Let’s put this next to the unopenable vault and move across the bridge.
That is a mischaracterization of the vault.
You have all crossed the bridge thanks to the toll paid by Hoid. The troll slowly descends into the pool, watching you as you all cross to the other side.

You have all crossed the bridge thanks to the toll paid by Hoid. The troll slowly descends into the pool, watching you as you all cross to the other side.
The stream runs on the right side of the bedrock stone path now. Ahead of you is what appears to be the mouth of the cave with soft daylight filtering into the cave through what appears to be a curtain of flowering vines.
The troll continues to observe you. It is mostly submerged. Only the top of its shoulders and head are above water.
You follow the stream to the mouth of the cave. There are ropy vines hanging in a curtain, covering the mouth of the cave. Small, yellow flowers cover the vines and give a sickly sweet aroma to the air here. You can see light filtering through the vines on your approach. Once you get near the vines they begin to writhe and twist, moving clear of the path to allow you to exit the cave. Bright light assaults your eyes and it takes a moment to adjust. Outside of the cave you see a bog. The stream flows through this and off into the low, twisted trees. The sky is cloudy with a blue tint to the clouds. The cave sits on the side of a tall, rocky hill. You can see a path wending its way through the gnarled trees. They all have bent trunks and twisted limbs with grey-green leaves that are thin and frond like hanging from them. The path appears to be dirt and gravel. To each side of the path is peat and boggy ground. Standing water is seen in many places. The air is still. You hear the sound of a strange bird(?) calling a shrill warbling off in the distance.
Starker tosses his orb up and down in his hand, investigating the gravity of the situation. He then bends down and studies the grass. Anything odd, perhaps pointing to our not being in Xagyg’s world anymore?
Growing up near the Silver Marshes Chadwick will try and recall if he recognizes warbling.

He does not. Unsure if it is even a bird.
Behind you the vines close again to obscure the entrance of the cave. The flowers continue to give off their sickly sweet aroma. Ahead of you stretches the bog and a path wending through the gnarled trees.

“If I can cross this bridge, sure. If I cannot cross the bridge, you can keep the knowledge to yourself.”
"Your path is clear before you, Hoid" is all she says.
Let’s put this next to the unopenable vault and move across the bridge.
Confident in the excellentlce of his offering, Starker attempts to cross the bridge

“Your spirit and clarity of mind has won the day Brother, lead on!”
“Hoid, based on what I see of sentient beings, you might be lucky. I think 2/3 of the thinking beings I’ve met would be happier not know their pasts.”
/plans?
I have stated Hoid’s intention to get to the other side of the bridge a few times. That was interrupted by the “troll,” but that is still the plan.

What is on the other side of the bridge?

Let's proceed into the cave, thought it reminds of those those fish with bioluminescence to attract prey.
Why did the party cross the bridge? It was stapled to the chicken.

Does the sun seem right? Right size, color and/or position for the time of day?
Are there any sleestak tracks?
It is cloudy do you cannot see the sun.
No apparent presence of sleestaks.
