Mei does her best to calm anyone who might think they're cutting. A smile blooms across her face at sight of the first person she met at Strixhaven.
It fades, however, as she adds to Malvyn's request, "It's for something very important. Relating to the, um..." she leans forward to whisper, "the attacks."
((Giving the Help action to Malvyn if needed/possible!))
Mina looks at Malvyn, "It's kind of busy at the moment..." She then hears Mei'srequest, pauses a moment, and turns to a halfling girl that is working at the counter as well. You don't hear the conversation but the other girl gives a nod and Mina turns back with a smile, "Just a moment." She finishes the drink she was making then steps over towards where you are at off to the side.
"Sure, we have archives. The most recent stuff is in the back room at the office. It's all the editions in chronological order. We keep an index too, on paper. It's also by date but is a bit easier to scan if you're just looking for a particular writer or headline." Mina begins. "The rest though all gets sent down to the Scriptoria. That's downstairs in the Biblioplex. It's... well, quite large down there. I think there's a section for the Strixhaven Star amongst the periodicals. Um, but there might be several sections depending on how far back you want to go. I don't really know about an index though."
Mei nods and replies with a smile, "Thank you, Mina. We're looking for any reports of... similar incidents throughout Strixhaven's history. And the Star seemed like our best place to start."
"Are you alright, by the way? After yesterday?" she asks, brows creased with concern. "There's been nothing... froggy today I hope?"
The purple-skinned Tiefling realizes this might have been a bad time but is relieved when Mei comes to his aid, then listening attentively to what Mina says while nodding. He chuckles at the question from the petite oracle. "Froggy things happening might even increase the popularity of this place." He adds with a small smile. "Thanks Mina and sorry again for disturbing you at work, we should get going and leave you to your work. We talked briefly to Mr. Wildemere who suggested I would write sonething about what transpired here yesterday. I might have been less than courteous with him though, should I be worried he will take any grief out in his column?" Malvyn asks quietly with a worried look before leaving. He is otherwise ready to return to Dresar Hall to rest and study a bit for next weeks exam, and maybe write about yesterdays incident before joining the others for dinner at the Bow's End tavern.
Mae has a bit of a spell during rehearsal that day and keeps to herself in her room, playing her music softly but rhythmically, although the occasional odd noise might be heard by anyone near her room, followed by a pause in the music and some words in celestial before the music continued. After a little while though she changed into more casual clothing, a deep cut top of forest green, earth brown pants to complement it, and an aqua blue hair tie holding her hair back in a loose braid.
Mina laughs slightly at Malvyn'squestion. "You never quite know with Grayson. But I doubt you need worry too much unless you've truly upset him. If he feels it is socially important he will write about you. And it's always true. Just... he can be selective if he truly has a vendetta. But yes, write a little story about the frogs. It should be interesting!"
The various roommates make it back to Dresar Hall at various times throughout the later afternoon. It is just now 6:00 and is getting about time to head out if you want to be at the Bow's End Tavern by 6:30. You have not seen Piero since classes ended.
"Thanks Mina, I will do that."The purple-skinned Tiefling says, giving the blonde a quick grateful smile for her resassuring words before leaving the Firejolt Cafe.
Malvyn spends the time back at Dresar Hall in the fourth floor study room, writing the piece on the froggie incident at the cafe, leaving himself out but describing vividly his friends bravery there, planning to submitting the text with Mina tomorrow. He would then try to get the company of his present floor mates as he walks over to the Bow's End tavern, trying to find a table fairly near the stage, then looking around for Aurora in particular, waving her over to the table with a wide smile as he spots her.
Malvynis able to easily find a table right near the stage at this hour, as the Bow's End has only been open for barely 30 minutes. There are only a scattering of groups in the place, and he does not see Aurora at the moment. A waitress comes over, a gold dragonborn that you've not seen before. "Can I get you something?"
It's another five minutes before Aurora arrives. She comes in and takes a quick look around. Seeing the tiefling at a table near the stage she starts to head on over.
Once she was dressed in her fresher outfit, Mae left for the tavern, a little after 6:00, and most definitely took her time getting there, probably not arriving until well after 6:30, keeping a casual lookout for the green haired girl just in case.
"I think I'll have a glass of the Scarlatti please, and a menu. We're still expecting some others so I'll hold off with ordering anything more for now."The purple-skinned Tiefling says with a polite smile to the gold dragonborn waitress.
As Aurora approaches, Malvyn quickly gets up and offers her a seat next to him. "How was rehearsals? Are you having any concerts coming up soon?" He asks curiously as they both are seated again while keeping a look out for those not already there.
