Myala smiles at Chierhy'spraise of her memorization of the names. As she continues on about her home in Koumba Saleh, she listens closely. In the conversation though she picks out one part, 'lesser nobility', and ponders over it. She nods as the comments continue regarding differences and about differences between their different homes. It gives her pause for a moment as she considers her response. But finally, she decides. "Your Koumba Saleh sounds somewhat similar to my Kuropan Arko. And it is considered absolutely essential to know the names of all those you might meet. Especially for someone in my position. You see, I was a member of the guard company that served the royal family. I have been present for a few receptions with rather large attendance."
She paused, curious as to Chierhy's reaction.
Myala’s revelation causes Chierhy to skip a beat in her poised progress over the bridge to the Biblioplex. Numbers rush through her head, but she manages to keep her voice flat as she replies, “The armed forces in Wagadu total almost 200,000, including 40,000 archers, and not including war rhinoceri or casters… and chief among them are the Royal Leopard Legion, the Ghana’s most steadfast and deadly contingent. The equivalent, I would guess, to your unit?,” her eyes alight on Myala just long enough for an answer. Chierhy’s pulse is racing. Here she now stands, beside a skilled warrior, a royal guard, with almost nobody else nearby, perched precariously over a depthless ravine. Her blood chills and she cannot help herself, her color goes ashen. Oluwole had warned her to keep to groups of people, not to find herself alone, for privilege draws jealousy and jealousy fuels aggressive action.
Her eyes flash to Myala and to Kadyr, and almost imperceptibly, the hand she holds behind her back begins to glow as she traces formulae with one finger and whispers an arcane trigger. But she makes a fist as soon as the glow matures, hiding the glow completely in her fist. Keep talking, you’re overreacting, she tells herself. “Ah…, we are so high above the falls…,”she says, her voice cracking. “So, tell me,”she asks Myala, steadying herself against a railing or lamppost, “as a member of the royal guard, are you to be feared?” She smiles, as if teasing. But if the lion she has poked responds with bared fangs, she will be ready. Kadyr, unaware of the tension in Chierhy, now interrupts:
Kadyr had just listened thus far. The mention of being a member of the royal guard though brought a look of surprise from him. "I have to say, I do not think that is the usual path to Strixhaven University! Although, do your people employ folk that use magic to be their guards? Although, the Ashari I lived with in Zephrah have druidic fighters called skydancers that use elemental magic to defend the area."
"Well, no, we do not normally use magic for defense. I am well trained to use standard weapons,"Myala says. "I have studied magic a bit on my own. And have learned a few spells. I hope to learn more here."
Kadyr nods, "A noble pursuit." He then turns back to Chierhy. "I will try to take your words to heart. Perhaps whatever negative first impression I made with Arinchu can be remedied in time." He shrugs. "But it seems we three at least got off to a good start at least!"
Chierhy smiles demurely, but her eyes are still drawn to Myala, waiting for her response, or seemingly, for her to respond first to Kadyr.

