"Good work lad! I'll be honest, this sort of place isn't my... forte." He nervously looks back at Idunna, not having mustered up enough nerves at this point to have approached her.
"Let old Pict know when you're ready to be movin' on, and I'll be here waitin' for ye."
You leave the Sinful Blossom, having got what you came for.
The Nyits Bazaar is a large plaza dotted with merchant tents, arranged in circles. Outer circles are the shakier-looking tents which are clearly temporary - they mostly sell food. Further in, the tents become sturdier and richer-looking, housing established merchants and craftsmen. These sell utilities, items for travel and daily graft, fabric and simple cloths - most of the townsfolk shop here. Further yet, there are blacksmith and such, selling weaponry, armor occasion. You actually decide to look around these ones.
As simply listing items can be quite a task, I've decided that shops will function differently. Open you character sheet, press "manage equipment" and look around there. Pick weapons or armor of rare (or lesser) quality and post them here, I'll tell you what will it cost. Wondrous items and potions can be purchased in Brennans shop a bit later.
Thousand Trifles is actually not a tent, but a full-fledged shop, with showcases and such, filled to the brim with wondrous items of any kind, rows and rows of potion bottles (all unmarked, strangely). There's an entire section of the shop with different ingredients for potioncraft.
Nature or Arcana (at your discretion) check to try and recognize some of them, DC is 10.
As you enter, you are greeted by shops owner - a bald, dark-bearded middle-aged man. His arms are covered in tattoos, as revealed by a leather vest he is wearing. Pictures are mostly of flowers and dragons.
Perception check to look closer. DC is 10. Arcana check to see if you know about them. If perception fails, Arcana doesn't count. And yes, this time you can make all checks that you want to make.
Frankly, he looks too common to be a wizard - he mostly resembles a thug from the dark alley, but here you all are.
"Welcome to 'Thousand trifles'", he says plainly. "How can I help you?"

Violetlooks around in awe of all these mysterious items. She takes out her book and unless disturbed starts she murmurs her incantation and seemingly compares the displayed items against notes insisde the book. Then she notices Brennan and his many tattoos. "Hello, nice to meet you. What is all that stuff you offer?"
Nature check for item: 21 + Guidance 4

Pict is intrigued by this shop, as well as its owner, and takes a moment to contemplate everything around him.
Nature: 10
Perception: 9
Arcana:9
He then examines the shopkeeper, seeing his plain appearance, but takes him for what he is. After all, very few would expect a man of Pict's age to be magical in nature, but here he was.
As he looks around, he does notice Violet consulting and muttering to her book again, and frowns somewhat. Just what sort of book is that, anyway? He thought, and resolved to ask her about it later when they weren't in public.
About silverwater - the magic wore off some time ago, but with high enough deception rolls you can sell it to a merchant. Not to Brennan though, magic items and potions are his specialty, he'll know it's true worth. When out, however, you can try and sell it for 5, 10, 15 GP depending on how well deception check goes (DCs are 5, 10, 15). But you'll need to make something up, create an actual deception, not just naked roll. Get creative ;)
Those who pass first Nature check notice several dangerous ingredients - poppy milk, deadly nightshade, aconite.
Forgot to add, Arcana check is 15, not 10.
Those who pass perception check notice there's an intricate pattern in the markings. Lines of different figures collide and cross, creating a drastically different design.
Violet can recognize these patterns, albeit vaguely. The are the similar to arcane tattoos or Red Wizards of Thay, used to bolster concentration and control over mystical energies. Similar, but not the same. Voices that have been quiet for some time note that the design has been changed, potentially improved. Besides, Red Wizards mark their heards, not arms. And they don't hide their markings, but wear them as one would a medal.
"What I offer, young witch, is a solution to many problems for a reasonable price," Brennan answered Violet. "You are curious bunch. Anything in particular you're looking for? I have items here from all across the continent. Some of them I created, like this Broom of Flying, others have more colorful history. Take this Hat of Disguise, for example. It used to belong to Puppeteer, the most infamous charlatan of Waterdeep."
Brennan seemed to gain enthusiasm as he went ahead.
"But the true pride of my little shop are my potions," he gestured to the rows of dark, unmarked bottles. "I've got cures for most ills, I got decoct that will make you intangible or invisible, help you fly or even make you as strong as the giant. That one is the priciest, and the trickiest to make, but I've seen men lift and throw 2000 lbs. log."
Pictspeaks up, stepping forward and bringing out the amulet from under his shirt.
"Perhaps ye'd be able to provide me with somethin' of an appraisal, then? This item here is worth quite a bit to me and I'd like to know if ye can tell me more about its nature.."
If prompted, he will cautiously hand over the amulet to Brennan so he can take a closer look.
"I very well may," the mage answers, extending his palm and taking the amulet. He covers it with his other hand and closes eyes briefly, trying to scry it. "My, that's a fine curse you have there. This is something I might be able to help with, given some time. Sadly, my charity is at an end."
He put the amulet back on the counter.
"I make you a deal. Tackle the little problem I have and in the meantime, I will find out what I can about the magic from your trinket. Before that, however, you must tell me how you know about me. And don't try to lie."

