addressing Yartol. "Fair point Yartol, not sure any of us like our options to this point. It likely makes sense that this creature will not allow us sufficient rest while we are in the vicinity. Would a short rest benefit anyone, via Tyr's Healing Prayers?"
I am fine to continue on, but a short rest is also fine by me if it is needed.
If someone is in true need of more than a breather, it makes little sense to remain in here to me. The traps can be overcome when we are in this present condition. If we press on, they will be the same or a worse challenge for us. But the odds of ambush while inside seem much higher with these honeycombs over our heads rather than the stars.
How we deal with the dragon is a matter we deal with after this bloody tomb is done right.
Starker:”A short rest will avail me naught. If we should encounter a fell foe, I will do what I can with what puissance I posess and then I will run away.”
(( You may achieve a long rest just from the debate about whether to rest or not…🙄 ))
/OOC Well, as Xymox, it would seem to make sense to make the short journey and leave this place to camp safely, rest up, and prepare for what's next. However, as Todd, I'm guessing that "long rest" isn't going to pan out the way we want it to. Leomund's Tiny Hut or not!
"Kragen, let me take the gem from the cupped hands while you carry the one from the box. Your wisdom and willpower is unmatched and should better help you fight off any evil taint it may carry.
I vote for for a long rest rest, but will go with the majority decision. Either way, we set up camp now, or press on. Dithering will get us no where."
Back upstairs and check the eastern door? Perhaps the floor there will have a different colored arcane currents and maybe a spot to place a gem. Again, thinking this will be similar to Xagag’s dungeon and the puzzle there. Understanding what is beyond the next door can perhaps give us a more complete picture of the puzzle.

Looks to the group
Yartol shrugs, “My bow and swords are ready. Waiting will not change that.”

"Shall we attempt a short rest here then, or carry on?", "I am prepared to move on, a short rest does not much benefit my capabilities."
"My spells are nearly depleted. That being said, I'm more than willing to continue on, if that is the consensus. "
Yartol looks around, “This place is seriously creepy.”
Starker:”A short rest will avail me naught. If we should encounter a fell foe, I will do what I can with what puissance I posess and then I will run away.”
"Sounds like we need a longer rest so we can recoup our spells and abilities."

Oh, it will get you somewhere. But, unlikely any place you want to be.
(( BTW it has been 5 days of real time for you all to make this decision. Seriously. ))
Short rest. Move on. Let's go.
A short rest is taken in the mausoleum area. Yartol stands on watch.
(( Perform any short rest recoveries you wish to do. ))
Nothing happens during your time there.
/Plans?

“Agree with Trolkarl, maybe our Bard can work use his technical capabilities to unlock that door.”
