Huddled against the wall of the tunnel, shaking, with the group, Dril balls up some dirty rag he's held onto with a piece of fur, then begins kneading it like dough. Within the minute he reveals the image of a golden retriever puppy, calming him immensely. Releasing a long, quiet, sigh "Pssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......... Whatcha see down there?"
Clermar puts away his sword and takes out his longbow, knocking an arrow. He draws it back and aims the bow as he rounds the corner. He fires an arrow at the closest kobold, he gets a look at the room before darting back around the corner.
Clermar: Advancing as most of your companions retreat, you fire an arrow at the armored kobold who's just made it back into the large room. The shot is wide, and you hear the other kobolds shout in alarm as the projectile flies towards them before snapping against the rocky floor. Your target whips around and roars at you ferociously, holding its ground and looking ready to launch another spear before you dart back around the corner.
You all hear a loud crack, like a hard object slamming into concrete at high speed. This is followed by another two bangs, seconds apart. They cease, though the noise echoes throughout the cavern and tunnels.
While everyone else concerns themselves with the coming fight, Frank darts further back out of view.
30 seconds or so later, Bram comes charging back up the tunnel to the group.
"What's going on?! Frank just run past Franz and I muttering something about a dragon!"
Hearing the loud crack sounds, booming from ahead, Bram get a serious look, preparing for a dangerous fight.
"Right, dragon it is then. Should we retreat to the workshop room behind us? Hmm, if it is a dragon, the tighter spaces in here could be to our advantage..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ospos takes some deep breaths and thinks, "Ok ok! This tunnel can't be large enough for a dragon. And if it does try to come in, it will be unable to move much, an easy target. The situation is under control here, now."
Seeing Clermar rushing to fight, Ospos gives up the pretense of stealth and asks loudly, "Clermar, what did you see!? Is the dragon still there? What made that sound?"
Perception check... Did the banging come from in front or from behind: 2
"It might not be able to follow us, but whatever nasty breath it has will, It's risky to stay in one place". Nodrus responds to the rest of the group frantically making decisions, whilst holding his axe differently to not make a screeching sound again.
"'Bout half a dozen little guys, one in robes, others armored. There is a dragon there, but it doesn't look too big, for a dragon anyway. I don't know what made the sound, I'll check."
Clermar repeats the maneuver of popping out and then back to see what is going on. Instead of firing this time he will dodge to avoid any kobold projectiles waiting for him.
Clermar: This time as you pop around, there are two armored kobolds waiting right near the entrance. They roar as you come into view, and a volley is launched towards you. The two warriors launch spears at you, which are followed by a barrage of sharp stones fired from slings held by four other kobolds. To top it off, the robed kobold aims its staff at you, and a bolt of fiery energy rockets towards you as well. In the split second before you attempt to dodge out of the way of these missiles, you see three boulders laying in slight craters off to one side of the room. A winged kobold holding another one hovers high above them.
Clermar winces as he moves back to safety. He takes a moment to shake off the barrage. He moves backwards with his bow ready toward the rest of the group and says in a hushed tone, "Two armored, four grunts, a spellcaster, and I think one to three urds dropping rocks; that's what the sound was. If we can get them to come at us, that would be best. Seems like they're defending something though."
"Let's see if they follow us then. They dont know our numbers yet, if we do it right we might be able to overrun them. If you guys manage to take care of the flying ones quickly", he adresses Dril, Ospos and Bram, "then Nodrus, Clermar and Liafal can deal with the armored folk and the slingshots. I should be able to get a jump on the caster the caster." Nean looks around and gives the others an assuring look.
"Ok, so are we making our stand here in the tunnel or back in the workshop? We can still use the tunnel entrance to the workshop as a choke point to help control the flow of enemies, but the workshop would give our side a little more room to manoeuvre."
"Yes, retreating doesn't help us if they don't follow. I have a crazy plan and I need someone crazy to make it happen. Nodrus up for some invisibility? You can go in, get a good position and get them turned around by attacking a nice squishy target. Then on that signal we can rush in to back you up. So, you that kind of crazy?" Ospos looks hopefully at Nodrus.
OOC: If Nodrus agrees, I'll make it happen (Nodrus gets invisibility + bardic inspiration). I won't be able to post again until tomorrow.

"That's about as good a plan as any, maybe we will surprise them enough to get some damage in"
Dril rallies himself after witnessing the barrage hurled at Clermar. "Hey Bram" he says quietly, attention clearly on the task at hand. Dril attempts to eavesdrop on the Kobolds.
Dril: You strain to hear over the sounds of your companions. Just as you start to get a grasp on what they're saying, another loud bang interrupts you. This is followed a few moments later by a low tremor, which everyone can feel resonated through their feet.
"I'm with Liafial on this one, i dont want to walk into a fight where our enemy has a dragon as backup."
"Maybe I could try using some of my illusions to draw some of them out of the room and into the tunnel where we may have a more even fight?"
Bram waves his hands with a flourish and a duplicate of Dril appears among the group (cast Silent Image). The illusions looks around at everyone and then winks at Dril with a crafty smile.