Quentillius is quick to respond to Guardok'ssuggestion of adding music to the next Drama Guild performance. "We are a serious theater," he says, sounding a little indignant. "Not some musical farce. A simple musical interlude perhaps. But so long as I have a say, we will not be doing musicals!" He sounds rather definitive about it.
Rubina laughs, "We're not planning a musical." She looks over at Guardok, "At least, I don't think that was what you were saying!"
After the interaction with Arinchu, Aurora settles back down next to Malvyn. "New fan or old fan? Not really sure," she says. "If she's new to campus then it would have been more than a year ago for her to have heard me. I guess that makes her an old fan?" She laughs, "I guess I'd forgotten about such fans of late. Just paying at the Bow's End people see me more as just another student, I think. I did have a bit of a following before coming here though."
Zanther is still near at hand when Guardok introduces him Shin. "Ohoho! A new Gymnastics Club member! Great to meet you!" the large Fire Genasi says with a great deal of energy. "You are going to love it! We have a bunch of time set aside for all the new folks to learn the different events we do. I think perhaps we could even have time for some extra practices next week too. You'll love it, Shin!"
After telling Aspenthat he would take a bit of honey in his tea, Naevyn had followed his roommate over to the table with the older students. He just watches as Zanther seems to just exude positive energy. "You're almost making me wish I had joined gymnastics," he says jokingly. "I'm already spoken for though with the Silkball Club."Zanther turns on him, a broad smile on his face. "Silkball? Ah, that is a great pasttime as well! No doubt equally as enjoyable and every bit as physically challenging. I also work with the Mage Tower Cheer Squad. You might guess we focus on Mage Tower, but every now and then we get out to support the Silkball teams. Maybe we'll cross paths at some point." He pauses, "I'm Zanther, don't think I caught your name."
"Ah, it's Naevyn," the fairy says.
"Good to meet you Naevyn! Very good,"Zanther replies.
Arinchu seems relieved for a moment when Aspen says there's nothing to apologize for. She doesn't seem to object as the woman loops her arm with hers, though the blush on the Half-Orc's cheeks deepens a bit more.
When the two come up in the line, Bretira confirms that they should indeed come and join her and Dax. "It's fine. We are together here after all." None of the other students seem too concerned about it. The Owlin nods when asked about her choice. "Indeed. I am partial to a vanilla cappuccino, I'm afraid that's about all I ever order in such places." With the loosened hold on Arinchu's arm, she does nothing to move away. "Ah, I usually just drink black tea. I find it calming. What were you going to have? Do you have a favorite?"
The line continues to move and soon Bretira and Daxare at the counter being asked for their orders. Arinchu finds herself continuing to glance down at the weaving that Aspenis working, her light blue cat-like eyes taking in the work. When the next spots open up for them to move forward, the Half-Orc isn't really paying attention.
Watching closely as she was, Myala cannot help but notice a slight reaction from Chiehry at her revelation of her position back home. She is not quite sure how she was taking it, but that there was some reaction was clear. As she mentions the armed forces of her nation, she feels a bit concerned that perhaps her comments were misconstrued. 'If only I would be asked to join such an elite unit one day!' she thinks. The response though she offers is in a steady voice. "Perhaps our nations organize things a little differently," she starts. "I do not think that my Royal Honor Guard unit would be exactly the same as your Royal Leopard Legion. We have the Lion Hunters which may be a similar elite fighting unit that directly serves the King." She pauses, "The Royal Honor Guard directly guards the royal family and residences. We are certainly steadfast and well trained though. I am new to the unit, so I would not count myself amongst the best of that group yet."
She is a little taken aback at the question about being feared. 'Is that it, does she now fear me?' "The purpose of the Royal Honor Guard is to put fear into those that would act against our royal family. Our presence is for protection. And to serve the will of the royal family. We are usually present to maintain order at events hosted in the palace." It was in part a rehearsed response, as they served in public roles and sometimes had to answer such questions. Only the nefarious need fear them, for they were present to provide safety to all who adhered to the rules.
Myala welcomes Kadyr's interruption. She had noticed the tension. After answering him about her meager magic training, she responds to his final comment. "You are right, we do seem to have all gotten off to a good start together." She offers Chierhy a smile, hoping that she might be willing to accept her. She's a bit worried that perhaps her position as a mere soldier places her as a person Chierhy could not be actual friends with. Regardless though, she continues moving along the bridge towards the Biblioplex.
"You're right Chierhy, this is quite a height,"Kadyr says. "But the waterfalls are beautiful. Quite a sight to behold." He still seems totally unaware of any tension going on amongst the women.
The purple-skinned tiefling chuckles to himself at Q's reaction. He was not surprised, although where he came from opera, the grandest of art forms, was as serious as theatre, if not moreso. Opera would demand some musical talent though, although the utter lack of acting talent obviously hadn't kept the red-haired poser from defiling the stage.
"So how do you feel about it? Having fans? Do you miss your following from before Strixhaven?" Malvyn asks the raven-haired musician beside him, realizing they had not really touched on that particular subject yet even though it had almost been a year now. He wanted Aurora to have fans of course, she deserved that with her hauntingly beautiful music. He could still recall clearly the first time he had heard it, how it had moved him, whatever would happen with her career he would always be grateful to her for that.
