I was thinking of having Cal try something crazy with those two, a twinned suggestion. Sometging to the effect of like "They cant pay you, we can" **switch sides and fight along us during this battle** and you'll be rich." If you're cool with it.
I'm also okay just duking it out too. That's always an option. The best CC is the dead condition, after all.
I think it sounds like a really cool idea. There's a 1 in 6 chance they both succeed and it's for nothing, but with a nearly 50% chance at least one of them fails, which kind of solves your problem already. Then, in 1 of 3 cases they would even both join and help us tremendously with the entire enterprise.
Now’s the time to pull out all the stops so I say go for it! As a side note, what happened to the guards that joined us? Are they on the battlefield and I’ve missed them or are we assuming they’re guarding the camp?

As long as somebody tells me what the result is before I start trying to stab them!
Can we see if the suggestion takes befoe Haj tries mudering them?

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Yes attack whichever of these two sellswords that rejects Cal's fine offer.
