Dril: (If you want to use it as a ritual, I'm not gonna give you the results just yet, as I can't imagine this whole ordeal taking longer than a few minutes at most, and ritual casting is 10. So you can use a slot or wait for a few posts if you do want to go ritual)
(OOC:I don't have it prepared so I'm stuck with the ritual cast. Going for the "Discreetly playing with a toy under the table" look as he witnesses Franz's outburst while seated at breakfast. His attention is on the ritual until interrupted or completion.)
From where the creature collapsed on the floor, you hear a grown, then a gasp.
"Awake?!?!? I'm awake?!?"
The creature jumps up to his feet in a heart beat. He looks around the room, turning his head back and forth quickly.
He begins to smile, a look of excitement coming over him.
"I'm awake!!! I'm free!!"
He begins to dance around the room like a jester, whooping and shouting in joy.
"I'm free! I'm finally free!"
Continuing to dance around, he begins thanking everyone and everything.
"Thank you kind Lady. Thank you talented Ospos. Thank you stoic Dril. Thank you honourable Liafial. Thank you comfortable chair. Thank you strange creature with eye stalks."
He spins around and falls into one of the chairs with a satisfied sigh.
"I'm am finally myself again!"
Looking at everyone staring at him he add.
"Oh where are my manners, my name is Void, and I'm a changeling, a skin-changer."
At this Void transforms into Bram, giving a wink before transforming back to his grey skinned form.
"I've been trapped in my own body for close to 9 months. My persona, my fake identities, have been running around like they are real, and I've been trapped just watching almost like a dream."
"I would also like to apologise for anything my persona may have done or said that was inappropriate. From what I have seen you are all very nice and honourable people and it it a pleasure to finally meet you myself."
Looking down at the food before him, Void's eyes light up and he starts to eat.
"mmhhhmmm, this food is delicious, thank you my Lady."
"Of course, dear. So happy to have you with us, welcome to Amaranth." She says warmly. "I knew something was off when I met Franz, but Emerson is quite the psionic adept, and informed me of what was occurring just now." she says, explaining to the rest of the party. "It seems your friend here was in quite the state. To answer your earlier question Ospos, the Everqueen of the Summer Court despises me. Opherani is her lapdog. If you do intend to gain favor with him, I suggest you don't mention me at all." she says, nibbling on a bite of melon as if nothing strange had just occurred.
"Oh thank you, so this place is Amaranth? Is that just this village, or this world? I have to say, it wasn't easy to follow what was happening last night. That drink, nectar was it? That's some powerful stuff."
Void continues eating as he speaks.
"I am surprised to hear that anyone would despise you. You seem very kind, just based on what I have been witness to. It doesn't speak well for first impressions of this Everqueen."
(OOC: i'll just assume Nean went to have breaktfast with everyone since he was awake already.)
Nean watches the sickening incident with his mouth shut and the eyes wide open. The result, however, reminds him of something he has seen before. "Well then, welcome back Void. I guess that explains why Franz didnt know about you...so, have you been watching us all this time?"
Void: "Thanks, love. But the archfey are petty, and hold grudges. And this village is Amaranth, the plane that you've found yourself on is the Feywild."
Liafial: "I believe that is the best course of action for you. And I can help you get there, though... I really do feel that we can be helpful to each other. If it all possible, any information about the Bounders... maybe even one of their stones... I'd be so grateful, for anything that could help me reach my daughter. And I consider us friends already, but if you were to help me, well then I'd consider you allies. And I think you'd find me to be a loyal... and generous ally."
Dril:
At about this time, you finish your discrete ritual, opening up your senses to the magic swirling around you. You blink for a second as the wave is nearly overwhelming. The Lady is wreathed in a corona of blinding eldritch energy, so powerful that it drowns out every other source for the first few moments of the spell. You realize that her energy is suffused through the entire house as well, almost like it's an extension of her will. Once your senses acclimate to this, you can see Emerson glowing faintly beside her, his own innate magic unsurprising to you. Shifting to Void, your initial focus, you realize that the book he holds near him is quite powerful, pulsing with a strange magic you've never felt before. Tendrils of it reach out, snaking with an uncomfortable intelligence. Several of them snake around and through Void himself, and you get the sense that his magic does not come from arcane study as yours does.
"Nice to finally meet you Void! We were all suspicious as to what was going on, I was just a bit too polite to say anything. That was quite the ahh...transformation you just did there. Are you feeling alright? Everything back the way it should be? Glad you're yourself again."
"Now what will Opherani do to us once we are found? Is there any way we can win the Everqueen's favor, potentially sparing us from Opherani?
"Hello, we haven't been introduced. My name is Void and I'm a changeling, a skin-changer. I've been locked inside my body for the last 9 months and my persona, which you may know, have been running around with my body. My persona are Franz, Bram and Frank."
