Sly looked around and decided to tried to be stealthy as he walks over to a window to get a better look. The tiefling just wanted to make sure that nothing dangerous was going to be in there waiting for someone to knock on the door and attack them while they weren't on guard. Being in a group was different and strange to the rouge who hasn't had much company since he was younger it was kind of nice.
Sly slides over to the window and at first it appears to be too dark to see inside, which he isn't accustomed to, but then realization dawns as the wood grain becomes plain. There are boards over the windows on the inside. With some maneuvering Sly finds a hole in the wood where a knot once was. It's difficult to see inside through such a small opening, but the outline of a humanoid can be seen slumped next to a dresser. The position doesn't look intentional and the figure isn't moving.
Sly moved a bit from the window and looked over at his party and waved them over. "You might want to come over I think I might have found Kristoff." The rouge says to them looking back at the hole he really couldn't tell if it was him or if the thing was even alive any more. "And the window's are boarded up on the inside he must have been paranoid."
Jodon uses Message to ask Sly "Since you called and nobody answered, I assume he is unconscious, or worse. Does he appear in trouble? If you think a brief answer, I shall hear it and tell the others."
Sly jumped a bit and looked around confused before calming a bit when he recognized the voice of Jodon he wasn't use to someone talking to him in his head it was strange and also very interesting. " I.. This is a strange feeling and I can't tell he's just slumped next to a dresser not moving."
Jodon uses Message to contact Sly once more. "I apologize; I should not have intruded on your thoughts without warning. Dathyra believes we are not alone here, and I trust her perceptions after the bar, so please, be careful up there. I will relay your information to the others."
"I am talking with Sly - yes, I can speak mind-to-mind over short distances, and no, I do not know how - and he says somebody is slumped next to a dresser, unmoving. Dathyra feels we are not alone, so somebody else may still be here. Sly cannot tell if the person is alive or dead, so I vote we move up there and see if we can render aid, if the poor creature is not beyond it."
"If they are still alive, I can possibly help, but I won't know for sure until I can see the damages," she said, her brow creasing with concern.
She was still wary of the movement she had seen from the window. There was somebody, or something, still alive in there. She just had that feeling in the pit of her stomach. Dathyra didn't know what it was about Jodon's words earlier, but it did give her a surge of confidence. She took another look around the area, searching for any other signs of someone's presence, and listening carefully.
The yard stands eerily quiet. Sliding to the left where the flagstone path wraps to get a view of the previously unseen side is an interesting scene, however. The path parallels the building for about 40 feet before ending at a side entrance between some shrubbery. The door stands slightly open and a small pool of blood is there on the yard with drag marks leading towards the door. Whatever happened here did not end well.
Dathyra's stomach turned a little at the sight of the blood. There was no doubt about it: some kind of a struggle had happened here. She turned back to the group. "There's a side entrance just around here, and the door's already open. It may not draw as much attention as the front door, but...it's not pretty. If that person is still alive in there, it's just barely."

Holg, sensing that something unpleasant is waiting for them inside, draws his rapier from his side and moves toward the side entrance. "Prepare yourselves. Something tells me we have an uninvited guest in the house." As he maneuvers toward the door, Holg's training kicks in as he instinctively positions himself along the wall right next to the door. He nods over to the rest of the group to follow suite as he prepares to breach the cracked door.
Heart racing, Dathyra stood alongside the wall beside Holg and Jodon. She pulled out her mace, knowing there was a distinct possibility that this would be the first time she would have to use it. Father Uridan made sure she left the temple with at least some means of protection. When he first gave her the weapon, she had laughed, thinking he was being a tad overprotective of her, but now she knew his concern had been well-placed. She waited quietly, preparing for Holg's next move.

Pushing inside, you are greeted with a truly grisly scene. This room is a kitchen and stench of rot fills your nostrils immediately. An open archway leads right from this entry point about ten feet inside the door, inside which stands a decaying humanoid. Its eyes are dull and its jaw hangs slack. Upon seeing you, it lets out a noise that can only be described as a moan and lurches towards Holg. Another archway leads out of this room diagonally across the room from where you are now, beside which a set of counters makes a U around the perimeter of that side of the room. In the middle of the U a man holds a needle and thread that is attached to a dead man laid out on the counter. He looks surprised that anyone else is here and he drops the needle and yells at Holg, "Who are you!? You shouldn't be here and now you'll die where you stand!"
I'll post a battlemat scene shortly to give a better perspective. I need everyone to roll initiative and then I will post the order of combat.

Dathyra couldn't see everything that transpired, but she could hear the horrid sounds coming from within. She had always heard frightening stories about the undead and the unholy devotees who relished in such practices, but she had had the fortune to never witness them firsthand. That was about to change. She readied herself to cover Holg.

Hearing the noise the teifling's tail thrashed a bit as he heard the sound of some kind of monster and pulled out his short bow and tried to ready himself. He was trying to calm himself as he looked over at elf. "If we stay together and fight as one everything will be fine." He said to her trying to comfort her.
Jodon nods to Dathyra. "You proved back at the tavern you see things others miss. Trust yourself. I do."

"All the more reason to hurry," says Jodon. He takes a step towards the side entrance, and stops. "Unless somebody has a plan on how best to proceed?"

Jodon looks appreciatively at the big man. "I know you thought I overreacted in the bar, but this time, your veteran leadership might be needed."