As more and more students join at the table, the purple-skinned tiefling finds himself leaning back more and more. He believed he had done some real progress with his somewhat lacking social skills since coming to Strixhaven, but trying to split his attention between many discussions going on was quite taxing he had found.
“Vanilla cappuccino suits you.” She says lightly, smile touching her dimple again. Warm. Reliable. And at Arinchu’s answer, Aspen’s ears tilt with interest. "Same with you and black tea, Arinchu." Calm. Comforting.
“I had a berry blend this morning.” She admits softly. “My usual go-to." Her fingers adjust a stem, drawing a blossom snug. "Green tea with dried seasonal berries. Sometimes cherry blossom if I can find some." She hums softly. "I often experiment with blends, refining some for health and healing benefits..." Aspen trails off a bit. A lot of her self study has been around plants, herbs, flora etc. Studying their properties and learning how they might soothe, mend, or restore.
Aspen's tail sways faintly as she continues weaving. “But… it is a café.” The words carry the slightest hint of temptation. “And the mention of caramel mocha has had me tempted for a little treat...” She glances toward the counter menu again. “Though I am curious whether they’d attempt a white chocolate mocha with raspberry. Or a pecan oat latte.” The thought lingers in the air, exploratory.
The line shifts forward. Even if Arinchu doesn’t notice at first, her attention drawn to the bracelet forming in Aspen’s hands, Aspen notices that too. The way blue eyes follow thread and petal. Her tail gives another content sway. And when their turn arrives, Aspen perks naturally and eases them forward to the counter, after Bretira and Dax place their orders first.
“Hello.” She greets warmly, as she always does. “How are you today?” She waits for the answer, even if it’s the casual kind, and nods sincerely in response. “My name's Aspen. Do you happen to be Mina?” She adds gently. “She came recommended by another student.” If the barista confirms or gestures otherwise, Aspen adjusts easily, polite smile all through out. “I'll have a black tea for Arinchu, please. And an herbal tea with honey for Naevyn.” A brief glance over her shoulder toward Naevyn confirms that part. “And for myself…” Her eyes flick to the chalkboard once more. “Out of curiosity, is a white chocolate mocha with a shot of raspberry syrup possible? Or a pecan oat latte?" There’s no urgency in the question. Just interest. She'd get the white chocolate raspberry mocha if it is an option, the pecan oat latte would be the second choice, and if neither are a available, she would be plenty content with a caramel mocha.
While they wait, her tail sways and her fingers continue to braid.
Guardok shakes his head at Quentillius and Rubina, a small, knowing smirk playing on his stony features. "I know we have spoken about songs and music in the theatre before, Q. I still think it can be done without 'lowering the tone,", he says, perfectly mimicking Quentillius’s pinched, nasal delivery on the last three words. Just a little light teasing amongst friends.
"You worry so much about the 'purity' of the stage that you’re going to turn the whole production into a museum exhibit", he adds, his voice warm . "Trust me, a bit of rhythm doesn't make it a farce; it makes it dynamic. Why can't we add a bit of a pulse to our shows rather than just... standing still and looking grand", he finishes, crossing his arms with a friendly shrug.
As his attention turns to Shin and the goblin speaks to those he has been introduced to with a vastly expanded vocabulary, his eyes glaze over ever so slightly. When talk turns back to training though, he shakes off his momentary stupor and throws Shin a wide grin, clapping him on the back lightly in a friendly manner.
"Excellent. You will find it quite...what's the word Mal would use...invigorating. Yes, invigorating. And of course, lectures begin at 9, so being an afternoon person would not suit your studies anyway. I can meet you outside your hall if you like, as part of my run?", he says cheerfully, giving Pinky-toe a wink.
When talk turns to the circus, his smile widens even more.
"Yes I was in the circus, but not just a passing act. I wasn't so much in the circus; I was born to the family that created it and kept it alive. It’s a part of me as much as I am a part of it. The dust of every road we’ve traveled is pressed into my skin, and the rock in my bones has been shaped by the weight of the show. I’m here to figure out how to turn it into a legacy", he says passionately, even though he is really quite young and hasn't exactly got the weight of years under his belt.
Watching closely as she was, Myala cannot help but notice a slight reaction from Chiehry at her revelation of her position back home. She is not quite sure how she was taking it, but that there was some reaction was clear. ‘You are being ridiculous,’ Chierhy thinks to herself, with sudden clarity. ‘This is not Koumba Saleh, in case you have not noticed. No one is interested in your status or wealth. They are interested in what they can learn here. Just like you!’
Chierhy turns away for a moment and releases the arcane energy that she had summoned, which dissipates unseen into a myriad of vanishing fractals. She inhales deeply, seemingly lost in thought but actually counting cubed primes to calm herself. When she turns back, her expression is hard to read, a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes.
“We will be the best of friends, just as Daxle said earlier,” she echoes, eyes holding first Kadyr’s, and then, Myala’s. A mischievous grin tips the corner of her mouth.
“Now. Tell me more about these royal receptions. I want to know what makes for a party in Kuropan Arko.”Her bright smile now shows genuine interest.