"There's a certain guard lieutenant that has been hounding me," necromancer begins. "And also a few others, but that's just rumors. He's been showing up rather often, look for inconsistencies in my books, asking my clients awkward questions and such. He always goes away with nothing, of course."
Brennan made a face of a wounded innocence and continued.
"But his pestering has been bad for business. Besides, I'm awfully interested in what he tries find, why and who's to gain from this. I was thinking about ending a problem... radically," he got careful at the last moment. "But I'm afraid that will accomplish precisely nothing, he will just be replaced. His name is Lieutenant Jarvy, he's a brat of one of the local minor nobles. Before his meddling with affairs of magi I have never even heard of him. I have heard about his captain, however. Captain Lue, his some war here from the East. I think he even was a general in one of their campaigns, but then again, it's just hearsay."
Crassus jerked his head when he recognized this name.
He's one of those who got Crassuses company killed. From what dragonborn can remember, General Lue was a scheming SOB, but a great tactician and in his younger days, a renowned warrior. DM me is you think there's more you should know.
"So what I want you to do, is find out as much as you can about what's going on and I'm suddenly one guards shit list. Also, how much do they know and to what end. And before all that you will tell me what I asked - how did you know to come to me!?"
I have also noticed our Ranger has left the group - so nice of him to notify me about that. I can't be bothered to write his exit right now, but I will soon enough, for now we can all just pretend he's furniture.
NB! I will be absent again from July 25th to 29th. Today and tomorrow is still game day, we'll see if we can move the plot to another discuss-what-to-do-next point by that time. In any event, we'll pick up where we left off on Sunday.
Pict shrugged. He had no reason to protect whatever the creature from the forest was, and in all likelihood, he would be happy to see the corrupting influence gone if Brennan saw fit. At the same time, he didn't trust Brennan, or his link to necromancy.
"'Twas a creature, wearing the guise of a dryad, from the Witchwood that told us of you, and that your expertise might be of assistance."
"Ah," the wizard is suddenly at ease. "I see. I told her that illusion of hers fools no one, but she wouldn't listen. So, you've met the Green Hag of Witchwood... And lived to tell the tale. Well, that means you should be more than capable of solving my little problem.
"I guess we can deal with your problem if it helps my friend."Violetwanders around in his shop looking at things and studying them intensly. "That broom is certainly nice and that hat great for deception, but my problem is that people don't believe me. Do you have a robe or a staff that would add more authority to my words?"
While waiting for Brennan to answer, she continues her chatter "That Green Hags disguise wasn't actually bad, it just wouldn't hold up to the scrutiny of the eyes of a wizard. While we are in the subject, say, can you tell me more about your tattoos, they are quite fascinating being similar to Thayan design yet different."

Yeah, Violet will look around at the market but she isn't searching for anything in particular
Crassus definitely isn't looking to buy anything.
