Normont heads up to the room, but instructs Amber to perch somewhere discreet with a view of the lobby area and anyone who might enter the inn.
Once in the room, he puts his belongings down, instructs Maggie to stand guard by the door such that she blocks it from opening, and then turns to the others.
"I suppose we have options now. The business with the Nameless Ones and the missing grey hunter I think has to be the priority, however intrigued I am by the man who became a table", he says quietly.
"We will hopefully have a reply to the message I sent at Grey Hunt Manor soon, and we have the meeting with Lady de Rolo tomorrow. But what about Glinnick? If they intend to dispose of him soon, we might be able to turn him to our side and get some information out of him. They wouldn't want to dispose of him if he didn't know anything, after all".
"We don't even know who the Nameless Ones took, do we?" Lokilia says. "But the missing hunter should be our priority, yes."
"I do think we should help Glinnick. But how do we convince him to help us?" she asks. "I can't imagine he's just going to believe us that these people are going to turn on him. Or... I don't think he would. Maybe he would?" After having started off confident, she ends a bit uncertainly.
"I mean...," Dev begins, his face half-squinting as he thinks, "Glinnick wouldn't necessarily have to take our word for it. We have the letter right? I mean maybe he can read Undercommon after all his dealings with the Nameless Ones and he'd be able to put two and two together himself. Sometimes... sometimes people get involved in things they wouldn't have if they'd had a choice..." Dev is thinking of all the food and clothes and pocket change he filched as an urchin in the streets of Drynna. He and his parents would have starved if he hadn't. "So even though I'm tempted to think poorly of Glinnick, I just don't know. But it would feel awful to know there is a plan to... to get rid of him... and to do nothing, and then for something terrible to happen to him."
"I have to at least warn him. Somehow. And if we're wrong and the Nameless Ones aren't going to... to get rid of him, or if he ignores us..." Dev stopped to think for a moment before continuing. "...it doesn't matter. I have to at least try. I mean we have to at least try. But I guess, the question is, how?"
Lokilia frowns a bit as Normont confirms they don't even know who was taken. She wonders who it might have been. When Dev speaks up, she nods her head a bit at his words. "I don't disagree with warning Glinnick. We have to get him out of harm's way. Just the idea of getting him on our side, that will be tougher. But even if he's not on our side, we have to help him."
"That's right, we have the letter. We just need to get Glinnick away from the Nameless Ones, which might be easier said than done considering they can disguise themselves and become invisible. They are perhaps keeping tabs on him", he says thoughtfully. "Dev, you have been able to get messages to people before without being heard by others, right? Perhaps you could convince him to meet us somewhere safe".
(lol!, I don’t remember Dev doing that before but maybe he did?? :)
Dev nods, somewhat reserved but in agreement. “I think I can.” Then after a moment’s thought, with unusual calm, he repeats himself. “I can. But… I’m not sure where to speak with him. Unless…”
Dev pauses as an idea comes to him. “We heard a few days ago that Glinnick rents out the apartment over his shop for a high fee. That’s not uncommon knowledge. What if I use my stage makeup (Disguise Kit) to pretend to be someone else. A traveling merchant scouting out a place to stay. I have a costume for that role too. I can have a conversation with Glinnick about it. If I can get him alone, I can hand him a note – an illusion of a note – that warns him of our suspicions. For safety’s sake, I’ll put him to sleep and then retreat.”

"I like the thinking, Dev. But Lokilia is right, walking into his store is like entering a lions den. Now if you were to bump into him away from his store...", Normont muses.
"You suppose they let Glinnick go anywhere without watching him?" Lokilia asks. "You are right though, even passing off a message would work better outside the shop." She gives Dev a smile. "Combined with the disguise that might work out really well."
“I don’t think it’s that dangerous,” Dev says simply. “If they wanted us out of the way, they could already have taken us by surprise. But luring him out of the shop? It’s a great idea but… We have no idea like what motivates him. We’ve never even met him. I think we have to risk like going in. And I don’t mind. It was a risk for me every day of my life going into Drynna. If the mean kids spotted me…,” he trails off, shrugging.
”Can one of you come with me, disguised somehow?”

"I could perhaps fashion a magical disguise given time to recalibrate my tools, but that would mean waiting until morning", Normont replies.
"But just to be clear, they haven't taken us yet, but once they realise what we did in the warehouse that is going to change. That is why we couldn't go home after all, because they will be looking for us. I will trust your instincts, Dev. But perhaps we tell Lady de Rolo what we know first, and maybe leave the items from the warehouse with her. Our meeting is tomorrow, so only a short delay. What do you think?".
(OOC: @DM - what time is the meeting with Cassandra de Rolo? Hoping for first thing :-) )
Lokilia says, "Oh! I could go along with Dev. I'll just transform into an animal. A cat? Maybe a mouse? Or I could try something smaller, like a ladybug or spider."

Dev, who thinks Lokilia's ability to change shapes is simply amazing, smiles widely at this idea. "That would be great. I have a big hat that is part of the disguise because it covers my horns. You could sit on top of my head all covered up?"

"I think it would make sense to do it in the morning, not too early. Like a rich merchant. They don't like to wake up early, do they?" Plus, it would take some time for Dev to organize his makeup and costume. "So that would leave time for your meeting with Cassandra de Rolo first. Or... it really might make sense for us to split up. If we're all together, it will be easier for someone watching at a distance to guess my disguise is a disguise..."

Normont thinks on what Dev and Lokilia have said for a moment, and looks across to their quiet genasi companion.
"Well Quinn would certainly stand out, so I guess it is best he doesn't go in to Glinnick's. I would suggest he stays close though, because if things don't go to plan you will need him", he says, pondering the situation. "I think I will be safe going to see Lady de Rolo alone. I can then meet up with Quinn close by afterwards, maybe after swinging by Grey Hunt Manor".
He looks to Dev and Lokilia, "Remember, the last time we took a look, I saw the duergar and otherworldly creature at the front, the scaled gibbon under the eaves and the cloaked crossbow wielder on the roof. There might be more inside, and they likely aren't going to be what they seem. Nuts and bolts, even Glinnick might not be Glinnick! Just....keep your wits about you".
He obviously has huge concerns for the well-being of his companions.
He still intends to alter his tools to allow him to disguise himself the next day, in case the plan changes or he isn't as safe going to see Lady de Rolo as he thinks.
