Darbakh is wounded badly by the dragon’s breath, but he shakes off the creeping nightmare. As a reaction, he casts absorb elements, taking in a bit of the psychic breath and maintaining resistance until his next turn - which, it turns out (ha ha), starts now.
He casts hunter’s mark using his bonus action, declaring the deep dragon his enemy, and then attacks.

Damage if it hits, boosted with hunter’s mark: 13
Extra damage from absorbs elements, though the deep dragon is resistant to the psychic element and I think this will be reduced: 2

Darbakh slams his maul on the tail of the dragon cause ing it to whip its heads around. 12 hp remaining.
Jetsam first hit glances off but he buckets down and scores a solid hit as the dragon whips its head back around to pulls back for a breath attack. Seeing an opening Jetsam slashes upwards chopping the dragons head off.
End of combat.
Tommy will run over can cast cure wounds on both Jetsam and Darbakh.

The party gathers what treasure they can and heads out the cave entrance. Miles from where they fell in and surfacing just as the sun rises the exhausted party spends most of the day walking to town. Arriving back at the gate just prior to midday.
Ooc: end of the adventure. 8700 XP each and three rolls on the Treasure table.
Darbakh pokes the deep dragon’s head after Jetsam cuts it off. “That’ll do, Jetsam. That’ll do.”
Weary, he grabs as much treasure as he can help carry and doesn’t even check what he grabbed until they’re out of the cave. “You don’t want to set things on fire, Tommy? Seems like you got a good haul.”