Void smiles sheepishly to Liafail and the others.
At Nean's question, Void answers.
"Yes, most of the time. I could get distracted with my own thoughts sometimes, so I have missed some things here and there, over the 9 months or so that I have been trapped."
At Dril's question about the transformation, Void gives Dril a confused look.
"What do you mean? Just now when I swapped into Bram's form? That was just a normal transformation."
Void looks like he is thinking about something for a second.
"Actually, how did I get down here? The last thing I remember was going to bed upstairs last night. And then I regained full consciousness right here on the floor..."
Void looks over where he awoke from and notices his book, now with the eye closed again, sitting on the floor.
"Oh, my book!"
Void goes over and collects the book.
"This book saved my life. Well, whoever it was who talked to me through it anyway."
Void opens the book and flicks through some of the pages. Stopping at one page, Void gets an excited look.
"Hey, hey I can read this! I can understand what's written. I've never been able to do that before. I always wondered what my persona were doing when they were reading this. Maybe they could read it all along?"
Void goes and sits back down, flipping through the book.
Dril: The Lady turns to you after smiling at Void's exuberance. "There's no telling what Opherani will do. he can be intense and uncompromising, but he's not cruel. I don't think you'd be in any danger. You may want to leave that mirror you were lugging around here though, I doubt he'd be happy with you taking souvenirs. And it is possible that you could win favor with the Everqueen, she's fickle but rewards displays of loyalty. Interplanar travel isn't her jurisdiction though, and technically Opherani reports to the Bounders' leadership, not her."
"That's an interesting take on it. I've never heard that idea before."
Void considers it for a bit before replying again.
"I'm not sure your idea is true of me or my kind. I have been changing forms all my life. From the moment I was old enough to crawl, I have been exercising these particular set of 'muscles' as it were. My parent were the same. We travelled around taking on new forms as needed."
"If you are referring to my recent troubles, I believe it may have been a side effect of whatever was done to save my life. See, I had a run-in with a wizard who decided to use a fireball on me. Do you know what its like to be hit by a magical fireball? Well I do, and I don't recommended it."
"I was launched through a closed window out into a river. I believe I was dying, I could feel myself slipping away. Then a voice spoke to me, through this very book."
Void holds up his book.
"It was more than just a voice really, it came with so much, else. It offered to save me and I agreed."
"I don't remember much after that, until I began to see and hear what my persona were doing. I was surprised when my persona started using magic though. Of cause now that I can read the book myself, I start to understand."
Void looks down at the book for a moment before snapping out of his own thoughts.
"Well that's enough about me, I wouldn't worry about me Liafail, I'll be ok."
"So we are going to meet this Opherani person? And he's a, Bounder was it?"
Ospos: "Just because you found it on your plane does not mean it came from their. There was a time when our planes were much closer. I just mean to warn you that if Opherani sees it, he might try to confiscate it."
Liafial: "The Bounders don't meddle with local authorities in matters that only concern one plane, but as soon as there is business between two planes, especially if one of those planes is the Material plane, then the Bounders are their to enforce their laws. Perhaps I'm biased, but yes I do agree that they could use a reality check." She smiles deeply at this. "And thank you dear Liafial, I appreciate your help. I've had many names throughout my life, and at this point I find titles to be more appropriate. If you wish for something more casual, you may simply call me V."
Dril: Their auras don't seem to change during the conversation. If you wanted to look more at their reactions though, that'd be an insight check
She stands, graceful as ever and raises her arms. Emerson beside her waves an eyestalk, and two objects lift from beneath the table and into The Lady's hands. One is a bottle, bright green in color, the other is what looks to be a palm sized flower bud. "Before you leave, gifts from me to you. A bottle of fine nectar, since you all seemed to enjoy it so much. And this," she raises the flower towards you. "Will assist you in finding Citrine City. It acts as a sort of compass, pulling information from surrounding trees and plants. It will keep you on track in the dizzying woods of this plane. Now, once you've finished eating you can be- oh" She looks around at all of you, seeming to remember something. "Your friends, the dwarf and the half-elf, Emerson says they're still sleeping. Sometimes the nectar takes more out of some than others. They'll be safe here until you return from talking to Opherani and the queen." She says with a gracious nod.
At the mention of Nodrus and Clermar, Ospos says, "Before we leave, I will have some words with our two sleeping beauties. The mirror can stay with them as they enjoy their beauty rest."
Ospos will go up to each and make sure they are not under any effect other than a hangover. If that is all it is, he will wake them long enough to explain they are responsible for the mirror, and explain the rest are leaving them behind to meet an important person in Citrine city.
Ospos: Nodrus is knocked out cold, snoring like a lion with sleep apnea. Clermar wakes up, enough at least, to groggily agree to the task you assign him before falling back into slumber. They both seem to be fine, just worn from their long day of adventuring and intoxication.