"How about this Rose festival? Perhaps that will allow you all to use the stage for any perforances of your liking." Malvyn says to the others at the table. "I believe I overheard Arinchu, the half-orc with the excellent taste in music, mentioning she is a dancer, perhaps she can be encouraged to take the stage too? And who knows what other kinds of talents that could be brought onto the stage, like acrobatics, or a duel of flashing blades" He goes on, hoping to encourage the others to partake in the festival. He himself would be an appreciating audience while making sure there were no incidents, at least no deadly ones.
"Yes indeed, invigorating, very good my friend." He says with a friendly smile to Guardok. He wondered if he himself would make any new aquaintances among these early students, it wasn't like anyone seemed to have the curiosity of a Strixhaven journalist, although the owlin did seem to share his interest for books at least. It was far too early to tell of course who would do what, and these were just a few of the many of students arriving, and it wasn't like he didn't have friends now anyway.
Aurora shrugs a bit at Malvyn's question. "I do not mind having fans. I mean, in general, it's sort of flattering. It has been nice though here at Strixhaven, to have people enjoy my music without the same sort of stardom."
She picks up her drink to sip at it. "I know there are those who struggle with overzealous admirers. I've had that. But it's been my life outside preforming that was most difficult."
Bretira had placed her order right away for her vanilla cappuccino and the attendant at the counter waited still for Daxle's order.
"Green tea with berries, that sounds interesting,"Arinchu replies to Aspen. "Does that have any particular healing properties? Or you just like the flavors? I should have known you would know about plants and herbs and how to make use of them. It must be quite useful to know." As the woman mentions a 'treat', Arinchu encourages her. "You should just get what you would like. It is our first day at Strixhaven. We should celebrate that." She doesn't really look up until the cat-eared woman nudges her forward.
It is a young man that greets Aspenat the counter, and he chuckles to say, "No, I'm not Mina." He turns to his right, calling out to a woman with silvery-grey hair. She is wearing a Silverquill uniform and comes over. "She was asking for you," the young man says to her. Mina looks at Aspen. "Hi, what can I help you with? Do I know you?" She looks Aspenover with an inquisitive look. She takes the order for the black tea and the herbal tea with honey. "Of course we can make white chocolate mocha with raspberry syrup. That's simple. The pecan oat latter is possible too. We can make almost anything here! I presume you want the first one?"
Arinchu smiles as Aspenmakes the order for her. For a moment, her attention shifts to the activity behind the counter. It seems they are busy today, but the attendants at the counter are quickly taking orders and making drinks. If one doesn't know how to make something, they pass it to someone else to put that order together. But for the most part, they all seem to handle each order as it comes.
"Well, it's just that I am so grand when I stand still on the stage,"Quentillius says to Guardok. He sounds completely serious. "My grandeur plus a musical dyamic might just be too much for the audience to withstand!" he adds, the tone finally suggesting a hint of sarcasm. He finally seems to relent. "Perhaps we could consider some music next time. We'll have to see how it fits in of course."
Rubina nods once Quentillius finally seems to be willing to consider the idea. "Well, I would be more than happy to try to coordinate the music, even play if the opportunity presents itself. Just let me know."
When Malvyn mentions the Rose Festival, Rubina replies to that comment as well. "The Rose Stage Festival is not really some sort of talent variety show. It's more of a fun improvised acting event. Those who wish to participate will be randomly given a prompt, get to choose a costume from the items available, then get up on stage to deliver their lines! Those not interested in getting up to deliver lines can participate by helping to handle the props. We'll also be handing out kazoos to people if they just want to provide some music accompaniment. It's all in fun though."
