Lokilia looks a bit disappointed that Tillimus knows so little about the Nameless Ones. Though perhaps it's good he at least recognized the name of the group. "It turns out that some of these Nameless Ones are here in Whitestone. We've been investigating them a bit. But one of our... friends have been taken by them. We were hoping perhaps you might be able to connect us with some means to locate them. Perhaps some magic or something? We just aren't quite sure where to start looking for them."
She glances at Dev, hoping she wasn't overstepping herself by speaking. She was pretty sure that this had been what Dev was hoping for.
" Here? In Whitestone? Well I never.....trust Emon to export its refuse to our lovely corner of Tal'dorei."
" Kidnapping? I can hardly bear the thought....well, I suppose that would depend on who was kidnapping me and for what purpose....", his mind seemed to wander for a short while but he soon snapped back.
" I mean I have some antique scrolls that may be of use in location.....they are part of a consignment for a long term client but your coin trumps that relationship.......I believe the dweormer within will allow you to find a certain object....I don't know if it works for people as such."
" Ah....but that does explain a few things.....I've had a number of shipments come up short recently....I have written some rather brusque letters to our shipping partners but perhaps these ne'erdowells are to blame."
" Let me think..........there are some smaller warehouses just inside the main gate in the Southern Ward that I usually rent for overflow or as loading stations for southbound goods but they were both already booked when I tried last month but none of our esteemed competitors or other local interests seemed to know who had booked them and the bad tempered old gnome that owns them was most disagreeable about it."
Catching the look from Dev brought a smile to Lokilia's face. She then was more pleased by the information from Tillimus. "Well, I do hope this insight about the Nameless Ones will be a benefit to your operations here. And that's excellent! Perhaps those two small warehouses gives us something to investigate. I know we are owed a favor, but I would hate to put you out with others if it isn't necessary."
At this point she looks to Dev. "Perhaps we should not insist on the use of the scrolls unless absolutely necessary?" She looks at Tillimus. "There is no reason that we might not continue to help each other, right?"
Dev is distracted by the possibilities represented by the antique scrolls Tillimus mentions, and he almost misses the mention of warehouses. When Lokilia suggests saving the use of the scrolls for an absolute necessity, a line forms between Dev's brows, but he understands that Lokilia is being far more diplomatic, thinking more long-ranged, than he would have thought to do, and for the moment bites his tongue, waiting for Tillimus' response. But Dev is ready -- silently, for the moment -- to trade his electrum coin for a means to locate the captive.

" Right.......", he replied uncertainly as his eyes flicked back and forth between them. " You mean you'd like this to be an ongoing business relationship?"
" Well, I'll put the scrolls aside for now and we'll see how this shakes out."
Normont lays the items out, his finger tracing the monogrammed G on the cloak. He then inspects the ring, looking at the inscribed initials. Lastly, he inspects the breastplate, not a mark on it.
To confirm his suspicions, he will ritually cast detect magic.
"It seems my grandfather had an eye for nice things", he mutters, not too Quinn precisely, but he would certainly hear.
(OOC: In my notes, Normont's grandparents are named Darwin and Perdy. I don't have names for his parents. Does he recognise who the initials and the monogram would relate to?)
“I think what my friend means,” Dev breaks in gently but firmly, glancing to Lokilia with an apologetic half-wince before refocusing on Tillimus, “is that we are friends of the Ocicis, to which the token you now hold in your hand speaks, and we think you’ll find us to continue being friends. But also, the scrolls you mentioned might be of great help to us in locating the wrongfully apprehended person we mentioned. And in finding and rescuing them, I think we may also help the Ocicis by discouraging more activity by the Nameless Ones.

Lokilia gives Dev just a brief glance as he again asks about taking the scrolls. There's no animosity, just she wasn't quite on the same page as the tiefling. She returns to address Tillimus. "As my friend says, we are glad to have helped the Ocici's before. And we would be happy to continue that help should situations come up in the future. Or say if you had need of assistance in some matter. I suppose an ongoing business relationship if you want to put it that way."
She again looks at Dev, not really wanting to contradict what he had said about the scrolls. Thus, she stays silent for now to see how he might react. Though she does give Dev a questioning look now, not fully understanding why he is so adamant about getting the scrolls.
He heads over to a bureau drawer and retrieves a polished wooden box which he hands to Dev.
" So we will regard that coin as spent....however I have no objection to a continued sharing of mutually beneficial information. If such is your wish.", his eyes linger on Lokilia
" Are we concluded for the day?", he said pleasantly.
“Thank you,” Dev replies, but, catching Lokilia’s expression, which lacks the satisfaction he had anticipated, and indeed seems perturbed, turns back to Tillimus, not touching the scroll case. “Could we please first have a moment to speak in private? We can leave you in peace in your office while we do. Just a minute?” He motions toward the office door, with the intention of finding a quiet spot just outside the office to huddle with Lokilia. If Tillimus agrees, the tiefling wastes no time and whispers his question with sincere concern. “What’s wrong?”
"The bag was my grandfather's, and he said there might be some things in there he forgot about. I guess these are among those items", Normont replies once the ritual to detect magic has completed.
"I could just turn the bag inside out to see everything, but right now there could be anything in there. Give me an item, and I will check the bag for you. You never know...", he suggests.
Quinn thinks for a while, then says, "Is there anything in there that can help me move a little easier? I find that when we are in a fight, I feel too slow."
"Hm, it doesn't really work like that. I thought about armour and there happened to be a breastplate. The same with the cloak and the ring. You would have to give me an item, like a belt, or boots. Whether that item is then magical would depend on whether my grandfather placed something like that in there", Normont explains.
"In truth I had no idea he was even an adventurer, so I have even less of a clue what he might have stashed".

"Oh my, I wonder how my grandfather got this", Normont exclaims. "Is this the sort of the thing?", he asks Quinn.
"I mean, I would need to ask my grandfather about it before I remove the ring from this finger, just in case there is a good reason it is still on there".
(OOC: DM - Normont has cast detect magic, is any of this stuff magical beyond the breastplate?)

Normont retrieves the following items:-
- a velvet cloak of deep purple with a monogrammed G on the breast.
- a silver ring with green stones the initials L.M. are inscribed on the inside.
- quite difficult to extricate from the narrow mouth of the bag Normont retrieves a gnome sized Breastplate of Gleaming.
Normont lays the items out, his finger tracing the monogrammed G on the cloak. He then inspects the ring, looking at the inscribed initials. Lastly, he inspects the breastplate, not a mark on it.

"Oh, then I would like a gold ring which goes with my style."
Normont reaches into the bag and thinks of a gold ring.

Normont reaches in and removes a gold wedding ring......still on a rather mummified looking human finger.
