At the mention of the scrolls, Greg remembers something he read from his book this morning.
Taking the book out he flips through to find the section.
"Hmm, yes here it is. My book has a section explaining how to add spells to the book and then how to cast them, but only for spells that can be cast using the 'ritual method'."
Greg flicks through the book some more.
"Ok, it has a bit on how to gage whether I am capable to recording and casting a spell."
Greg unrolls the flight scroll and looks it over.
"Hmm, according to this, this spell cant be cast via the ritual method. Well that's disappointing, flight would have been extremely fun to try."
Greg carefully re-rolls the scroll and places it back, before taking a look at the water breathing scroll.
"Ahh, this one can be cast using the ritual method!"
Greg reads his book some more examining the scroll again.
"Oh, this one is beyond my current level of training and experience."
Greg looks a little appointed. He turns back to Carliss,
"Any chance you have other scrolls? Or..."
Greg flicks back a couple of pages in his book looking for something.
"Ah here it is. You wouldn't happen to have any 'rare spell scribing ink' would you? It say here that I need this special ink to scribe any 'ritual method' spells I may want to add to the book."
While waiting, as Carliss is busy with the others for a moment, Greg flicks through the book a little more, getting a bit excited upon finding something.
"Oh, there are already 2 spells here in the book!"
He reads a little more,
"Hmm, this one is a spell for understanding languages, nice that could come in really handy!"
He flips to the next page and reads a little more.
"Oh this one sounds like fun! It's a spell to summon a little helper spirit. Oh, this one needs special ingredient as well."
Greg reads off a list of items from the book.
"It says I need: 10 gold's worth of charcoal, incense, and herbs and that I will need a brass brazier to burn them in."
"Well I think we should spring on those potions Liafial found. And, when you have a second, can you tell me more about this universal solvent? Where I'm from, water is considered THE universal solvent. As a student of both science and the arcane, I'm a bit curious of its composition."
Dril swirls the capped beaker full of fluid, watching intently.
Greg: "Mmm no, I don't think I have any more scrolls in here. Might have some of that other stuff." Slowly but surely, Carliss works his way around the store, collecting the various items you've requested from shelves and drawers. Charcoal, incense, some bundles of dried herbs, and a rather large bottle of ink sealed with red wax, all of which he places in a small, dented brass brazier. Carliss slides this in your direction across his desk. "230 for the lot."
Dril: "Can water instantly dissolve glue? Or wax? Even magical adhesives? No. But that can."
Greg's eyes light up at the bundle of items Carliss brings over.
"Ow great, thank you, I will take all of it."
Greg hands over the money and takes the items.
(how is the 230gp divided for the 3 groups? brazier; charcoal/incense/herbs; and rear inks; so that I can keep a track of it. I need 10gp worth of charcoal and incense for each casting of Find Familiar; and the ink gets used up at a rate of 50gp per level of the spell, for scribing.)
Nean: None of them appear to be magical, but one quite gaudy option is a mustard yellow wide brimmed hat, curled up on one side with a magnificent plume of white and black feathers.
Carliss says good buy and thanks you all, still a little gruff, as you make purchases and exit the store. The village now looks about the same as it did yesterday, as if you'd only been in the mansion for a couple hours at most. The forest beyond looks the same as well, still strange and beautiful, and slightly less foreboding now that you have some sense of direction.
After a second of weighing up, Nean feels a daring drive overwhelm him and he takes the yellow hat. He then runs after his companions who have already left, still holding the piece in his hands. Once he reaches them, he stops to catch his breath, grins deeply and puts it on.
Ospos turns to the group and says, "I believe our priority is to meet this Bounder 'Opherani' to explain our accidental travel to the Feywild. I don't know if we would even be received by the Everqueen."
"This is true, but we should probably present ourselves, in case the Everqueen wants to see us."
Greg explains,
"If I was a ruler of a city, and some strange beings from another world, came to my city but didn't come and present themselves to me, I might feel slighted."
"As we don't know much about this Everqueen, it might be a good idea to try to give a good first impression. At least that was my thought on the matter."

"I'll help covering for those as well."
(Are any of those hats of the magical kind? If not, which one is the funniest one?)
At Liafails decision to cover the cost himself, Greg remarks,
"Your a good man Liafail, I owe you one, you need help or money or something in the future, you just let me know."
Greg heads out of the shop to wait with Ospos, as the others finish their shopping.
