Knapcasts his spell and the Blue Frog tries to resist. (WIS Save: 6-3 = 3, fails) Azure Lightning seems to calm a bit, becoming charmed. It is not attacking Knap, although Cadoras still being held in its teeth.
Malvyn re-directs his blast of energy towards the Red Frog and hits. That frog drops dead to the floor.
(Edited due to DM error on initiative order! Only the Blue Frog, that Knapseems to have somewhat subdued is left.)
(Meiis now up. To be followed by Piero to start Round 4)
(Didn't want to hold us up any longer, so will go ahead with this! I hope that's okay, Oberon!)
As the frog she'd tried so hard to save slumps lifeless to the ground, it's with wide-eyed hurt and tears flung every which way that Mei whirls round on Malvyn. He's fixed with a heart-broken gaze as an array of emotions pass over her face before she manages to tear her eyes away and focus on the last living amphibian. And the friend still held in its toothy grasp.
Mei hobbles over to grip the blue frog's upper and lower lips with her small hands. “Drop him,” she scolds. Surely she's learned something from her grandmother, who can make a charging boar turn tail with just a scathing look. With a grunt and as much leverage as she can manage with an injured leg, the young mage tries to pry its mouth open from around Cadoras’ arm. "Please."
((Round 3 Movement: As much is needed to reach the blue frog Action: She tries to release Cadoras from the grapple. Would that be a contested Athletics check? I figured it's not actually a Grapple since she's not trying to restrain/restrict its movement, etc? Reaction: If the Blue Frog beats her roll, she’ll use Silvery Barbs to impose disadvantage and give herself advantage on the next roll.))
(To resolve trying to pry Cadoras away from the frog it world be just an Athletics check DC 11. There's no roll from the frog, so I'm not sure you trigger the spell.)
Meimanages to pull Cadoras free from the clutches of Azure Lightning. He falls to the floor, glancing up to give her a grateful look.
ROUND 4
"Why are you trying to spare such an obviously hostile creature?"Pierocalls out towards Knapand Mei. He then snatches a thin wooden wand from his belt and casts Minor Illusion. Suddenly, the image of a fairly large cricket - appropriate in proportion to the large size of the frog - appears just in front of the Blue Frog. It seems to draw the frog's attention. It doesn't move for a moment, then suddenly hops forward to jump on the cricket. Of course, the illusion is dispelled by this action, but the frog seems confused for the moment.
(Mae, Guardok, Knap, Malvyn, and Meiare now up - in that order.)
Nearly stumbling over Cadoras as the frog hops past, Mei frowns at their discourteous floormate. “Y-You’re an obviously hostile creature,” she snaps back.
Blinking in red-faced embarrassment at the pettiness of her retort, she huffs and amends, “Because all life is sacred! A-And it’s not their—I think someone did something to them!”
Seeing Magma Coulee fall fills Guardok with a mixture of emotion.
"I am sorry it came to this", he says saluting the body of the frog with his rapier.
He then looks around and sees Azure Lightning still standing, but seemingly not attacking. He readies an icy blast if the frog does look like it will try and attack anyway.
"What's the plan with Azure Lightning?", he asks in the meantime.
Action: ReadyRay of Frost on Azure Lightning if it attempts to attack anyone. To Hit: 17+5=22, Damage: 5 [cold] and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.
(OOC: Going with Guardok didn't see the illusion of the cricket before Azurre Lightning jumped on it, so he thinks it's not attacking)
"Life might be sacred but that doesn't mean it is always helpful or uncorrupted!" Mae spurts in the heat of the moment, just as she was about to let loose another firebolt, but the sudden outburst made her hands a little too shaky and the spell fails to materialize except for a small puff of smoke. "Oops.." She shakes her hand out and sighs.
Knap, with whatever last croaks are left in him [10 mins past since casting speak w/ animals], and even if there were no croaks in him left he would scold the Azure frog so fiercely with his eyebrows that the frog would surely submit.
"How, very dare you! After the crickets, after the glory of the race, we could have had you home any minute and now look at this mess."
The Blue Frog seems to simply ignore Knap and his attempts to be intimidating. With the illusory snack disappearing, it scans about, perhaps for something else to eat.
Knap's croaks are a welcome sound, but they seem to no avail, so Mei moves in front of Cadoras lest the frog truly has gotten a taste for green-haired half-elf.
All life is sacred, she'd said. And what about their lives? What responsibility does she bear in allowing this poor creature to hurt someone else? When, in sparing it from harm, it continues to cause it? What do I do what do I do what do I do!?
Mei summons a card, trusting the deck to guide her. A card painted with the image of a sunrise behind tangled vines and unfurling purple flowers appears in hand. A compromise. She breathes quiet thanks then slaps it to the ground where vines of morning glories burst forth to entangle the frog.
"Can anyone just... bonk him really hard? P-Put him to sleep?" she asks, brow furrowed in concentration. "I'm sorry I can't do it--I can't kill--..." she glances at the others in teary apology. "I'm sorry."
((Round 4 Movement: 10ft in front of Cadoras, between him and the frog. Action: Casts Entangle on Azure, positioning it to not get anyone else in the radius if possible! DC 14 STR save (minus a d4 from Bane, right? And possibly at disadvantage from Malvyn's Hex?) Special: Concentration.))
Piero's spell strikes the frog without any sign, causing it to roll over onto its side, dead. "About time we take care of the problem rather than just debating about these monstrous creatures!"
(Combat is over. And yes, I did miss subtracting the d4 from the STR Save, but it would not have mattered, so I just moved along.)
Seeing the frogs all stop moving finally Mae began to relax, her normal natural glow returns and she pushes her drum back into her bag, but keeps her hand inside to continue running her fingers around the head of the drum, humming softly to herself. After a moment when the adrenaline surge has waned some she begins glancing around quickly, "My goodness! This isn't good! But is anyone hurt?"

ROUND 4
Mae does no more than create a puff of smoke as she joins the banter with Piero and Mei.
Guardok readies himself for action but is just waiting watchfully to see what happens next.
Malvyn's purple beam misses the Blue Frog. (Technically after Knap's turn - but a miss is a miss.)
