Fleeing from the blustery ghost, you hurry away and turn right. The passage dead ends into a smooth gray wall. It does not appear to be stone. It is uniform and monotonous gray without variation.
The ghost has followed you. It stands behind you, halberd at its side, with its arm raised, pointing at you. It opens its mouth apparently speaking. Only rushing wind can be heard. Silence after it stops and closes its mouth.
Starker, to ghost, in common: “can you understand me? If so, please point the sharp part of your weapon towards the ceiling. If not …well, if not then continue as you are, I suppose.”
The ghost stands there, holding his halberd one handed at his side. The pointy end remains upwards. It looks up at the business end of its weapon and back to Starker. It opens its mouth to speak and wind sounds emanate from him. When it is finished speaking, silence.
Starker: “Hmmm. A bit ambiguous. We would like to peacefully co-exist and be of some service. Please be patient as I confirm and calibrate our communication channel. Testing, testing, …. Please point up for yes, down for no. Is two plus two equal to five?”
The ghost looks past Stsrker and points towards your group. Opening its mouth, rushing wind sound is emitted. It closes its mouth and there is silence.
Starker: “This barrier is not stone. It is somehow magical, but I can’t quite make its properties out. Pray hold a few moments while I manipulate the air and the aether to identify the magic.”
While Starker arranges his thoughts and limbs for the ritual, Cyrus gathers a few shards of glass and a compass and places them within Starker’s reach. Starker begins to cause the air and aether to vibrate through anharmonic solitonic wavelet patterns checking the barrier’s resonance physical and thaumaturgic frequencies over the span of time needed to make two cups of tea in succession.
Starker prepares to cast his ritual spell Identify upon the gray wall before you. Cyrus has laid out all of the components that he will require during the process, ready to hand them to his master.
As Starker prepares and executed the identify spell, Kragen walks up to the gray wall and does something rather odd. He opens his mouth and no sound comes out, you barely here a huff come from his gut.
Starker is casting Identify. Kragen is blowing his hot, dwarf breath upon the gray wall. Gneuman and Trolkarl discuss options on using the Minor Illusion. Chadwick is searching about.
Gneuman and Trolkarl are working on crafting illusions to attempt communication with the ghost. Chadwick finds no evidence of a secret passage here. In fact, the gray wall is uniform without variation or seams. Kragen blows his hot breath on the wall with no effect. Hoid watches on with a curious look upon his face as Starker casts his spell. Touching the wall.....he is seemingly pulled through it suddenly! Starker is no longer there. Cyrus SCREECHES!!! over and over while jumping up and down waving his arms about in the space where Starker was.
The ghost raises his arm pointing at where Starker stood and opens its mouth. The sounds of rushing wind comes forth until it closes its mouth. It would be silent, but, Cyrus continues to jump up and down SCREECHING!!!!
Trolkarl, trying to remain calm. Quickly approaches Kragen
Speaking/yelling just loud enough to be heard over the monkey panic Kragen, could you please try to use Sending with Starker? Before we all follow him through, we should know about his condition and safety.
Let’s turn around and take the first right.

Gneuman "Cant Kragen and Chadwick perform some sort of holy ritual or exorcism and send this poltergeist to the afterlife for his permanent rest?"
Starker:”It has not attacked us and seems to be trying to communicate. Perhaps we can hold off on snuffing it out of existence for a little while?”
Starker investigates the smooth gray wall and surroundings, hoping to discover or perceive that it is or that it hides a portal.
Investigation: 19
Perception: 20
Chadwick tries to "help" checking for secret doors, but only manages to annoy Starker.
Investigation 6, perception 12 (accidentally rolled twice but both were 12s)

<casts Identify as a ritual>
Starker prepares to cast his ritual spell Identify upon the gray wall before you. Cyrus has laid out all of the components that he will require during the process, ready to hand them to his master.
Any other actions?
As Starker prepares and executed the identify spell, Kragen walks up to the gray wall and does something rather odd. He opens his mouth and no sound comes out, you barely here a huff come from his gut.
Kragen attempts to blow hot air on the grey wall.
everyone looks puzzled at this odd behavior!
Hoid is, in fact, puzzled.
Starker is casting Identify. Kragen is blowing his hot, dwarf breath upon the gray wall. Gneuman and Trolkarl discuss options on using the Minor Illusion. Chadwick is searching about.
The ghost stands watching.
Anything for Hoid, other than puzzlement?
Gneuman and Trolkarl are working on crafting illusions to attempt communication with the ghost. Chadwick finds no evidence of a secret passage here. Speaking/yelling just loud enough to be heard over the monkey panic
Kragen, could you please try to use Sending with Starker? Before we all follow him through, we should know about his condition and safety.
"Oh shit! Little guy is too squishy to be off on his own like that. Somebody throw a rope after us once I go through."
With that Chadwick dashes up to the wall, takes a deep breath, then touches the wall.
Would it not have made sense to take a rope before touching the wall?
Kragen and Gneuman actions?
And possibly Hoid, depending upon how hard he leaned in on his new dwarf name, Snarky.
Snarks are all Hoid will add for now.
