"You do not have to hunt him if that will slow you down. I like your deal. If you choose to slay him... let's bargain for the price of the reward, shall we? I'll start with a total of 300 GP for your whole team." The kobold licks his lips as he awaits your offer.
“A bargain, you say?” Jakus looks up. His mouth creeps into a smile, and he places his fingers together, staring at the kobold. “How about…let’s say…500 gold if we slay the ogre.”

"So much gold to defeat some clumsy, fat Ogre. What about 250, because this should be easy for your whole group combined? And it will take what, 5 minutes to stab him enough to kill him?"

The kobold begins choking on seemingly nothing, adding to a terrible bargain. His brother pushes him aside. "Look, this earns you experience, glory, and gold. 300 gold is reasonable."
Thrudor not caring much about the haggling proposes something to make everyone's lives easier "Perhaps since there are six of us, it would be agreeable to offer 330. That would provide 55 gp to each member of the group. Easier to divide yes?"
Cunning shakes his head slightly, too bemused to be offended "Yes, I am a tiefling. Green-moss is the name of the orc tribe which took me in as an infant and raised me to be who I am today."
The Eladrin nodded her head at the kobold absentmindedly as she listened to Cunning. Cocking her head to the side, she squinted at her companion. “Hmm… I guess that makes sense. Where I’m from, you never really know. Sometimes moss stands up and walks and talks like an elf.” She then frowned in contemplation before muttering quietly. “Perhaps those orcs were moss…”
———
Listening to Titus’ proposition excited Anasfyra. Her foot began tapping as she had a hard time keeping herself still. “Ooh, my first kill quest! That sounds lovely! Hmm… rewards… whatever the others decide for the gold is fine by me. But the equipment…” For a moment, something decidedly more fey shines through her mask of youthful naivety. Then, it passes, and all seems normal once more. “Something meaningful, yes? It doesn’t need to be powerful.”
“Something meaningful, yes? It doesn’t need to be powerful.”
He nodded at Anasfyra's suggestion. "Yes, let's not forget, half-and-half would mean 55 gold, and then we each get equipment worth around 55 gold as well."
Then the fighter rubbed his chin. "Or, if the others are willing, one or two items, for the entire group, worth the combined amount. Maybe something magical?" He shrugged, then added, "Either way though, I'll let the rest of you decide on the details. I'm not picky."
"330 for the group total. Remember my first offer was 'a total of 300 GP for you whole team', So split is 55 total per person meaning 27.5 for gold, and 27.5 for equipment. Your companion Thrudor suggested that, saying 'That would provide 55 gp to each member of the group.' 27 on gold, 28 on equipment for each of you. Unless you want to split the money."
Titus shrugged, then simply leaned back and looked towards the others to argue either way. He'd suspected the kobolds had meant the offer as the total value of their reward, but figured he'd give a stab at claiming otherwise. But as he was now finished with his breakfast, he wasn't interested in dragging out the arrangement further.
"If we do run into this orc," he thought, "and he turns out to be harmless, then when we get back I'm going to give these guys a tongue-lashing for wasting our time with all this."
"Very well. Be careful on your journey. If you see thieves, stop them for me. Travelers are vulnerable with such a weather change, and thieves us this to their advantage."
Titus returned to his room to collect the items he'd requested from the server, and was surprised to find extra equipment, weapons and armor. "Glad I have a backup to carry now," he chuckled as he took a rather nice longsword, then upon second appraisal, a small, sleek dagger as well. Hiding the dagger inside his right boot (just in case he'd need a covert weapon later,) the fighter finally gathered the rest of his items, then came back to rejoin and leave with the party.
"We will take care, Your Highness; thank you for all your gifts. And as for the thieves--" his eyes gleamed. "Getting rid of them will be an absolute pleasure."

With a persuasion of 4, he sounds stupid as he forgets what he was trying to say halfway through.

“Your weapons couldn’t hurt him, as you said before,” Jakus counters. “400 gold, since we’re going to be facing a good amount of trouble.”

He thinks for a second. "Well, that is... No, our weapons can't hurt him, yours can. And the trouble only gives you experience. 300 gold."
