Klarron took the paper and read it frowning deeply, " Right.....I'll relay this to those I put in place."
" And stress the dangers of these brain-dogs to those who go beyond the walls today."
" You lot get some rest, make your own preparations.....We'll meet up in the old theatre south of the Sun Tree, where Lord De Rolo killed that patchwork thing two summers back."
Lokilia gives Dev a smile. "I'm sure this is not going to be easy. But I hope you're right that we can this group out of Whitestone." She takes a breath. "But first, rest." She's ready to head back to their lodgings. "Not sure if you need to check on your things Werhann, but probably best we all stick together for the moment."
Normont gives Klarron a final, sharp nod of acknowledgment. "The old theatre. I know it. We'll be there before the shadows get too long".
He turns back to the group, his expression softening just enough to show his concern for his companions. "Lokilia’s right. Safety in numbers is a must after what happened earlier and with invisible eyes potentially watching the street. Werhann, we’ll accompany you to check your gear, then we should head straight to the inn".
He shoulders his pack, feeling the weight of the tasks ahead. "Let’s get off the streets. We’ve done what we can, now we need to look after ourselves for a while. We’ll need every bit of focus once the sun drops".
The companions retired to The Lilac Inn, two additional cots and bedding were provided for the suite at a small extra charge ( 1 gp) and the companions settled in.
( You have enough time for a full Long Rest and a single task ( Shopping, building a small item, repairing something etc.) before meeting up with the Hunters.)
After a deep, necessary sleep, Normont’s first priority is his companion. He spends the remaining time in focused silence, the light of a single candle glinting off the tiny brass components and translucent amber core.
As he channels the infusion, the air in the room seems to hum with a faint static charge. He carefully reconnects the internal linkages, whispering small commands under his breath until the spark of life catches. Watching the construct’s ocular lenses click into focus is the first sign that he is truly ready for the theatre meeting.
"Welcome back, my friend", he says to the homunculus.
However, there is still a little time before the meeting. He doesn't have anything specific planned for his own gear, but he remains alert, staying close to the others. He makes it clear he will accompany anyone else who needs to step out; after what he has seen at Glinnick's and in the woods, he has no intention of letting any member of the party be isolated in the streets of Whitestone.
Werhann will first look for a place where he can clean himself, if possible, from everything he'd been through ever since he was abducted by the squids. Then, Werhann spends most of the time sleeping, letting his body have the proper rest it longed for. No ropes, no covers, no stench - hopefully - and on a full (with goodberry) stomach.
Finally, once he's awake, and only if time permits, Werhann will seek a place where he can test his 'new abilities' without risk of harming others. So far, he hasn't experienced any explosions or other uncontrollable bursts of energy, but he'd rather not find out the wrong way. Therefore, and especially if he can't find a secluded space, Werhann focuses on trying to recreate and testing the limits of what he already experienced. The illusions, creating weapons, even the pain-numbing, cold, armour-like protection.
If Progo or Normont, with which Werhann feels a little more comfortable at the moment, having spoken to a little more than the others, seem like they have nothing better to do, Werhann will ask them to help him in this experimentation. If they agree, he'll also test what he can and cannot do with his newfound telepathy. He won't bother them if they seem busy, however, and won't press if they refuse or seem unwilling.
"I feel like a deck of cards in an honest brigand's cave. They've no one to rob so they've played me and played me until I'm frayed and torn around the edges and anyone can look right through and see my secrets...," Dev groans as the companions reach their suite in the Lilac Inn. "That's a quote from a play I read... I really wanted to be in it...," he trails off into sleep, dozing on the duvan, a half-eaten snack lolling in one hand.
Later, he awakens with a start. "Balaran!" He sits up, rubbing his eyes, his hair flattened on one side of his head. "I have to tell him about Jerry," Dev mumbles with concern. "I'll be back," he announces to anyone else who is there, and he heads directly to Balaran's studio. If the artist is not there, Dev tries to find him in one of his favored plein air painting locales.

Lokilia didn't really have any tasks to take care of once they were back to the Lilac Inn. She had decided to sit for a bit and try to think through what magic she might want to prepare before she fully rests. But then Dev suddenly is calling out 'Balaran'' and rushes out. Not wanting to leave him to go on his own, she jumps up and follows after him. "Not sure any of us should be wandering about on our own," she says as they depart. "Jerry... he was the guy at the place? Gilmore's Glorious Goods?"

" Go now."
( Both Werhann and Normont know the place.)