“We will be the best of friends, just as Daxle said earlier,” she echoes, eyes holding first Kadyr’s, and then, Myala’s. A mischievous grin tips the corner of her mouth.
As Kadyr catches Chierhy'slook he smiles. "Yes, the best!" He steps towards the woman, patting her heartily on the shoulder.
Myala had noticed the shift in her demeanor and was elated as she spoke so enthusiastically about friendship. She directly returns Chierhy'slook. "I do hope we will be the best of friends. At the very least we can look out for each other here in our new, temporary home." She can't help but cast a quick look between Kadyr and Chierhy. 'Why had he not been so excited about my friendship?'
The group continued on across the bridge as Myala answers the question about the receptions. "A great deal of them were dull affairs with senior dignitaries, ambassadors or other nobility. Drinks served before. A lavish meal after that. Then music and conversation, with more drinks, at the end. My job of course was to watch and observe." She continues on. "Now and then, there would be celebratory gatherings. Grand balls with elegant dresses, fine music, and dancing. Many more nobles were present, and not just the older heads of houses. Those were quite a thing to get to watch." She leans in, giving Chierhy a conspiratorial grin. "And always interesting to sit back and see the shameless flirting, the shifting alliances of dance partners, and the courtships that developed. I may have had a job to do, but it was very interesting."
Kadyr finds himself lagging just behind the two women, listening to the conversation. "These occasions sound like quite the party. Did you ever dance yourself, Myala? Or... ahem... shamelessly flirt?"Myala turns suddenly to Kadyr, a bit startled at his rather forward comments. "I was a member of the Royal Honor Guard. I would certainly not have abandoned my duty in such a manner!" she says very sternly. Though, she still seems a bit flustered. "And any flirting is not your business!"
Shin looks genuinely happy as Zanther introduces himself. "Loving the club would be a tremendous bonus! Factually speaking, I opted into gymnastics out of need and necessity for my own salutary training rather than an expectation of loving it. Since then, meeting you, Guardok and Arinchu over there who will also be a joining us certainly seems to have increased my perceived probability of our all enjoying it greatly as you opine."
"And speaking of Intramural Gymnastic Club members," the goblin grins. "Is there a chance we might recruit an Air Genasi to join our ranks? In such an eventuality, we could name ourselves 'Earth, Wind and Fire' in reference to Guardok, them and you respectively. Seems a catchy moniker..."
"Seven in the morning then, just outside Cloudblower Hall." Shin attempts to put on a brave face for Guardok, though with his small stature, green skin and beady red eyes, the face everyone perceives seems more bizarre than brave. Pinky-toe on the other hand looks inordinately amused.
The goblin is taken aback as the earth genasi shares his deep familial connection to the circus. "I shall have to add that to my sequence of discrete reasons to admire you then, Guardok, and your family as well, for your dedication to a craft. If availing yourself of a training partner in me may contribute even a scintilla towards your ultimate collective success in such a pursuit, then I shall consider myself honored to have been a tiny part of it."
Shin appears strangely wistful, and in an instant, Pinky-toe stops looking like she is laughing at him and instead grows very still.
I wonder if my family remembers me. Or has even noticed that I am gone. Perhaps not even my own mother.Shin thinks, but does not say aloud.
"Let's hope there will be no overzealous admirers at Strixhaven then." The purple-skinned tiefling says with an empathic smile, briefly taking the raven-haired musician's hand and giving it an affectionate squeeze. He knew what difficulties she was speaking of, or at least he thought he did, but they hadn't spoken about it in some time now he realized, with all the strange goings on perhaps he hadn't given her the attention she deserved, something he would certainly have to remedy.
