After the short exchange with Rat, Nean is rather quiet. While hes giving his best to appear untouched by the sudden departure, hes actually quite tense. Nevertheless, he cant help but admire the landscape. As a kid of the slums, he never got to see as many plants in one place. Filled with amazement, he somewhat skips out on most of the conversation that is going on around him.
Ospos looks at Frank and rationalizes the oddness, "I've seen weirder things in Solacus. Look, if you three want to stay back and be bait, that's your choice." Looking at the group, he tries to get them back on task, "Hey look, all this open space is giving me goosebumps. Lets get to the mine, yeah? And get this over with. There's a hoard with our name all over it."
Ospos returns his attention to driving the cart, and watching about for dangers, but the landscape is too alien for his city upbringing and he doesn't really even know what to look for.
Rat still seems a little confused, but his disbelief fades to his usual unease as everyone else seems to take the newcomer in stride. As the journey continues, the terrain grows more wild. The path becomes more of a trail, which winds between large rocks and more densely wooded ares. Between the trees, the Sunridge grows in the distance. The stout, broad mountains are blanketed in green, but as the sun begins to set, the forests turn golden in the light. You begin to understand how the range got it's name. After another couple hours of travel, the dimming light grows even darker as trees close in overhead. "Uhm... we should probably make camp now." says Rat, stopping abruptly
"I- uhm.... well it's... it's dark. And... I mean, we've made good progress today. We should rest, and set off again in the morning. Is... is that okay?" he says shakily. Though he's used to doing exactly this sort of thing, it seems that being questioned on his knowledge makes him unsure of himself.
Ospos stands up off the cart's seat, rubbing his lower back and upper legs, and says, "My sore arse says stopping for the night is definitely okay. So, do we have to do the watch thing?"
Nean gives him a warm smile. "Oh dont worry. This is your metier and we will follow your lead." Before dropping his equipment, however, he will look around to see if he spots anything that may seem dangerous to him.
Nean: The first watch goes by uneventfully. The sound of your sleeping companions mingles with the sound of insects, and the occasional sound of some animal scuffling in the woods.
Clermar: You spend your watch peacefully as well, enjoying the natural surroundings. As your watch draws to a close and you go to wake up Rat for the third watch, you hear the slightest hint of a whisper off in the forest behind you.
Frank looks back the way everyone has come, looking for Bram and Franz,
"Looks like they may have already stopped for the night."
Unconcerned, Frank turns back and starts to set up his bed roll for the night. He sets up a little way away from everyone, tucked up next to a boulder, shrub or tree (whatever is most appropriate). He then settles down for the night and is asleep within minutes.
(In case anyone checks on Frank while he sleeps, you would see him transform occasionally back and forth between Bram, a human you could assume is Franz and a grey skinned creature you may not be familiar with, a Changeling.)
"Name's Dril nice to meet ya! Awful nice of you to not assume equal wages on unequal work but we could have bartered and split two more deposits and reward. Oh well, next time.I'll feel more at ease knowing we have a small company tailing us.
...
This seems a perfect place for rest! I would happily volunteer for the last guard shift. Dawn is my favorite time of day, who knows what could happen?"
Feeling at ease behind him, Dril would have ritual cast Alarm 30ft ahead on the path they are travelling (ooc if too late, disregard), before bunkering down and flipping through a few pages in his spellbook.
Nean: (retconning a bit since you rolled a nat 20 lol) While you sit awake in the night, your eye happens to fall on Frank, at the very edge of the light cast by your campfire. He seems to be tossing and turning a lot as he sleeps. Your head turns as an owl hoots in the distance. When your glance shifts back, you immediately do a double take. In Frank's place, there is a grey skinned humanoid, with smooth indistinct features. You watch in bewilderment for a few moments as the features grow and shift, back into Bram.
Dril: (Are you doing this before everyone goes to sleep? Or before your guard shift? If the former, then you would wake up during Clermar's shift. Otherwise you'll have to wait to see how his shift resolves)
(sorry guys, i didnt mean to skip any campfire part, nean simply meant to volunteer for the first watch with that. and yeah no idea whats happening with those rolls.)
As Nean turns and witnesses Brams figure change appearances, he first darts up, nearly summoning his knifes, but cools down just as fast . He's seen someweird things before. Neans surely quite confused about it, but since hes not sure what to make of it and the process doesnt appear to be dangerous, he decided not to wake up Bram. He will instead stay awake thinking of how to approach his companion about the rather strange topic.
(All good, I jumped the gun a bit instead of waiting for more folks to say how they wanted to prepare for bed. Just to clarify, right now, Nean's watch has passed after witnessing Frank/Bram's transformation. It is now Clermar's watch, in the middle of the night. He has heard a voice in the woods nearby. Dril may or may not also be awake, depending on if he set up his Alarm beforehand or if he was saying to do it later. Liafial would still be in a trance at this point.)
Dril would have cast ritual before bedding down for the night, hoping for the spell to wear off near the end of his morning watch, upon awakening his companions. This would be the 20ft cube centered at the end of the spells range (30ft) along the trail ahead. Liafel cast alarm on himself.
Clermar: Rat bolts up as soon as you touch him, unsurprisingly a light sleeper. He looks concerned and nods silently, moving to grab his bow and notch an arrow. Blade drawn, you walk towards the voice you heard. (give me a perception check please. you can also give me a stealth check if you'd like, at disadvantage because of your armor)
Nodrus had already awoken earlier than the rest of the group. Sitting on top of one of the large rocks nearby where they had set up camp, he would look behind him whilst the rest awoke, and after everybody had awoken well and safely, he turned back around, looking forward at the road ahead.

After making camp, Clermar lays out his bedroll but just kinda props himself up against the cart with his armor on to fall asleep.