In the tavern, Mei lingers awkwardly near the door to the kitchen, rather than the restroom where she'd excused herself to. She glances back at their table and sees Aurora has arrived, then scoots a bit closer to the door in the hopes of getting a peek inside.
As Maemakes her way slowly to the Bow's End, she does not catch sight of any green-haired girl. As she hangs back a bit from the tavern, she does see a green-haired elf, Cadoras. He's briskly walking to the door and slips inside. For Mae:
You do feel an unusual sense of dread as you gaze over at the tavern entrance. You have a feeling you are not going to enjoy yourself much.
Meimakes a brief appearance inside the tavern, joining Malvyn then excusing herself for the restroom. At the kitchen door she sees a bustle of activity. A number of cauldrons are boiling with bubbles, steam lofting up into the air. The aromas are amazing with all kinds of savory flavors being suggested. You glimpse an older dwarf, the chef, directing a student standing over a pot sitting over a flame. "It needs more love!" he shouts, pointing over towards one of the dishes filled with some sort of spices.
A waitress suddenly bursts out the door, coming close to bowling into Mei, but fortunately all is fine. Even stopped, the air genasi's long hair continues to move about as though in a stiff breeze. "Ah! My pardon, you startled me! Is... there something I can help you with?" A moment later, Meicatches sight of Cadoras walking past, looking around the place.
Aurora arrives at the table after Meihad just ducked away. "Rehearsal? Oh, it was fine - good really." She glances about a moment. "Did Mae make it tonight? I was hoping to see how she is doing. She's been acting strange of late. Have you noticed anything Mal?"Malvyn'sdrink had already arrived, but the waitress is near at hand still.
"HO, ha! Sorry, sorry!" Mei stammers as the waitress emerges. "No, no, I'm--there's nothing, I was just, um..." she rises to her tiptoes to get one more peek over the genasi's shoulder, "can I ask if everything is okay back there? Nothing, er, strange happening? Or someone strange?" She settles back onto her feet and winces with a self-aware smile, "Besides me, I mean."
The flash of green hair snags her attention and the butterflies flutter to life again.
"I haven't seen Mae yet but I think she will be joining us, but yes, something seems to be bothering her, I'm really not good at telling what though and it's not like I am a person she would confide in. Come to think of it I'm not sure who she would confide in, she has been quite guarded and reclusive I feel and haven't really seemed that interested in partaking in our gatherings. I'm sure she has her reasons but you are quite possibly the one who knows her best." The purple-skinned Tiefling says with a concerned look. "Perhaps you should simply ask her?"He adds with an encouraging smile, briefly taking the hand of the raven-haired performer to give it a light squeeze.
Malvyn then calls over the waitress for Aurora to order something to drink while waiting for the others. As he does that he notices Cadoras and waves him over to the table, hoping Mei would appreciate him joining them.
Mae stood outside the tavern for a long few moments, just staring at the door and ignorant of anyone else coming and going. The natural glow she normally kept began to fade, her aura dimming some before she finally managed to get herself moving again and walked into the tavern. She found Mal and Aurora sitting together already, pursed her lips a little, and casually made her way over and sat down. "Where is everyone else?" She asked as she pulled up her chair.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hi Mae..."Malvyn says with a bright smile as he spots the radiant Aasimar. "...Mei went to the restroom I think but I'm sure everyone will be here soon. Good you could make it, I've only ordered something to drink and I think Aurora is just about to do the same." He continues, looking between Auroa and Mae to see if he could spot any reason why the raven-haired perormer was concerned about the Aasimar. "Aurora was just telling me you had a good rehearsal." He continues with curious fiery red eyes. "I'm looking forward to hearing you perform together."

(I suppose both both Guardok and Knap could be present at the table although they haven't posted yet :-)
"Oh, I see. Well I there was a note saying we were eating here tonight."She shrugged lightly. "Yes, I think rehearsal today went fine." She paused a a moment, her eyes still having never quite met either of their eyes. "I hope our collaboration goes well too." Despite working there regularly, she found it hard to decide on anything to eat or drink, waiting to see their server when they came back around.
The door to the tavern opens once more and in bursts Guardok. The diminutive Earth Genasi is quite out of breath, and still wearing his first year Strixhaven uniform. He looks around on tip toes, trying to spot his floor mates, and gives them a wave when he does.
"Sorry I'm late, lost track of time", he says as he scoots over. "Everyone good? Did I make it before Mei and Knapp?"