He listens to Rubina explaining what the Rose festival really is, although he still doesn't fully grasp the concept, it didn't matter much what it was exactly though, his own task would be watching out for any shenanigans that could lead to yet another incident, and hopefully this time they would get a proper lead to those behind it all.
Glancing over at the counter, Malvyn is glad to see Mina stepping in to take care of the first-years. He had to speak to her later too, about covering the Rose Festival for the star.
Daxle orders the extra-large cayenne-chocolate-coffee drink with a whipped foamy cream on top. It comes in a mug almost as big as the gnome's head, and only slightly smaller than his grin as he takes his first sip. It is no surprise that he gets a big dollop of whipped cream on his nose and beard, giving him a comical look (which he clearly doesn't notice or care about!!) He follows Bretria and the others, fully concentrating on not spilling any of the wonderful contents of his big mug.
Chierhy is accustomed to privileged men of all ages who are unaware of the privileges they freely assert, including subtle physical dominance. When Kadyr places his hand on her shoulder, her first impulse is to push it gently aside. Yet, as she has just said, and she now thinks again, she doesn’t know what greetings look like where Kadyr comes from. His arm on her shoulder has a pleasing weight and as long as he withdraws it reasonably quickly, it is fine. The sea peoples of Wagadu have a similar greeting, said to ensure no one falls overboard while saying hello. Still, Chierhy watches Kadyr’s eyes carefully to ensure he’s not simply acting like a cod.
Assuming she finds no trace of indulgence in his expression, she then turns and waits for Kadyr so the three can walk together as Myala answers regarding the receptions. Chierhy chuckles when Myala speaks about flirting and arches an eyebrow only Myala can see, subtly including Kadyr in the “flirt” rubric.
But when Kadyr then surprises her by asking his bold question, Chierhy turns to stand beside Myala once again, mirroring Myala’s indignation with a widening of her eyes meant to communicate mild shock. She’s not shocked, but begins to wonder how much time, if any, Kadyr has actually spent with women during his upbringing in a mountain monastery.
“Kadyr,”she says, diplomatically, “apologize to Myala. I’m sure your curiosity is innocent, but speaking for Koumba Saleh,” her gaze flicks to Myala for confirmation of similar cultural mores, “it is impolite to speak of such things to a person of the opposite gender you have only just met. Or, it is itself flirting. And this is not a harvest festival dance where courtship and flirtation are inherent, is it? Go ahead. I’m sure she will quickly forgive you.” Her remonstration is presented softly and without rancor, but firmly. She’s used to drawing boundaries. It’s her urging to Myala for clemency that she’s less certain of. She doesn’t really know the seriousness of Kadyr’s misstep.
"Ha!" Zanther bellows loudly. "You are a funny one, Shin! But we're missing water in your little plan." He looks over towards order counter when he refers to Arinchu. "I should go say hello. Good to meet you my friend. I will see you at the gymnasium!" He then makes his way over towards the Half-Orc.
As Shin and Guardok talk of early morning sparring, Naevyn listens in. He chuckles briefly. "I hope you two have a wonderful time. I will likely use that time to catch up on my sleep."
As Daxle gets his drink and Bretira hers, they head to the table where everyone seems to be slowly gathering. "That is quite the large beverage!" the Owlin says. "How is it though? Good?" There's a slight chuckling sound in her throat as she sees the whipped cream on his face. "You seem to have, just a bit, there on your face."
Daxle nods an enthusiastic affirmative when asked about the flavor of his drink. "It's AhhMAZing!! The perfect blend of chocolate and dark coffee with a hint of cinnamon and cayenne pepper. I would call this the 'Baby Black Dragon' - a strong mix of fire and sweetness. I bet it would get more attention on the menu!!"
When the owlin points out the whipped cream on his face, he tries to wipe it with his fingers, and then lick his fingers, and then try again. He eventually gets most of the cream, but the poor gnome looks a sticky mess...and perfectly content sitting in a too-large chair with a too-large mug!

