y'all don't look like you were planning on making this pit stop, so it'll be 1 GP a night, and that comes with breakfast."

Anna is exploring the Inn, going around the tables like a lost child. She secretly steals food of peoples plates, inspects lots of different objects, and marvels at just about everything. Then she sees Cal go to buy a room and starts panicking at the fact that she has zero money.
Sleight of Hand, please!
Grrr, you make me roll for just about everything SoH: 19
Yes, because I don't want you having any fun. Fun isn't allowed here /j
You're able to successfully steal a whole turkey leg, half of an eaten sandwich (there's enough to eat around the part the other person ate from), and a steaming, untouched mug of hot chocolate.
She eats it all, not worrying about eating round the bite in the sandwich and just stuffing it in instead. Food has never tasted so good.
And hot chocolate… Anna is both panicking about her lack of money and in absolute heaven. She’s never drunk anything like it before, she’s both melting and super energetic now. “I need to go to Inns in the future…”

Anna nods. “I’ll… try and work or something. Take care of myself at least.” She’s determined to be able to carry her own wait, you can see it on her face. You can also see the chocolate around her lips from her drink. But you can tell she doesn’t want to be a burden. She takes another sip.

Shank gazes around the town, considering his options. "I'll meet you two at the Inn, I'm gonna check out the store real quick." And he heads off to The House Warehouse.
As Shank walks into The House Warehouse, a big yellow sign greets him. "The House Warehouse: How Homebuilders Build More Homes." It looks like they have everything here; houseplants and gardening equipment (though the outside is closed for the season), lumber, power tools and regular tools, paints, etc. An old half-elf seems to be the only worker here.
He ambles over to the old fellow. "Hi there, me and my friends are new here, and I was wondering if there's anything that might be useful to have while we wait out the snowstorm here."

"Hello!" The old half-elf waves at Shank, squinting at him through kind, round glasses. "The snowstorm? Depends on where you are. I suggest checking into The Pine Nook and bunkering down there. Of course, Peotyr and Pete would love some help, so giving them some hands to help shovel and board up would be a great help to them. Otherwise, hmm... let me see..." He shambles out from behind the counter and into the main hallway, perusing the aisles. "If you're in anything but a solid house, like a tent or a lean-to, get to shelter. But I find that in any situation, it's always good to have a hatchet, a tarp, some blankets, an oil lamp or five, and many different ways to light a fire. What would suit your needs best?"

"We've got small hachets for 5gp, and tinderboxes will run you 5sp each. We don't have much food here, but Denise down at her shop has some light, canned food for you to take if you need it." He shambles around the store, getting the hatchet and leaving you to get the tinderboxes as he's not sure how many you want.

"Thank you, and what was your name?" He grabs two tinderboxes.
"I'm Jack. Nice to meet you. You are?" He takes the two tinderboxes and puts them in a sturdy paper bag with the hatchet, along with a nice leather hatchet sheath as a bonus. "That'll be 6gp."

Anna seems apprehensive but also excited. She wants to go check out the room her and Cal are sharing, but she has no clue where to go.
Peotyr looks at Anna with one eyebrow raised. "Are you okay, miss..?"
She walks over. "Do you know where I might, um, find the rooms? Sorry if that's a stupid question or something."
Peotyr gives her a kind smile. "No such thing as stupid questions. The rooms are just up those stairs. If you look at the key I gave her," He points to the key he gave to Cal, "There's a number and a letter on it. The number stands for the floor, and then you just look on the doors for the room letter." He grabs a piece of paper and writes something on it, then gives it to her. "Here's your room: 2E. Second floor, room E. It should be on your right."
