If we can't dispel or render the magic circle inoperable, could we lay a trap for the demon if/when it returns? Anyone have a bear trap, vat of acid, or a few buckets of holy water?
Starker, shrugging:”Well, if something appears in the summoning circle we will deal with it as we did its predecesor. Let us continue to follow the fish’s advice and elevate ourselves. Perhaps our wall and ceiling walkers could scout above and maybe lower a rope for those of us who are more bound by gravity’s strictures.”
Kragen looks to xymox and gestures toward the wall, then turns and walks form the floor to the east wall, walks up and then transitions to the ceiling. Then steps into the cylindricular opening and then head up.

Xymox follows Kragen, but on the opposite side of the cylinder.
Yartol watches Xymox and Kragen walk up up the walls and through the ceiling hole. “That just doesn’t look right,” he says to Chadwick. “I mean, it doesn’t seem as odd to see the drow doing that. But a dwarf? It just doesn’t look right.”
Chadwick gets out his bow and knocks an acid arrow. He looks over at Yartol. "Just in case they run into trouble.
And if you think he looks odd wall walking try and keep a straight face when he's talking to you with those googles on." Chadwick shakes his head and chuckles, but his eyes never leave the two scaling the wall.

Prior to leaving Kragen responds to Chadwick’s request.
”if I had chosen to prepare Guardian of Faith, it may have provided the some level of protection. However I choose to have other spells prepared for our upcoming encounter. One that may work as well is inverting the effects of a Magic Circle? I may be able to contain a summoned fiend within a 10x20’ cylinder, if they do not have magical means to escape.”
The inverted magic circle could be used for containment. It is a 10’ radius that lasts for one hour. That *should* be big enough to contain this magic circle if you have the components to cast it.
Chadwick looks up into an illuminated room above. He can see a high, domed ceiling with a mural of stars in the apex. Xymox and Kragen both depart the shaft,
After watching for a while. Kragen’s face appears looking over the edge. He the walks over the edge and starts walking down the shaft through the ceiling.
Kragen slowly makes his way down the vertical shaft across the ceiling, transitioning to the wall and then floor. You can see Xymox completes this with much more elegance, confidence and panache. The approach the company and report the following.
As you ascend the shaft, an illuminated, large room is revealed. It is a circular chamber 100’ or more across. The shaft opens up into the center of the room. The ceiling is domed, rising 50’ or more above you. Frescoes are painted and cover the ceiling in vivid colors accenting dismal scenes. You see familiar scenes of alien landscapes with what appear to be weird vegetation, reptilian creatures with wings, a dragon with multiple heads obscured by smoke and fog, demons and devils performing acts of evil upon the souls of mortals, signs and sigils of power and all revolve around the central depiction of a collection of stars at the apex of the ceiling. This collection of stars does not look familiar to anyone.
There are eight (EDITED) braziers set equidistant around the opening of the shaft. (EDITED) Each is fashioned of brass and depict a magical creature holding up a bowl: dragon, demon, winged snake, squid like creature, two-headed scorpion, hyena like creature, bipedal collection of crystals and a central sphere with multiple fine filaments surrounding it in a cloud.
Beyond the circle of braziers are four areas set equidistant apart from each other. You see an alchemical workbench covered in vials and alembics among other items, a desk with writing instruments and books scattered about, an altar with a gold disc standing on edge depicting a skull with ruby eyes and garnets cut into the shape of drops of blood surrounding the skull and a bookcase filled with tomes and scrolls.
At the periphery of the room are three spiral staircases that climb upwards. They appear to be carved from the stone of the mountain. Each is decorated with skulls, bones and the visages of demons.
”Xymox uncovered a riddle on one of the tables mentioned which we need the brilliance of our Mage to solve. We have not completed a complete search. Our melodious Bard rightly pointed out that we need to regroup before continuing to explore. I estimate that we have about 60’ from floor to floor” points at this level first and then up through the shaft. “Do we have long enough rope to secure to the level above?”
“Thank you Yartol, extremely helpful. Does anyone have another length of rope we can use. I estimate needing another 20’ of length, 10’ to secure to the floor above which would leave this length about 10’ off the floor. Maybe close enough if we only use 5’ to tie, it will be close.”
Xymox: "We could always walk back up top, then remove our wall-climbing apparel and send them back down for others to use." Never mind. I forgot about attunement. ...stupid slippers.

Starker:”I would suggest we reserve that for future encounters with more puissant foes.”

"Unfortunately my rope is currently on Freya."
Xymox: "I do not have any rope, but I can cast Dimension Door."
Yartol looks at Xymox, “I don’t know if I can get used to walking g sideways on a wall.”