“Ah…, we are so high above the falls…,” she says, her voice cracking. “So, tell me,” she asks Myala, steadying herself against a railing or lamppost, “as a member of the royal guard, are you to be feared?” She smiles, as if teasing. But if the lion she has poked responds with bared fangs, she will be ready. Kadyr, unaware of the tension in Chierhy, now interrupts:
Chierhy smiles demurely, but her eyes are still drawn to Myala, waiting for her response, or seemingly, for her to respond first to Kadyr.

Quentillius is quick to respond to Guardok's suggestion of adding music to the next Drama Guild performance.
After telling Aspen that he would take a bit of honey in his tea, Naevyn had followed his roommate over to the table with the older students. He just watches as Zanther seems to just exude positive energy. "You're almost making me wish I had joined gymnastics," he says jokingly. "I'm already spoken for though with the Silkball Club." Zanther turns on him, a broad smile on his face.
Very good," Zanther replies.

The line continues to move and soon Bretira and Dax are at the counter being asked for their orders. Arinchu finds herself continuing to glance down at the weaving that Aspen is working, her light blue cat-like eyes taking in the work.

"You're right Chierhy, this is quite a height," Kadyr says.

While they wait, her tail sways and her fingers continue to braid.
just an unstable unicorn.

I want to know what makes for a party in Kuropan Arko.” Her bright smile now shows genuine interest.

"Green tea with berries, that sounds interesting," Arinchu replies to Aspen.
It is a young man that greets Aspen at the counter, and he chuckles to say, "No, I'm not Mina." He turns to his right, calling out to a woman with silvery-grey hair. She is wearing a Silverquill uniform and comes over. "She was asking for you," the young man says to her. Mina looks at Aspen. "Hi, what can I help you with? Do I know you?" She looks Aspen over with an inquisitive look. She takes the order for the black tea and the herbal tea with honey. "Of course we can make white chocolate mocha with raspberry syrup. That's simple. The pecan oat latter is possible too. We can make almost anything here! I presume you want the first one?"
Arinchu smiles as Aspen makes the order for her. For a moment, her attention shifts to the activity behind the counter. It seems they are busy today, but the attendants at the counter are quickly taking orders and making drinks. If one doesn't know how to make something, they pass it to someone else to put that order together. But for the most part, they all seem to handle each order as it comes.

"Well, it's just that I am so grand when I stand still on the stage," Quentillius says to Guardok.

As Kadyr catches Chierhy's look he smiles. "Yes, the best!" He steps towards the woman, patting her heartily on the shoulder.
Myala had noticed the shift in her demeanor and was elated as she spoke so enthusiastically about friendship. She directly returns Chierhy's look.
Or... ahem... shamelessly flirt?" Myala turns suddenly to Kadyr, a bit startled at his rather forward comments. "I was a member of the Royal Honor Guard. I would certainly not have abandoned my duty in such a manner!" she says very sternly. Though, she still seems a bit flustered. "And any flirting is not your business!"

Perhaps not even my own mother. Shin thinks, but does not say aloud.

“Kadyr,” she says, diplomatically, “apologize to Myala.
