Hearing the sudden commotion beyond the secret door, Xymox’s head snaps up. Without hesitation, he slips from the wall and dashes through the threshold, his cloak whispering behind him like trailing smoke.
The moment he lays eyes on Chadwick, locked in the writhing grasp of the Spirits of the Brew, his expression sharpens—somewhere between fury and artful focus.
“Ah. We’ve moved on to haunted drinks now. Of course.”
In a single, fluid motion, he draws both scimitars—Whisperfang and Silken Grin—blades catching the sour light as he closes the distance. He casts his voice like a thrown dagger, rich with power and resonance:
“Hold fast, Chadwick! Even spirits know better than to face a farm boy with a bard at his back!”
With that, he weaves a note of Bardic Inspiration, lacing Chadwick’s resolve with arcane harmony and the certainty that he is not alone.

You can supernaturally inspire others through words, music, or dance. This inspiration is represented by your Bardic Inspiration die, which is a d6.
Using Bardic Inspiration. As a Bonus Action, you can inspire another creature within 60 feet of yourself who can see or hear you. That creature gains one of your Bardic Inspiration dice. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time.
Once within the next hour when the creature fails a D20 Test, the creature can roll the Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to the d20, potentially turning the failure into a success. A Bardic Inspiration die is expended when it’s rolled.
Number of Uses. You can confer a Bardic Inspiration die a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
At Higher Levels. Your Bardic Inspiration die changes when you reach certain Bard levels, as shown in the Bardic Die column of the Bard Features table. The die becomes a d8 at level 5, a d10 at level 10, and a d12 at level 15.
All notice the Chadwick’s blow to the Fermentation Golem seems to have made it unstable. Pressurized steam is hissing violently through its seams and fittings.
Starker’s spell strikes the first golem. It explodes in a shower of acidic foam and shards of splintered barrel staves. Chadwick and Trolkarl fail DC14 DEX saves. Each take 11 acid damage. Xymox gets a 30 with a nat 20 roll!
Starker now retreats.
All within 10’ of that golems is covered in slippery foam, becomes difficult terrain.
Xymox, still perched gracefully along the vertical face of the wall, moves with silent precision—skittering spider-like along the stone opposite the Spirits of the Brew, positioning himself just behind the lumbering bulk of the Fermentation Golem.
Awarkardly points The Scales of Justice at the nasty Spirits of the Brew. "Be gone vile brew, your skunky taste and smell shall nary haunt beer lovers again."
Flame like radiance descends upon the vat containing the foul spirits.
Not yet Xymox's turn. His initiative is 12, Starker is 21. Starker holding action until Xymox moves.
Prior to Kragen's action, the floors flood with slippery, toxic brew. All must make a DC14 DEX save or be Prone. Trolkarl fails. Xymox and Kragen unaffected as they are walking on the walls.
Kragen's spell fills the vat with Radiant energy. There is no apparent effect upon the Spirits of the Brew restraining Chadwick.
Starker moves to get line of sight on Fermentation Golem, says “perhaps an experiment with a Cantrip” and casts Fire Bolt at the Fermentation Golem and then retreats around corner.
Fire Bolt to hit 9 (didn’t roll with advantage as I am not sure I get that. If I do 2nd to hit is a natural 20, so 27 total)
fire damage = 14 ( 7 if miss) (potent cantrip means I do half damage even on a miss).
"Thank you Xymox you have me the extra umpf I needed to break free of the foul fermentation! Ugh, It got in my mouth and hair" (he whines while trying to spit it out).
Then glaring at it he spins around attacking the spirit of the brew three times.
Attack 1 - Uses Channel Divinity (free action) for vow of enmity. 24 to hit, 9+4 (HM) +6 (lighting damage) 19
Attack 2 - 24 to hit, dam 12+6(HM) 18
Attack 3 (pole strike) 17 to hit, 8+1(HM) 9
46 total damage.
Movement-If he can move to the purple X without provoking and AoO he'll do so.
Hoid's attacks land, but still seem to be less effective than expected.
Starker's Fire Bolt misses. It is at Disadvantage due to the golem being Prone and Starker being at distance to it.
Chadwick breaks free of the spectral arms binding him and delivers several blows that seem to pass through the ghostly limbs unimpeded. At the end of his turn, they fade away back into the vat. Only to reform in another vat and seek to grapple Trolkarl. DC15 STR check = 12. Trolkarl is now Grappled by the Spirits of the Brew!
The golem's pressure then releases. All within 10' must make a DC14 DEX save. Chadwick is the only to fail and is blinded. The golem stands and performs a Barrel Roll through Hoid and Chadwick. DC14 STR checks. Chadwick fails, Hoid succeeds. Chadwick takes 6 bludgeoning damage and is now also Prone.

Too late, "Storker"! Sorry!
Miss
Starker’s spell strikes the first golem. It explodes in a shower of acidic foam and shards of splintered barrel staves. Chadwick and Trolkarl fail DC14 DEX saves. Each take 11 acid damage. Xymox gets a 30 with a nat 20 roll!

All within 10’ of that golems is covered in slippery foam, becomes difficult terrain.
New initiatives for Starker and Xymox.
Starker to act.
Starker holds his action at least until Xymox acts.
“My new bardic acquaintance, please move.”
Xymox, still perched gracefully along the vertical face of the wall, moves with silent precision—skittering spider-like along the stone opposite the Spirits of the Brew, positioning himself just behind the lumbering bulk of the Fermentation Golem.
First attack with Scimitar: 9, miss.
Second attack: 16. Probably a miss.
Assuming it's Kragen on the Walls turn.
Awarkardly points The Scales of Justice at the nasty Spirits of the Brew. "Be gone vile brew, your skunky taste and smell shall nary haunt beer lovers again."
Flame like radiance descends upon the vat containing the foul spirits.
Sacred Flame 7+5 = 12 Radiant Dam Dex 14 sav

Trolkarl, now Prone, to act.
Movement: 15' to stand from prone
Action: Attack with Darkbane
Finishing move: Assuming this is difficult terrain w the slipprey brew . Trolkarl will spend 10' to move SW to open a gap for Hoid.
Drop maul, draw greatsword, move 5’ and attack the golem. Missed twice
(( Finished rolls for Xymox, at Advantage. ))
out of three attacks, 2 hit for a total of 13 damage.
Chadwick to act. Currently Restrained
DC15 STR check to break free
Did you use advantage due to him being prone?

fire damage = 14 ( 7 if miss) (potent cantrip means I do half damage even on a miss).
If advantaged then dam = 21
No, I missed prone. Rolled 15 and 14 (accidentally rolled a third time) to make up for prone
13 and 15 damage if either is a hit.
Str check 17 =14+3 for bardic inspiration.
"Thank you Xymox you have me the extra umpf I needed to break free of the foul fermentation! Ugh, It got in my mouth and hair" (he whines while trying to spit it out).
